Growing up with cars in the 90s must've been so magical. As a 24 year old it saddens me that I'll likely never have an opportunity to drive most of these cars.
I'm not being ill-mannered or sarcastic in saying this, but what's preventing you from getting the more affordable sports options? NA 300ZX's, Mitsubishi 3000gt Base or SL's, a multitude of American options like the C4 Corvette, and many others are still quite affordable. If it's anything like the vehicles in most of these videos, remember, most were tuned a bit. A bit of searching and I think you can most definitely get something nice of the time for cheaper than most of the limited new offerings.
@@sigmareviews I'm actually saving up enough money to buy a nice older car, but when I spoke of "opportunity" I was referring to being able to drive other cars either through rental or swapping rides with a friend. I can use a service like turo if I want to rent a modern mustang or porsche boxster, and that's enough to make me feel satisfied. I don't necessarily need to "own" the car itself, I just need the gratification of knowing what it feels like to drive it. But for cars like the RX-7 and NSX, the odds of owning such cars let alone driving them is only becoming more and more impossible as time goes on. Although, in hindsight, maybe I should just be grateful that owning one of the more affordable 90s JDM offerings is something within my grasp, financially.
@@parmpreetgill8205ah I understand, good point. The largest crux with car rentals nowadays is more the gps tracking etc nowadays. Who do they truly believe is going to rent a sports car and not want to properly drive it, albeit I guess that's more what track rentals are for. On the friends part, my friends at least readily let me test their cars out, and sometimes approach me to do so.
I think it is more the fact that it doesn't belong to our time anymore, even if you bought one of these, it is not like you would go out with a bunch of friends that also have one and enjoy the night. This car lore is dead, and probably a lot of our actual economy has to do with it (as well as the cultural changes that came with). Cars will migrate from being an artistic/technological statement to being a purely utilitarian comfortable machine, just like your average smartphone. However, if you watch these movies, you will realize that it is not all about the machine that was being driven, the thrill came more from the sense of group and camaraderie between its participants.
great edit i love these kind of edits (nostalgic calm synth) keep it up and do more short edits like this try synth music like i can fix you x simpsonwave 1995
Love the video and the vibes, but next time please avoid embedding black bars into the video itself... if the content of the video is 4:3, then it should also be exported and uploaded as such.
It pains even more to know that having existed for over 2000+ years, this is the era we JUST MISSED BY A COUPLE DECADES.
Indeed
So true man! Hey I love your vids man keep it up!
So close, yet so far.
Also why did you delete your alt's car vids?
its even worse we existed for a little over 300,000 years.
Brother we can bring it back if we want.
being a rich kid in japan during this era would have been a blast
That's the best part, you didn't even have to be that rich back then to afford most of these cars.
That's true. @@ReefMonkey
Man the JDM car scene in the 90s really must have been something else
Indeed
Yeah for sure
This is beautiful. Captures the essence of what car culture was like in Japan in the 90s. I wish I could be there
Crazy to me I missed this era by only 10 years
