When people shop for RVs, the first thing they want to do is step inside and look around. The reason is that if the internal layout isn't right, it doesn't matter what's on the outside. This is why all RV reviews should start on the inside. 👈
Great review, >almost< a great rig. It's inexplicable after nearly 2 decades of making these vehicles, Mercedes/Winnie have not resolved the CCC epic fail. This vehicle has a ton of outside storage, dimensionally, but in reality, there is no room whatsoever for physical gear, equipment, or even basics. The inclusion of propane is a huge letdown. It's 2025... nobody wants propane. Ditto on that "generator". Solar and huge lithium capacity are current asks. Finally... we know how to put Aqua Hot water/heat in adventure vans...Revels, GH1, etc. Why can't we get this tech in our motorhomes? This unit had so much potential, unfortunately it tore a season ending hammy during the first snap from scrimmage. Winnie: Pls go back to the drawing board. You're so close. You can do it. You re-engineer those shortcomings and you'll get $250k + for these units.
@@60AirflyteThe AWD component takes 220-230 lbs , so it is better to go with the RWD. Also the cab over bunk takes 125 lbs more, so it is better to go with the Low Profile, and finally we would opt for NO GENERATOR, as there are already a second alternator Nations 280ah, it is another 121 lbs. At the end, i think you have 1115 lbs occc with battery lithionics 320 AH, Xantrex xc pro 2000W, Auto leveling system standard, NO GEN, 240w solar and second alternator 280AH. It is manageable. Of course it would be better with 200-300 more lbs on the chassis. I think Mercedes has a 4500 chassis where they redirect 1000 lbs from the towing capabilities to inject it in the GVWR, so 1000 lbs more cargo, over 12120 lbs , but it is valid only in US. The Canada validated it only to 11030 GVWR. I think they probably right as a vertical force is different than an horizontal force.
I read the 4500 had an upgrade this summer at the curb weight which was inferior to the 3500 and was preventing rv builders to use it. Now the curb weight is superior to the 3500. So we could see more and more class c of the big brands using it. I read the Lineage by Grand Design is using it but they have put an extra heavy solid frame on the chassis to create a more solid foundation but their occc is still above 1000 lbs, with a big slide. Thor Tiburon XL has over 2300 lbs occc by simply moving their design from the 3500 to the 4500. I will wait to see if LTV and Winnebago build on the 4500 as well in the future for their Unity and View/Navion. I doubt for LTV as they mirror their layout on the Mercedes/Ford Transit and wait a lot of time before changing anything, but possibly in the Winnebago View which uses solely the Mercedes chassis. Lineage does not seem to indicate a limitation for Canada, i will watch them. They only have a big slide layout but will create two other, probably a rear twin bed. That’s all the info i have.
I would have install the tv on a televator in the small storage under the window. The reason is you could watch even when the slide out is IN. Even with slideout is OUT, the tv would be better viewable. It would add a nice storage above. They could put a bigger tv 40 inch. You could use also the tv as computer screen by putting one chair in front. You would get better contrast by blocking the window as well.
I would like to see the view 24T And 24R on the existing mercedes 4500 chassis with 1800-2000 lbs occc. The 4500 has been upgraded this summer. I predict more class c will come with the 4500 chassis to resolve the cargo issues.
It would be a great option to have. One thing to consider is that with the 4500 chassis, while you do get greater carrying capacity, you get a lower tow capacity in return. From our experience, most View customers come in wanting a View so that they "don't have to tow a vehicle." However, we find that majority of them do end up getting a tow vehicle at some point, usually within the first 12 months.
@@MillersRV it is a choice. But i still prefer a rv where i can put the occupants, water and cargo, and save fuel. if i need a vehicle, why not getting a bigger rv, more capable to tow and more cargo capacity. It defeat the goal. but even with 3200 lbs towing, and more cargo from a 4500 you can attach a trailer with a big scotter 2, or 3 wheels, even a small bike. My car has 4wd and is not flat towable anyway...If i absolutely need a car for convenience i can still rent a car for one or two days visit. but i think 25' is good enough even to go in city, and park nearly anywhere..in park, exterior museum parking, commercial parking..
With these options the cargo carrying capacity is rated at 692 lbs, with a towing capacity of 5000 lbs. If you option it without the AWD and no cabover bed it will be around 400 lbs more. if you option it without AWD and keep the cabover bed it will be about 200 lbs more.
@@MillersRV wow... thats two people and some food and supplies... then towing max is 4200 if you take it to the limit. Its a bummer... I love the whole thing but without any cargo and can't tow but a Chevy Spark or Smart car.. it has to be taken off my considerations list. Great job on the video
NO AWD with cab over bunk because of weight issue 769 lbs AWD with low profile with GEN 769 + 225 lbs RWD with low profile with GEN 769 + 225 + 121 lbs RWD with low profile with No Generator = 1115 LBS ( probably the max occc you can get) but it includes full tabk diesel, full propane, auto leveling system, 320ah lithionic, xantrex 2000w, dual alternator 280ah Nations, 2 x 120 w panels. It is manageable. We all would like to see more, but this on the side of Mercedes Sprinter. They could work on an extension of the 4500 chassis which already have 1000 lbs more cargo capacities, but it would be valid only in US and not in Canada who didn't validated it. The 24T is on the 3500 chassis. The 4500 chassis has more GVWR around 12125 but same GCWR 15250. The 3500 chassis has GVWR 11030 and GCWR 15250. It would be great tp work of validating the 4500 in Canada. I don't need to tow a vehicle, i would prefer more cargo.
@@TomDavisVideothere is no sprinter or transit chassis that can tow a big car and plenty of cargo, you must increase the categorie to Super C with Ford cummins 6.7 diesel or class A. You mustn’t forget that here it was an AWD and cab over, you save 400 lbs with RWD and low profile and you can save 121 lbs by removing the generator which is not useful here because there is a dual alternator and you can put more panel on roof and external. This model has also auto leveling which is heavy and a big lithionics 320A with xantrex 2000w xc pro freedom charger / inverter and dual alternator Nations 280ah in addition of the 250ah mercedes alternator. If you want more cargo you can tow a 4 x6 trailer. But for a big car, it is a no. A old crv max. First a bigger rv will have more torque for that. And their chassis of super c and class a can provide 2800-3000 lbs of cargo.

@@jcaam8094 these are foldable , if you don’t need them because there are already table for the recliner, then don’t bring them or put these on the gear garage . You can also bring camping chair and use them inside only when needed. It’s flexible.
Good presentation but what. a HUGE Winnebago mistake to not have an easy to rise recliner. and making the seats wider and a smaller console. A cassette toilet that is removed outside would be an improvement.
Not sure exactly what you mean by the easy to rise recliner, but the reason for no cassette toilet is that this is geared more towards folks who want luxury but are inclined to boon dock sometimes. As opposed to the EKKO that is geared mainly for boon docking.
No it is not, Cassette are a mess to empty them. It is good for tent camping, I know i have one, a very good Porta Porti 365, but to empty it, better bring with you glasses...and you can mess up bad.
The diesel heater would be a nice feature for sure. It would most definitely increase the price though. Also, the EKKO 23B does have the cassette toilet but still LP heater/water heater.

It is very good but to empty it, better bring with you glasses...or buy the Americanizer adapter for cassette. About propane, it is still very efficient. New hydronic systems are not yet massively used so we don’t know about reliability.. i just heard about a Timberline that didn’t work. I don’t know for the Truma Combi D E. I hope they don’t have the tick sound of the classic diesel pump we find on Diesel heater. There is s pump for sure . Is it silent ? Not sure. Propane is silent.
