Jason Long This is actually a really tired cliche of late night TV, David Letterman did it long before Conan ever did. They invite renowned chefs or TV chefs on and ask them to demo recipes and then just act like idiots throughout.
Never forgets to call andy, love that about Conan... Unlike other talkshow sidekicks are treated... Andy is not sidekick he is part of the show and a good friend...
I like how people here judge the chefs on this show like that is the extent of their skills, this isn't a cooking show its a comedy talk show and they come in knowing that so of course they are going to goof around.
Man trolls everywhere tonight. Anywho gonna give some perspective. Christina Tosi is so far removed from being a normal pastry chef that people often criticize her for seemingly "lazy" baking style over the traditional. I will say now it's a very shallow and narrow minded criticism. She knows very well how to make croissant dough, brioche, cakes, pies. But she's NOT trying to make the old stuff. She's trying to break a certain stiff and rigid impression of baking and push people into the funner, goofier side of it. Couldn't you imagine doing those grocery rolls with your children? How much fun that would be?
Destiney Haddox perhaps they were from a professional pastry chef conference and this video was brought up during the main event, triggering every one of them to visit it on youtube and comment on it, little did they know the guy who showed them the video was conan's youtube marketing manager. sorry, not sorry.
blackice11z She was. It's called Crack Pie here in the Toronto location, though, I am pretty sure it's called the same in the New York locations too. I have never heard of it being called Crackle though, sounds weird.
To add some flavour, I guess. It was poured into the Chocolate paste during a part like this on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. I think Martha Stewart was the pastry chef that time.
For everyone who's hating on her in the comments: lay off. She's just nervous. If you search her up on youtube you can see other videos she's done for Mind of a Chef and Vice where she bakes some other things -- the girls a genius. She makes some really amazing stuff for Momofuku(her cookie dough cookie and banana cream pie come to mind) and she's actually pretty chill in other videos she's been featured in.
If you watch master chef it’s obvious she is a serious, perfectly competent chef, I have to assume the point of this was to just be silly or something.
Jeffrey Bok Let's face it, most of Americans hate learning in general. Trust me, I am from America, and my old friends are closed minded brats. If America changes their mindset on a lot of things then the world would see them differently, if America wants to keep being lazy and not working hard in their careers, they will be better off living with their parents. Life is about working hard, if you stop, you fall back and it is just going to get harder if you try and come back where you were. When Americans changes their mindsets, I might consider living here, but I do not want my children to be rebels and lazy. Europe here I come! Sincerely, from an American.
I love how Conan just doesn't give a fuck when it comes to cooking segments. It makes a great comedy bit though.
Jason Long The cooking, animal, and video game segments are great with Conan.
Jason Long well, she's no Gordon Ramsay, is she?
hello, germany! Have you seen his segment with Gordon? Conan takes nothing on this show seriously.
The Bread Man I have, but I think you misunderstood my comment.

I laughed so hard when Andy comes in like an ogre hahahaha

Right?! It looks like every single commenter must be experienced pastry chefs. Otherwise, why would they make such arrogant, and judgmental remarks!?

i know of some funner, goofier things that she'd enjoy during her downtime while things bake...and i'd taste test every inch. giggity!
WHY ARE YOU GUYS RUDE?? Christina is such a lovely person and a very talented pastry chef!
Imagine Jordan Schlansky being there
He would do nothing. Like usual.

Shes having a blast. And knew the assignment. Clearly a fan.
3:00 thought she said "Crack Pipe"
blackice11z She did.
Paul Vaughan Wasn't she really saying Crack Pie?
blackice11z apparently so did conan. He made the joke on it.
blackice11z She was.
It's called Crack Pie here in the Toronto location,

called Crackle though, sounds weird.
Edward Truong I knew she said crack, but I heard Pipe rather than pie.
What was the two cans of guinness there for?
Jeffrey Bok don't question the guinness ;)
Jeffrey Bok Conan's Irish, so he always has a couple of cans of guinness nearby.
To add some flavour, I guess. It was poured into the Chocolate paste during a part like this on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. I think Martha Stewart was the pastry chef that time.
Yimello Plus, I think he's desperately trying to get a Guinness sponsorship lol.
Daniel Thureskog It's spelled flavor.
conan is so good at making these segments funny
I love Christina, she is so cute!
Don't understand the dislikes, such a lighthearted fun video!
RoboCat well you see, weak men saw a woman bossing a man around and decided to unleash their nerd rage
Why do I have this urge to surf Conan's hair?
I love this chick! She is so cool and has a great personality.
Lol. The chef handled Conan pretty well.
I first hear *crack pipe*

And the crack pie ingredients are a mystery! That means it definitely calls for crack!
"and that's what americans call food, son."
It's surprise that Conan didn't drink the Guinness!!
she looked so happy , i mean like so excited , lol
Damn she is so loud, she has a mick, she doesnt need to scream.
Damn, those Milk Bar queues are going to get bigger.
You can tell she was sorta getting frustrated but knew that it was Conan's show so she just "played along."
A little tap…wham wham …boom boom…..lol
RICHTER SMASH
If you watch master chef it’s obvious she is a serious, perfectly competent chef, I have to assume the point of this was to just be silly or something.

Where does the beer come in? It's just sad there on the side all the time

Do they call that baking in the US?
Andy smash!
God Damn Andy came in there like a fuckin caveman!!
uh oh .. martha stewart's got some competition
She seems like a fun gal to hang with. Would be a great friend to have around if you smoke a lot of weed.

More people would use crack if it were called crackle.
WOT BOUT DAT GUISSNESS THO!?
WHAT DID THEY DO WITH THE BEER!!!
So, Americans can't bake...
Simon Christensen At least 60% of Americans can not.
Simon Christensen As opposed to the rest of the world?
Leah Christman What does being American have anything to do with having the ability to bake?
Jeffrey Bok Let's face it, most of Americans hate learning in general. Trust me, I am from America, and my old friends are closed minded brats. Sincerely, from an American.
