      Our battery definitely has low temperature protection function. We just updated the internal structure. We will only update the battery without reducing functionality.
      Our 200ah battery has three temperature sensors, you need to put the three temperature sensors together in ice water at the same time, it will detect it, and then it will stop charging the battery.

      @Power Vatrer - is that how low temp sensors are supposed to work?
      If the one lead senses low temp, that should be enough to turn off the BMS. Epic fail.

      @@Vatrer I guess we will wait for Mike to test and get back. I just can’t see a genuine failure case where it (low temp cut off) worked at the factory, but doesn’t work on Mike’s desk if the unit was properly designed and tested.

    Hello, thanks for your great information. I bought 2 of 200ah and one stopped charging after 9 months and despite doing everything that Vatrer asked me, it did not comply with its 5-year guarantee and only told me to buy a new one
    Vatrer is not a responsible company, so if you buy, you know, don't get scammed. In the end, I lost more than $600 because it seemed like a good company, until this happens to you and you realize that it is not. Blessings

    I saw that video with Will Prowse, he really hammered the Vatrer. If the manufacturer ever watched his videos, they would have known this ahead of time and built the battery accordingly. Imagine the damage they have to overcome now, with that bad publicity. Personally i’m impressed by the updated build quality and intend to replace my AGM RV battery with it in the future.

    Great Review! 1 other thing I saw in video was the nylon nuts. Looked like every post with a balance lead and main positive/negative lead wasn't even touching the nylon which explains why it was so tight. Did you happen to check the others? A good rule to follow for nuts is to have a least 1-1/2 threads showing on top of ANY nut.🤘

    Hopefully they will fix the BMS deal, yeah low temp cutoff isn't a deal breaker for me either, I keep my stuff inside, and it doesn't get that cold in NC for long anyway, I would still rather get raw cells, I need about 400-600ah 12v bank, and eventually about 2000ah 24v, or 1200ah 48v bank, if I go to 48v, (I really need to do so badly, the number of charge controllers is crazy, and I need more, 2x more, with 2x the pv)
    It will be a while before my 24v bank needs replaced, 1000ah+ liion, I'm just nervous having all that
    LI- NMC in the house, if I could replace it with LiFePo about 1000ah I'd take the loss, until I could add more, I will probably buy a few cells per month, or maybe save the money and buy at once , after I find a good reasonable supplier, I'd like to get the BYD BLADE cells, in about a year or so, but these batteries are almost tempting, for the 12v bank anyway!

    low temp cutoff. Nice, if it works. I have two of the powerqueen 200ah look alikes, but no low temp cutoff. Had to be careful and put in a transfer switch and an extension cord feed to either my tool shed's battery, or the house, to keep the mini-split keeping the temp above freezing. I have not been able to get the low temp cutoff to work on the Epever AN series 80amp charge controller using basically the same test.

With a few design revisions, this product looks to be a great option, especially for those looking to integrate combined starting capacity for larger RV diesel power units (eg. parallel a bank of 2-4 200Amp batteries (260 amp BMS +peak for 3-5 seconds) to a Victron lynx distribution block.

    Excellent video. Get a breath. I am not a fan of aluminum conductors be they buss bars, cables or straps. With the capacity at 200 amps there is going to be sufficient heat to warm those bars up and expand. Where is the goop, grease, etc. for the connections. With the aluminum conductors swelling and shrinking unless they are chromed there is a problem. Still with chrome there should be a fine layer of goose grease preferably Ronny Red grease. The ny-lock nut is good except for the "one use scenario". We all reuse them but that does not make it right. I never have trusted "one shot parts", even on the first shot. Still, better than a smooth nut or a kick there. I love these lithium cells. After 45 years of babying lead acid banks large enough to run a regular house for weeks or one 125 VDC motor for 72 hours or until it went up in flames, I see lithium batteries as amazing. Still, this battery is a "PLUS" and is rated at 207 AH. 202 AH is just another scratch in the finish. Thanks for the education.

    I made them Assure me, whatever that’s worth since I won’t be ripping them apart, but I wanted it in Writing in a private email exchange, that they Crimp and no longer solder ! The Nyloks hadn’t become evident til I saw your Review.
    My decision took A LONG time, and I had whittled a Long list down to Weize and Vatrer, based solely upon economics. Reputable Docan Power came out with one, but No Reviews to date and I seldom feel “lucky” in rolling dice on unknowns. The Vatrer came in with a significantly Lower FDC (final delivered cost) than the Weize, and at the end of the day, my decision was to $ave and use the Savings for an AC Charger.

    Wow- so much to love, but- no low temp charging protection? I live pretty far North and the boats I'm looking at are even farther North (Nova Scotia)- It's NOT optional for me. I like the 8D form factor with the lower height even. Bummer. Thanks David!

    That Nylon Locking Nut isn't even engaged because the stud is too short.

    • @LithiumSolar
      @LithiumSolar  2 года назад +1

      I'm pretty sure they had some kind of thread sealer on the short studs. If you look at the nut I held up, you can see flaky stuff on it.

  • @SVAdAstra
    @SVAdAstra Год назад

    The nuts are called: "nylocks." The nylon degrades when exposed to heat, and one didn't look like it was fully engaged. If the bolt/screw doesn't protrude through the nylon, the locking action is lost.
    Fiberglass reinforced strapping tape ... across the BMS heatsink?! Strapping tape is meant for reinforcing packages - not for electronic assemblies! That tape will fail with time when the adhesive deteriorates. And that time will be short when exposed to the heat from the BMS. You'll end up with a sealed plastic case full of loose items rattling around inside.
    Shoddiness!

    Wild, people only buy low temp protection battery's if they need it. Typical,I went for the battery without low temp cut off, I store them in heated storage. Let's face it if your battery's are cutting off because of low temp than that's a problem in itself, when its cold people need their battery's to work. Heated storage is the best solution.

    Forse c'è un timer collegato al sensore temperatura. La protezione interviene dopo un tempo lungo, e non dopo qualche minuto.
    Presumo che potrebbe essere questo il problema.
    Forse è stato fatto per consentire all'inerzia di evitare repentine e continue disconnessioni. Riprova e attendi almeno 15' min.
