I love these videos, the music makes it feel like I am on a cheery adventure. Thank you!
Thanks for this video, I really appreciate the part where you show how the belt and idler pulley should go without the drum in. Great video!
Very good video Sears closed it's doors in my town back in 2018 this video saved me a headache and money!.
Showing how to align the drum with the belt/tensioner attached was the key, thank you so much!
Thank you much for the video!!! You sir, saved me $250 dollars in repairs. I only spent $7 dollars for the motor pulley. Thank you!!! 🙏
Was your dryer screeching really loud?
I replaced broken belt & pully yesterday. Saved over $220! Thank you!!!
I really appreciate the way you explained everything in ENGLISH 😁 and slowly so even a College educated veteran could understand. I love my dryer. It's survived 3 growing children and then I saw a broken belt, I thought it was a easy repair. After removing the drum, I noticed that the Pulley was broken. Then your video, $35 and an hour later I have a new dryer. THANKS
Thank you so much for making these videos. I repaired my dryer with ease.
Great video only problem with mine is the reason I'm replacing mine is the pulley snapped in half so nowhere to put the adjustable wrench.
Mine did too. I used a vise grip to remove the snapped part
@@mlea3612 how though? There's literally no room to get the wrench behind the broken part or even get enough grip to get it to break loose
@@shaenak3014 I was able to get a vise grip into the space and with little room was able to slowly back it out
It's been 2 years, how did you get it out?
Thanks 👍
PERFECT EXPLANATION. Life saver
Thank you for that at 5:55 I was looking for how to get the idler arm back on in other videos they glossed over that part in other videos.
We Tried it
and it worked Thank you sir 👍

Thank you! This video answered some important questions for me.
it is very helpful video......
You should have video when the pully is snapped off. And it's not so easy to take off. Lol
Great video, this solved my noisy problem. thank you.
Thanks so much for this video helped alot.....now waiting to see if it works
Thank you for the video really helpful!
Very helpful video but what if the motor pulley is broken and there is no place for a wrench or socket because that piece broke off? The remaining bell shaped part is still screwed on and will not budge. HELP!
I used a small pipe wrench to Lock on to the outside of the flare section of the pulley.
Just ordered my pulley, question any oil/lubrication for replacement?
My dryer drum doesn't pop off like that. Do I need to remove the screws at the back (inside the drum)?
Arizona Jones
I replaced the motor pulley but now the two holes for the lint screen opening aren’t aligned
Thank you, this was a helpful video.
Thank you for this video it came in handy
Thanks so much you're the best!
Hello, Someone know how to remove de the motor pulley if is broken?
Mine won't budge and I am afraid it will start to strip that flat part that you put the 7/16 on. I don't know who put the last one on but Hulk comes to mind. Next gonna try heating for a quick 15 sec with a torch or 3 min with a hair dryer.
Great Video...Thanks a bunch!
Glad you liked it!
Really good video. This dryer is very similar to my GE GEQ9800LW1 dryer. What symptoms would lead you to need to replace the motor pulley? My dryer is squealing as if the belt is slipping, even with light loads. It's been getting worse over time and appeared to have started when I took the dryer apart to replace the thermal fuse. I'm at my wits end as I've replaced the belt, rollers, and just now the idler pulley spring. Thanks in advance...Jonathan
I know this is a year old but you need to replace the rollers to fix this, I had the same issue. It’s only slightly more involved than the fix in this video, you can do it!
What would continually cause the motor pulley to keep breaking? I’ve replace mine 3 times and the hex end keeps breaking off causing the belt to fly. I’m certain it’s not because I’m over tightening. Anything would help, thanks!
It's just made of cheap metal aluminum I think and it just give out in time, but three times is a lot, had mine for 10 years before I replaced it. whirlpool
Maybe over loading the dryer. I try not to put to much weight but then your drying more.
THANKS-A-LOT!
Thanks helped a lot.
Thankyou gracias
Thanks so much!!
I love you got it
My bolt is sheared how can I get it off?
Thanks
"Just a little bump to get it started" ... judo chop! "Bam!!!"
What’s the reason you would need to change it ? My dryer is making a really loud noise like a bearing might be going out.
Hello, could you please supply your model number and I will be happy to research this for you.
PartSelect Sorry it took so long to get back to you anyways it is a Maytag dryer model MGD5630TQ0 I watched your video and I think it might be the drum glides my dryer is making the exact same noise as the one on your video
Hi, when researching your model for symptom, loud noises, the top part that have been purchased by customers to help with the noise are the drum glides (bearing) or the drum roller shafts. There is a left and right side shaft. If you would like to place an order please call us at 1-888-738-4871 and we will be happy to help you.
Lasurge1982, I have a two stroke maytag multi-motor that was built in 1928, it was used to power a maytag washing machine.
I had to replace the on on my parent's dryer. The front part of the motor pulley that has the head for the wrench completely sheared off.
I tried this and couldn't budge them. Just the fan blade came off the other side
This video is generally helpful, but 1:39 and following lack crucial guidance as to what you're supposed to move where.
What if the pulley head can off?
Got her running ole son thanks
Máy của tôi đang chạy tự nhiên không chạy nữa có ai biết chỉ giúp tôi với tôi xin trân thành cảm ơn
Can the motor pulley be installed in the opposite direction? I need to replace mine but it will not thread on with the cone facing the motor.
It should be installed as it came off your motor. It has a taper inside that matches the motor shaft so it stays on tight. If it wont thread on the normal way but it does when reversed it is likely there is an issue with the treads insde the pulley. I would recommend replacing the pulley.
Every one of these repair videos are good and helpful, but you can do without the cheesy music which adds nothing useful and is just irritating.
Nice constructive criticism lol
You skipped the front pannel
Dude skipping steps and everything
sorry, this did not help me, half of the video was always coverd due to writing on screen
