But Cairo Illinois isnt pronounced the same as Cairo Egypt. More like Ka-row, another wacky midwest thing like in Iowa we have Mad-drid, (Madrid) Na-vay-duh, ( Nevada) Trip-o-la, (Tripoli) Moscow might be the same and Rome is.

...but pronunciation! Okay, but so what? It doesn't change anything. It's still another Egyptian name regardless of how locals might pronounce it. There are lots of names from all over the world, and often repeated from State to State. There is a Miami in both Oklahoma and Ohio. It's interesting, but doesn't mean much.

Baby alligators are actually quite harmless. When they get to about two feet then they get moved to a new enclosure. This is quite normal. Gatorland has baby alligators people can pet but they get moved to a large enclosure once they get a certain size. The oldest known alligator on record is 60 years old, a massive 15 feet long, and weighs 2000 pounds. It took 20 men to move the alligator to a place specifically designed to house it. That alligator gets a deer a day with tons of chicken parts for snacks.

I've been to this bass pro shop. It is quite the place! This guy showed everything that was there besides the hotel. I never got to see the hotel either, though it seems incredible. From what I remember during the elevator ride, there's a little speech about how they decided to put the Bass Pro Shop into the pyramid. They were fishing and made a bet on the size of the following fish they would catch, and if it were that size or larger, they would put a Bass Pro Shop in the pyramid. They have ducks that live in the pyramid, and there are boats attached to docks floating on one of the ponds.
Not far from here is the Peabody Hotel. They have ducks that they keep in a penthouse on the roof, and they come down the elevator in the morning to a fountain in the lobby and stay there all day, then go back up to their penthouse later in the day. There is a whole ceremony for when they come out of the elevator! That view from the top is one of the best views in Memphis. There were window washers when I was up there cleaning the outside of that pyramid. 17:17 That is the I-40 bridge. 20:35 On the far left of that peninsula with the apartments is a park with a scale topographical model of the entire length of the Mississippi that can be filled with water so it flows like the real one. I can't remember the scale, but I think the model is a quarter or half a mile long. P.S. Pause as much as you want.

Throw a line in the water, come back to the house and wait for a bite. All the men in my family fish as well as most of my grand daughters.

I think race car driving is more available in the southern states because of the more temperate weather. You might enjoy checking out these too.: Demolition derby. Drag racing funny cars. Pit crews. Monster trucks.
Its refreshing to hear appreciation for our culture and landscape. Cheers! 👍

I’m from Oklahoma and live in Oklahoma now, but I lived in Memphis from 1989 to 1995 as a kid. I watched the opening ceremony of The Pyramid live on TV. It was a big thing back then. A large crowd and a big celebration. They opened it as an arena. I never had the chance to visit it, though.

Fishing is pretty popular in the US. I fish usually once a week. A small river runs through my farm as well as I stock on of my ponds. For me it is a food source as we live off-grid and try to produce as much of our own food as possible. And while I don't consider myself an avid fisherman as I don't engage it purely as recreation, I have given Bass Pro a fair amount of business over the years. 🐟🎣

I don't even hunt or fish, but I love natural history museums and this one reminds me a lot of one of those! I don't know if it is the same in Portugal, but many museums here in the U.S. will contain recreations of different natural habitats, and this is some museum-caliber recreation! I would be interested to see you react to NASCAR because I don't actually know very much about it. I'm not really a fan of any sports, but I have heard some *crazy* things about the technical feats involved in NASCAR so I would be happy to learn more about it.

As a side note all bass pro have fish ponds and waterfalls, at least all the ones I’ve been in. All the animals are real. In the south nascar is the biggest sport, more followed then baseball, football or basketball.

I did go to the Pyramid in college back when it was a stadium. In addition to sports, they would have concerts there. My understanding was that the bands/musicians didn’t like the acoustics of the venue.

I am actually from Memphis, grew up there in the 70's and 80's, then went back in the 90's after serving in the Air Force. The whole Pyramid debacle was quite the story. The project supervisor embezzled millions, the project was in delay by years. I went to the first Rock music concert there Van Halen and Alice In Chains, the shape caused the sound to bounce around so bad, you would hear each verse like three or four times echoing around. They then hung foam baffles covered in white plastic look sheeting on the inside of the outer walls making it look like the inside of a white frosted cake.

Bass Pro Shop is just their fishing and boating section. it used to be a separate company, but they bought them out and integrated them into the store) looks like a pyramid.

All my in-laws live in Memphis. My husband graduated high school and college there when it was more like a convention center. We visited once and it really is fun. Lots of hands-on things to do, games to play, and of course, cool merchandise. You can pay to go to the top to see the skyline of Memphis and the Mississippi River. If you visit Memphis, definitely do the Lorraine Motel (where MLKjr was assassinated) and connected Civil Rights Museum; get BBQ across the street at Central BBQ; check out Sun Records where Elvis recorded (and many other famous singers); go to Graceland (Elvis' home - stuck in the 1970s); and schedule a couple of hours to wander around the Bass Pyramid.

fishing and hunting are MASSIVE activities in the U.S. they are SOOO popular, the local governments actually have to put limit restrictions on how many of each you can catch each season.
Also, Louisiana's Motto is "Sportsman's Paradise".... this doesn't mean team sports, but recreational sports which also include hunting and fishing and trapping, along with boating, skiing, diving, and others.... just about anything outdoors. They get massive amounts of hunters and fishers during those seasons that come from out of State along with all the ones that live in the State....

There is only one pyramid bass pro shop in America, and that is in Memphis, Tennessee. I am from Texas and most of the bass pro shops look like log cabins. And the one closest to where I live has a bowling alley inside the store along with a restaurant. Many aquariums. And taxidermy mounts of animals all over the store, as well. There is a shooting arcade like the one in the video. And anything you can think of in the way of fishing, hunting, and camping. They are an amazing store. It’s like an adult toy store. Fishing in America is a multi-billion dollar a year industry. Not even counting the commercial fishing industry. You can get lost for hours in one of these stores. Great video. 🤠👍🇨🇱
