    That didn't seem too bad. You should try Bevendean Down near Brighton. Two laps of a field with a big hill on the South Downs!

      Sounds fun!! Thanks for watching Clive 😃 we appreciate it!

    Great vid 🙂 Flatts Lane, Hamsterley, Jesmond are defo tougher. That 3rd lap at windy nook is a killer if putting max effort in for the full 5k. Its much more enjoyable though when not going for a pb. Windy Nook is one of my favourites tho, love the smaller events

      Thanks Keith! It was a good one 😊. I love Hamsterley too, but it’s way tougher! Going to try and get Denton Dene out next 😃

    I wasn’t a fan of it if I’m honest. Similar conditions when I ran there. You need to go and do Flatts Lane in Middlesbrough…………that’s a challenge!! In fact I challenge you to do it! 😂

      We enjoyed it - but I could see why people might not like it! Challenge accepted Kris 😂 watch this space!

      It’s definitely a fun and you’re right about the marshals, they’re there whatever the weather 😊

    I remember really enjoying Windy Nook. My experience was definitely a much less puddly one than yours! I think I must have gone there about four years ago, so it was great to see the course again via your video - thank you so much! Hopefully I will get back there someday soon to take on those stairs again :) I can't remember 100% but knowing me I am sure I would have just walked up those. I don't believe in running up stairs, haha!!

      You’re very welcome Kendra! Thank you for watching - it was such a fun one 😃 nothing wrong with walking the steps 😆.

    Looked good fun. Looking natty in the Jog On tee. You'll have to get yourselves down to Great Yarmouth for a beach run...average finish time around 37 minutes!

      Haha thank you 🧡
      Yes - isn’t it the hardest in the UK now?! We’ll definitely have to give it a go at some point! Thanks for watching 😃

    I did it in January 2022 and I definitely didn't think it was so bad. I'll never get a finishing position like 24 again! Hardest thing for me was finding it and I made hubby drive me there. Flatts Lane is much worse!

    • @those2runners
      @those2runners  8 месяцев назад +1

      Haha yes I’d agree, it was quite difficult to find! Luckily, we got there just as the run director was arriving so he showed us the way! Looking forward to doing Flatts Lane 😳😂. Thanks for watching! 😄

    Definitely looks like a tough one. I've run a few races like that over the years. Always an adventure. I like the new name and I agree, Keep on Running UK never yielded your channel name -- I always had to go into my history to find your content.
    Had a good 5K this past weekend. Didn't quite hit the time I wanted to -- my shoe came untied so it set me back about the time I was hoping to run. Oh well. Another 5K and then a Half coming up. Probably wrap up the year at that point.
    Enjoyed the video!

      Thanks Eddie - from a dedicated subscriber like you, it’s good to hear that now you’ll hopefully be able to find out content more easily 😊
      It was a tough course in some ways - but not in comparison to many of the others we’ve done. We really enjoyed it though!
      Don’t worry about the 5k - target the next one 👏 these things happen, I’ve had a similar lace related issue in a cross country race before, so annoying!
      Well done for having a go and good luck with your next couple of races! Keep us posted! 😃

    Have you guys done Gateshead (Saltwell Park)? There’s some good hills on that one, I find it great for hill training!

      Hey Dan - yep we have: ruclips.net/video/kGRRrKSglD4/видео.htmlsi=Kbj2ZMAogPMIbPxM
      We did it last Christmas Eve - but didn’t think the profile of the hills were too bad 😃
      Thanks so much for watching!

    Agree with your comments,it’s not a bad parkrun yeah the steps and uphill are tough but you can’t run flat parkrun courses all the time and the downhills are nice🏃‍♂️

    Well done you two! I found Jesmond Dene savage and very rough! Hardest Parkrun ever! Surely \WN can't be as bad? Didn't seem to be from this vid. I have actually done Carlisle Parkrun and this is meant to be tougher than Jesmond Dene but it wasn't actually as bad. I look forward to trying this one in slightly better conditions! Keep on running and keep having fun. P.S where's Jonny?? haha. Take care

    • @those2runners
      @those2runners  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah - it definitely wasn’t as tough as Jesmond Dene! I’d recommend it - it’s a small one, but loads of fun 😊.
      Thank you mate - we will! And thanks for watching!
      Johnny works now until the early hours of Saturday morning, so it’s hard for him to come along. He’ll be back for the odd video soon though 😊

    I did it a few years ago and I really don't think it's that bad either. Flatts Lane and Hamsterley Forest were definitely more difficult.

    • @those2runners
      @those2runners  8 месяцев назад

      Yes - I’d definitely agree! We haven’t done Flatts Lane yet but Hamsterley was definitely tougher! Thanks so much for watching 😊

    Windy nook is my default park run: I love the course and because it's a bit smaller I recognise most of the people which you don't get at the bigger ones. I'd describe it as a slow rather than extremely tough course: although it seemed to be a relatively still day when you were there and the clues in the name-it can get quite windy, plus the prevailing wind means the uphill is into a headwind which makes it feel a lot worse.
    As well as the elevation I think the windy (as in bendy) nature of the course slows it down but makes it mentally easier for me as you feel like you're always getting somewhere rather than endlessly running along a long straight. I found bits of Chopwell bad for that with long tree lined straights. If you like to not pay attention to where you're running and just hit a constant speed then Windy Nook is not for you, and often I find myself running alone with no one in sight so following someone else isn't guaranteed either.
    I also found Morpeth a tougher course mentally, even though I think it's faster I didn't like the out and back and not being able to stretch your legs on the steep downhill with sharp bends is annoying.

      @those2runners  8 месяцев назад

      Great comment! Thank you for watching! I agree, I love a fun twisty course with lots to look at and do! 😊 Windy Nook is a great Parkrun for that reason!

  • @paul78965
    @paul78965 8 месяцев назад +1

    Its a very tough course up there. I like to say it's three laps all up hill, somehow even the downhills are still up hill

    • @those2runners
      @those2runners  8 месяцев назад +1

      😂 the downhills are uphill made me laugh 😂. A great little course but I do agree that it seems to take your legs even if you’re not finding it too difficult! Thanks for watching!
