There's no death here. This song is about choking on your feelings, sinking into them and learning to cope with those feelings. Hence, wear your tears like jewelry. If you need a recommendation for metal health, then Animosity is right up your alley. Do the same concert Teatro in 2022

Dany, Pau and Ale camr from the stars, riding on three comets and bringing with them the power, the thunder and the lightning. They were raised by doves and fed on fairy dust. They taught the angels to play their harps and trained the choir that sang at the birth of Christ.
At least, that's the story I was told.

They are the Villarreal sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. Daniela 23, guitar; Paulina 21, drums; Alejandra 18, bass. They have been a band for 10 years. They recently posted a video celebrating their 10 years together.
The response to the video of their Enter Sandman cover from 9 years ago is what really awakened them to the possibility of them being legitimate musicians. When they wrote the sons for their first EP "Escape the Mind," is what convinced them that writing and performing music is what they wanted to do, especially together. So, consider watching their Enter Sandman cover from 2014, then move on to the ES they recorded with Alessia Cara for the Metallica Blacklist charity album in 2021, then their live performance of ES from the Teatro Metroplitan concert in 2022.

Hey Tom! This song came out shortly after I was warned and was the first single they released from the most recent album ERROR following the pandemic and their North American tour being cancelled. This is a song about anxiety and depression and feeling like you are drowning in your emotions, so you were pretty close on the meaning for a first listen.

They did over 100 gigs in 2022 mostly in North America with a couple shows in South America. They aren't going to have quite as many shows this year but have done concerts in North America, South America and Europe. Check their website for tour dates. They are currently on the last leg of their ERROR tour with shows in their home country of Mexico. Haven't announced much for 2024 but I expect their 4th album to be released early in 2024 with a tour built around the new music. The only shows I see so far are Shiprocked (Feb 04- Feb 10) going around the Caribbean and Wacken Open Air (Wacken Germany in August). Both events/venues are sold out.
Choke was written about working through feelings.

Pau is the drummer and the emotional heartbeat of the band. And by most accounts the principle songwriter. They all contribute and work on everyone’s parts together. But Pau takes ideas and comes up with basic melodies. And if it’s a very deep or emotional song chances are she will take the lead vocal on it. Revenant from the same concert at Teatro is hauntingly beautiful with Pau on vocals out front. No drums and a guest guitarist playing a Mexican 10 string bass called a bajo quinto. The harmonies with the 3 sisters are beautiful. And it’s also a great song to analyze from an emotional standpoint. 23 and Breathe are Pau songs too

She has a tremendous voice that transmits a lot of emotion.
She is the lead singer in many of their songs.
She is going to make you cry when she sings the song “black holes”. Prepare the tissues 😢.

These young ladies put out an entire concept album for their 2nd full album called Queen of the Murder Scene (QotMS) which is a full dive into psychosis from start to finish. They performed the entire album live at Lunario CDMX 2018 from prologue and all 4 of the 3 song chapters with favs from the 1st album in between each the prologue and every chapter as well as encore. The relevant songs are easy enough to get a list for, however several of the 1st album songs also have psychological themes and socially relevant ones also. For reference I am myself a Psych major (for social work previously) and so at least have a frame of reference I use to gauge with.

Next song, Black Holes from the Dakota Bar. Or you could do When I'm Alone at Teatro Metropolitan. Both are mental health songs. Black Holes is about addiction, written by Pau when she was 13. When I'm Alone was written by Dany at 15 when they (all three of them) attended Berklee Summer Music Camp and her class assignment was to write a song. Since they are Mexican, Spanish is their native language. They learned English in school. For them, at the time, Berklee was a music school for older students (they were all too young to enroll normally) in a foreign country.

Any song from their very dark concept album Queen of the Murder Scene would give you something to sink your teeth into. Or, go back earlier to the song Black Holes (Don't Hold On) from their XXI Century Blood album. On the surface, this is a song (mostly written by Pau who was around 13 at the time) chronicling the depth of despair an addict can sink to when they push away the help of someone in order to save that someone and they've recognized that they must "surrender in my defeat". There are, of course, since it is The Warning, layers of other interpretations that are equally valid.

Suggest 23, Kool Aid Kids or Amour from this same show. Their second album Queen of the Murder Scene is a concept album/rock opera about a young woman’s infatuation and unrequited love, which turns to obsession and then madness. For full effect of the narrative, you really have to go through the songs in order on the album. 👍😎

Both songs from the incredible mind of Paulina, but the second has her out front, and is an in-your-face reply to critics who called them Malinchistas (culture traitors) for, among other things, writing their songs in English. It's only fitting that this is their first song in their native language.

"I didn't know how sick I was until I got well" resonates so much with me. Depression felt normal at the time, because it's slow and insidious, but when I look back and remember it terrifies me. The me of today recalls those feelings and doesn't understand how I survived it, because I don't feel like I'd be strong enough to do that. And yet, I did.

The Warning is an apt name as they mostly warn us about issues dealing with mental health or social media and the effect it has on us. For your professional figure would be great to check their "concept album" written in such young age (18-16-13 years) "Queen of the murder scene". The themes treated in this concept album tells the story of the inner journey of a disturbed young woman, from desire to obsession, to murder, and madness. The songs are narrated from the perspective of the girl's dark side, her psychopathic inner self, or from her good side, which has a conscience - until it no longer does. Below is a description of the album's plot:
    Prologue Dust to Dust:
Dust to Dust is a prologue that invites the listener into the story and introduces the main themes - life/death, good/evil, truth/lies, etc. The Spanish section seems to be from a preacher stating that salvation is possible but something one has to work for. The lyrics have deep psychological undertones - life is short and unpredictable ("How quickly things can unfold"); there is an afterlife ("and we will start again" and "truth found in death"); we should beware false prophets ("Where are you going? Don't trust everything you hear") and judgment ("I'm not looking for right or wrong").
    Chapter 1
    Crimson Queen:
Crimson Queen introduces the girl's obsession. She loves someone who doesn't even know she exists. Her feelings are intense, confused, and conflicting, overwhelming her. She would do anything for him to love her. So far, all innocent.
    Ugh:
In Ugh, the obsession is clearly growing and consuming the Queen. She's afraid of what she's becoming. She doesn't want it to be this way; she wants it to be simple ("I don't want to understand, I just want to hold your hand"). She pleads to be saved and feels like she's sinking into a trap. At this point, she doesn't know, and doesn't intend to, but there will soon be blood on her hands.
    The One:
In The One, things start to get dangerous. Her control is slipping away, and the Queen is willing to do anything to make that love come true. She's willing to eliminate the competition: "I want to kill all the love that is for you, so only mine remains." The lyrics shift from "let me be the one" to "I will be the one." When in character, Dany will spit out the last line "because you will love me back" in a furious and frustrated rage. Events are about to unfold and cannot be undone.
    Chapter 2
    Stalker:
In Stalker, the Queen has her love trapped and is telling him how much she wants him. And it's not an option: she says "yes or no, as you prefer, I will have you one day." The band said in their Patreon live chat on December 18, 2018, that the murder (Pau says "the first murder") occurs at the end of this song, in the last verse. Perhaps the object of her affection rejected her, and she killed him in a fit of rage. In the chat, Dany says she is "singing it to the corpse" when she says "you're mine" in the last verse, as he can no longer get away from her.
    Red Hands Never Fade:
In Red Hands Never Fade, the Queen becomes remorseful. Here, she's asking her love to forgive her for her mistake (killing him). Obviously, it can't be undone. Her hands are stained with blood, and this cannot be fixed.
    The Sacrifice:
The Queen hears voices in her head, unaware that they're only in her head. The evil side is trying to take control, trying to convince the Queen to surrender and not resist. It offers to take on the pain and guilt. The evil side also predicts that the Queen will turn bad. It suggests that the Queen has fantasies that will lead her to evil - the "darkness in your eyes" and "If you let this go on, there will be a point of no return for me."
    Chapter 3
    Sinister Smiles:
In Sinister Smiles, the Queen struggles between her good and bad sides. It's performed as a duet between Pau as the good side and Dany as the bad side. The bad side is taunting the good with its power, but the Queen is trying to be strong. She even starts to threaten suicide, probably in the bathtub, hence the lyric "stain the water." This is a very feminine way of committing suicide, in the tub, perhaps during a bubble bath, so that the blood from the slashed wrists stays in the tub and doesn't mess up the house. Then the evil side joins her in singing that part, so does the evil side desire suicide? At the end of the song, the two warring personalities split.
    Dull Knives:
In Dull Knives, the Queen is losing control and seriously considering suicide. In the previous song, Sinister Smiles, she had already thought about it. I presume dull knives cut "better" because they cause more pain, and at this point, she is self-harming. She realizes her evil side is winning. She's losing control.
    Queen of the Murder Scene:
In Queen of the Murder Scene, the evil side mocks the Queen ("You don't deserve the throne. The crown is mine."). She's proud of how evil she is and boasts about it. But the Queen might have something to say about it in the next song, P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C. Note that Paulina, who has been the voice of the Queen (the good side) since Sinister Smiles, sings "Korosu, korosu," which in Japanese means "kill." Something seems to have changed with her.
    Chapter 4
    P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C.:
The Queen has admitted what she has become and everything she has done. In vlog no. 26, the girls say the Queen is mocking those trying to capture her. In the previous song, the evil side said she didn't deserve the throne. Here, the girl says she will sit on her throne. She's reclaiming the throne and embracing her evil side - embracing it joyfully. It seems she commits further acts of violence here. She says the knife in her hands won't stop.
    Hunter:
In vlog no. 26, in Hunter, the specter of Death appears, inflicting a mortal wound to the Queen at the end of this song. However, since the Queen has multiple personalities and is psychotic, it's easy to see that Death is simply a manifestation of the evil side or some other personality inside her, and that she is committing suicide. Perhaps one personality believes it is killing another of her personalities. This song might be the conscience of the Queen reasserting itself, letting the evil side know that the internal war will never end.
The End (Le stelle sembrano sempre svanire):
The Queen lies dying in The End, and these are her final thoughts. She regrets nothing because she still feels she did it all for love (Sinister Smiles ends with the evil side screaming repeatedly "I made no mistake"). Interesting to note that Paulina sings both the first and this last song, creating a cycle where Dust To Dust includes the phrase "In the end, everything returns to dust." The last lines of The End are "to begin again," and Dust To Dust says "and we will start again." IT WILL BE AN AMAZING AND INTERESTING JOURNEY AND EXPERIENCE, TRUST ME!

As a healthcare professional you need to react to When I’m Alone. I didn’t realize how much I needed to find someone to talk to until I read the lyrics to this song.

Nice Reaction! They did a Tour through the Southern U.S. in May of 2023 before heading over to Europe for the first time. After that they did some shows in the Northern U.S. as well as some shows in Canada. Since then they have been going in South America and Mexico. The could be fixing to release a new album. They recently played two new songs in concert from that, but nobody knows when it will come. React to Dani singing When I'm Alone @ Teatro. She wrote it when she was 15 about being homesick when they were at Berklee College of Music. You would definitely have some lyrics to disect on that song.

Hello Tom... your reaction is very interesting, I liked it... the young ladies from The Warning have written several songs with serious and mature themes... when they were 16, 14 and 12 they performed their song Black Holes, and the theme is about a person trapped in addiction to some substance.... they also made Cooper Bullets, they talk about a murder-suicide... a year later they composed their Masterpiece, the concept album Queen of the Murder Scene, about a murderess and a entity of evil that invades it.... the truth is that each song is worthy of your analysis. 🤘😎🤘

Too many to list. The entire ‘Queen of the Murder Scene’ album to start with. ‘Black Holes’ for sure. ‘When I’m Alone’. Ok, that’s definitely where to start! ‘& then ‘BREATHE’.
‘Our Mistakes’. ‘ANIMOSITY’. ‘AMOUR’ would be good, about a love/hate relationship. & if you want to go WAY old-school, ‘Escape the Mind’ is a great choice. One of their very first compositions as literal children.
‘Runaway’ would be interesting. Then of course there’s the societal commentary, ‘DISCIPLE’ ‘MONEY’ ‘EVOLVE’ (which also serves an awesome abuse survivor anthem) ‘ERROR’ ‘Z’ ‘KOOL AID KIDS’ ‘XXI Century Blood’ (official music video for that one) (The band name is The Warning after all).
Basically just pick a song and press play 😊

Try 23 the drummer sings lead and it's a very emotional song. Animosity is another song that deals with betrayal and hurt feelings. They're both from this show. Choke is about dealing with painful emotional feelings and coming through after coping with them to a better place. Enjoy the ride I like your reactions. 🤘⚡🔥

The only way I can decribe the meaning of this song ( I'm sorry but I don't usually spaeak english, I'm from México) is something like "when you hit bottom, the only way you have is go up" if you sink me. just do it, I will go up as much as you want to keep me down, so I'd say this is a very possitive song, not my personal fav but its a grat song... Greetings from Mexico!!!!

Sometimes you just need to be left alone to feel the feelings so you can deal with them not just band aid them. You got it right, you have to get to that point first.
They came through Houston last May I caught the Austin show myself.

Do Queen of the murder scene. Track by track n And realize how young they were when they wrote this album. It was mostly Compose by And written by the drummer who was about maybe thirteen years old, This is a contact album almost like a Broadway play. If you really can't touch him to the hole. Entire album and realize they were still in the teens when they wrote this

i dropped *a little history* 2 weeks ago in your *Evolve* reaction... it should answer a few of your questions and desire for knowledge... i had to double check because i really didn't want to drop it on you again ;)
*Choke* is about those times when you are overwhelmed by things in life and you want/need to work through it all by yourself without others trying to help... "just let me drown" in my troubles... "advice is overpriced"... i'll get through it my way, don't try to help... it is a song about emotional and mental strength... other original songs of similar nature are TW's *Evolve* (which you've already reacted to) and *Survive* 😹

You may have got a bit too literal in the beginning of the reaction to the lyrics but you got it at the end.
The premise is like you mentioned that sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to get better and you have to want to get better and sometimes you drown and choke sorting things out for yourself until your ready to ask for help but it’s something you had to go through by yourself initially.

My recommendations lately for reactors has been Z from this show, particularly if you sre interested in the "concert experience". It was their opener here, references generation Z and their attendant trials and sets the tone for everything that follows. But seriously you could as well throw a dart at a list of songs and whatever one you hit would be good. Loving your journey.
