try using 1.25x, 1.5x, 2x, etc. I probably watch half my videos at 1.25x, 25% at 1.5x and the rest at some combo of normal speed or 2x. I usually watch vids on this channel at 1.25x fwiw, don't let talking speed dictate what you watch.

I have now started to make personalised baby bibs and kids T-shirt’s by embroidery and HVT (I have now purchased a Cricut and heat press). 😆 By little business is growing and I’m having so much fun. I'm 73. You are amazing. I would love to know what gave you the confidence to get get started so young. I started sewing for the public when I was in my early 20's. Eventually learned drapery and bedspread making, machine quilting, added wall[paper and then my husband joined me and added paint. we had a paint and wallpaper store for 26 years. The sewing became too stressful so I dropped it, but am about to pick it up again with handbags and other things. Thanks for you sharing and inspiration.

When starting an embroidery t-shirt business, what should your inventory look like to start and how many sizes should you have? I'd love to start making kids shirts but don't want to spend too much on inventory unless I need it.
Hiii! It depends greatly on the availability of the shirts you are buying. Right now is a totally different time in regards to shirt suppliers as almost everyone is running out. When I started I could have 2 of each size and not worry because I could run to a store and get some but now it’s a lot different. I would try to have 5 on hand of your best selling sizes and maybe 3 of the others. If budget allows more than I would get 10 of each.

How did you decide what designs to use? I have a gazillion-right now I can’t always remember which are limited and which ones are not. I have a special needs daughter and facing my husbands retirement in a few years. I want to try-again-getting my embroidery business up and running. I have all Brother machines-Quattro 6000D (2008), PRS100 (since it was introduced), and a vintage PE200 Snoopy. I looked into Melco once before years ago-then went back to college-but was unable to relocate for a job. Here I am now- trying to get back into it in a new state-house, town. I have a collection of onesies in varying sizes I have held onto all these years. I do have a business license (IRS) not state license yet. I prefer the baby route-and maybe caps-just not thrilled with PRS100 cap frame. I do love to sew and need to for me and my little girl. I can only do part time right now I think. On Etsy you use your social or a business license because you have to report your income. I would suggest getting a business license that way you can purchase items wholesale
Good video Angela. I remember when I started selling small decals, then heat vinyl T-shirts and so on. Now I’m doing DTG but business is turning other way and instead selling T-shirts, I’m selling the DIY DTG machines 😂 and is super good. I was thinking to get an embroidery machine and I see you have a few. Is each one do different things? Like the melco is only hats?
They all do mostly the "same thing" some of the differences is how many colors, if they have a camera or laser pointer, and some have more bells and whistles than others. Big difference in prices from a 1 needle to a 15 needle. All 6 of her big machines are "embroidery only" so they don't sew. Hope that helps. 😁

@@ale347baker direct to garment, a method to print t-shirts. Also there is DTF direct transfer film also to do t-shirts and is more easy. You can see video on my channel.

I am a seasoned seamstress and sell my custom made garments on Etsy and locally here in TX. I recently purchased my first single needle embroidery machine to “add” personalization to children items that go along with my store and would like to add custom T-shirt’s as well. I do have one question. Is it required or do you recommend washing your T-shirt’s before doing any Appliqué or any other application onto them? Do I need to be concerned about shrinkage issues after a customer washes the garment? Thanks

I heard etsy may not be great because they charge a lot of fees...but if it helps you start you can always move to another site.

On Etsy you use your social or a business license because you have to report your income. I would suggest getting a business license that way you can purchase items wholesale
Good video Angela. I remember when I started selling small decals, then heat vinyl T-shirts and so on. Now I’m doing DTG but business is turning other way and instead selling T-shirts, I’m selling the DIY DTG machines 😂 and is super good.
I was thinking to get an embroidery machine and I see you have a few. Is each one do different things? Like the melco is only hats?
They all do mostly the "same thing" some of the differences is how many colors, if they have a camera or laser pointer, and some have more bells and whistles than others. Big difference in prices from a 1 needle to a 15 needle. All 6 of her big machines are "embroidery only" so they don't sew. Hope that helps. 😁
susie kramer thanks for the info. I will take a look at a simple one to start. My main focus is DIY DTG printers and T-shirt printing, but adding an embroidery looks fun.

@@ale347baker direct to garment, a method to print t-shirts. Also there is DTF direct transfer film also to do t-shirts and is more easy. You can see video on my channel.

I recently purchased my first single needle embroidery machine to “add” personalization to children items that go along with my store and would like to add custom T-shirt’s as well.
I do have one question. Is it required or do you recommend washing your T-shirt’s before doing any Appliqué or any other application onto them? Do I need to be concerned about shrinkage issues after a customer washes the garment? Thanks
