What do you think happened, do you think there is evidence for any specific theories?
I live about a mile from the bridge. We were told “part of the bridge collapsed” then seen the video and all I could do was cry! We were put in a state of emergency per the mayor and governor.
There are excellent maritime channels on youtube (that are not MSM) who have the real story. "What Is Going on With Shipping" and "eSysman SuperYachts" are two sources posting real facts gathered by experienced maritime trackers -- and they are debunking all of the many "theories" promoted by ignorant people. Watch their videos and learn how real reporting is done.
there is always evidence for specific theories. That's what cults are made of. You have just enough truth to make it believable. Once you reach believability, game over, right? Not right. This is where you trust your gut instincts. If it all looks believable but something in your gut is telling you there is something that still doesn't seem right, trust your gut always!

What's your theory re cause and/or intentions?
What do you think about the Fern hollow bridge collapsing the day FJB came to PA to discuss the bridge infrastructures here...same with this horrific tragedy
I'm a Marine Engineer and work on ships. I will tell you that, 1. There are emergency generators on these ships that will come on automatically when there is power failure from the main generators. This does take anywhere between 20 a d 45 seconds. It is possible that there was an issue with the emergency generator but by CFR regulations monthly load test are required. Also, most engineers will have multiple generators running in parallel while transiting a busy port or beneath a bridge. 2. Ships are designed to be able to operate the engines even with power failure. There are battery back ups for throttle controls. 3. In the video the heavy exhaust could be the result of sending the vessels props in reverse to slow the boat down. However, the sudden change in course tells me this was more on the deliberate side than not. The course the vessel was on seemed fine until the last minute. 4. There are speed restrictions while transiting through ports and there were pilots on board which are not organic to the crew but they don't typically physically operate the vessel, they are there to give instruction and information about the winds, tide, currents etc. I just wanted to give more information to the thread.
Thanks for the knowledgeable information.
And isn't there onboard Radar systems to stay clear of obstructions? I know barges that Navigate the Windey Cumberland River have them. I'm sure Ocean going vessels do
This is exactly what I was going to post. Those ships don't just fail to operate, there are back up systems in place. The possibility of power failure is accounted for, esp with big money on the line. The question is WHY did the power cut off. The moment the power cut off the back side of the ship began to swing out and that is what caused the change in course...the steering wasn't deliberate, it's something that naturally happens with ships if there's no steering control. But the timing of the power being cut off (twice) that close to the pylon is very suspicious.
3/M here, you gotta consider the way the ship is gonna handle when the power goes out, there’s a lot of other factors ie. wind, current, sail area, & momentum. To me this just does not spell out deliberate at all. I deal with tug & barges so ship handling is what I do for work on a daily basis. If you have a vessel like that with loss of propulsion, it’s not gonna stop on a dime and it’s gonna get thrown off course in the 30-45 seconds that it’s offline. If you can’t get the plant back online for an emergency full astern bell then it’s gonna keep going for a while because of how heavy it is and the momentum that goes with that. I think the crew definitely should’ve dropped the anchor sooner than they apparently did, but I don’t see any foul play from a bridge/wheelhouse standpoint.
That was my thought is why didn’t they go balls out in reverse but maybe they did try.
The bridge was named after the man that wrote our national anthem….. weird as the potato in office is trying to destroy our country!
Now really, be respectful! His title is Chief Potato of the U.S.!

We tend to focus too much on the cause, and not enough on the effect. Perhaps this wasn’t about the cargo ship destroying the bridge, but about preventing ships from delivering “cargo” to that port.
After all, 9/11 wasn’t about destroying airplanes and buildings, it was about destroying America.
Step by step it's getting soon worse.
9/11 was our own government or globalists, not terrorists in the traditional sense of the word. It was about money, oil, and the TSA / Patriot Act.

Interesting that the captain is from Ukraine and we just failed to pass another huge aid package.
Trust and believe that the bridge is/ was well lit up. Very visible.
Another set up
These ships are ALWAYS piloted by harbor pilots, not Captains, because they know the harbor. Not an accident.
There were two pilots on board. The ship lost power and drifted out of the channel. The emergency generators failed to start the engines. It was not a pilot or captain steeping error.

The captain wasn't piloting the ship at this point. The harbour pilot was. He is especially trained and is very familiar with the physical attributes of the ship channel.
All the more reason it couldn't have been an accident.
The local pilot advises. But the final say is the Captain's decision. The local pilot never acts as vessel Master.
When entering or leaving a port, once the Harbor Pilot is on board, he is in charge of navigation (the the ship's master remains in command of his vessel). The Master & crew must abide by the orders of the Harbor Pilot, unless the Pilot is otherwise impaired or endangering the ship & crew. In this case, there were 2 Harbor Pilots on board (don't know why). When the lights went out, the ship more than likely lost the ability to steer (one of the most dangerous situations at sea). Protocol is to drop both anchors to slow or stop the ship. Because the ship was moving to starboard (to the right, towards the bridge), the crew apparently dropped only the port side (left) anchor in order to pull the ship toward the left, away from the bridge. This makes total sense. However, there wasn't enough time to slow the ship. When so many keep asking why was the ship paralleling so close to the bridge prior to the collision, I would remind you that the Harbor Pilots were in command of navigation, not the ship's Master/Captain. This will all take a lot of time to unravel completely (remember, these are gov't agencies investigating...they move at a snail's pace). Meanwhile, I hope you join me in praying & wishing for peace & comfort for the families of those who lost their lives in this tragic incident. 🙏
I live about 40 miles from that bridge and my wife and I and several other people I’ve talked to today all think this event is very suspicious to all of us.
Looked like it was deliberate…
The Captain knows where the support column was!
I would argue that questioning the narrative to ensure lives were not lost in vain or taken with intent is the most respectful approach
Those lives lost deserve critical thinkers and the truth. Whatever that may be.
Clearly
The thing that makes me question it the most is when the first response is "This was not a terror attack".
Well that may be true as it was our own government instead 😁
Yeah, like when they hadn’t even extinguished the flames at Notre-Dame Cathedral and they were already saying it wasn’t arson/terrorism. How TF did they know that while the fire was still raging?
it was our own gov
So why was my response deleted?
The problem is there are four possible scenarios:
1) they believe (or know) it was, but they don't want people to know it;
2) they believe (or know) it wasn't, but they want people to think it was;
3) they believe (or know) it was, and do want people to know it;
4) they believe (or know) it wasn't, and don't want people thinking it was.
In 1 and 4, saying that it wasn't one would be their response. Because people are immediately going to speculate that it was, and they want to assuage those fears. So them saying it wasn't isn't particularly evidence for me one way or another.
It is just amazing to see cars zooming on the bridge right before impact, and then seems like none right at impact. Could they get traffic to stop that quickly? But even more so, just imagine realizing you were one of those last cars or trucks to zoom right over the ship! Wow. I wonder if they even knew what happened right behind them, or if they kept going on their merry little way.
I was just thinking the same thoughts….
If we had a trusted government agency to investigate and report what happened honestly, I don't think anyone would be concerned because they would know the truth would come out. Unfortunately, transparency from our government is not something anyone has confidence in.
My heart ❤️ and prayers go out to the people and families that lost their lives and loved one's.

I am not a civil engineer. I am astounded how fast the rest of the bridge collapsed! Not just the part that was struck by the ship.
Looks like a toy parts just easily collapsing ... Very tragic & incredulous to watch
September 11 th; World Trade Center " flash back " !
It was just 20 years ago that bridge building projects were all the rage in primary school science curricula. We used to get kits for students to work in groups to design bridges in miniature.
My thought too - reminded me of 911. Free fall collapse.
I blame the US civil engineering culture for that. Coming from Mexico, from a family with plenty of civil engineers among my uncles, you can't begin to appreciate how FURIOUS i get whenever i listen that moronic sentence of "everybody can build a bridge that stands, but few people can build a bridge that _barely_ stands". And US civil engineers take *pride* in agreeing with that idiotic statement!!! Apparently, such idiocy was born as a result of a need to assure investors that a particular engineer, in charge of an engineering project, wouldn't incurr in extra costs - which they do nonetheless, with or without that statement. But the end result of absorbing that statement and the sentiment embodied in it is: a culture that's *obsessed* jwith always doing the cheapest thing that works, checking the absolute bare minimums that are legally required, and then forget about it. Coming from a highly seismic country, the contrast in how our engineers work is impressive. If the law says a building or a bridge must withstand as a minimum winds 80km/hr and an earthquake 6.0 in Richter scale (the gov't certifying bodies used to do analyses with scaled models, now they use computers), an engineer who's worth his dime will design the structure to withstand 100km/hr and earthquakes up to 7.0 . Why? Because sometimes, when different factors add up (like resonance, or the waves getting amplified), a building that was certified for a 6.0 earthquake will collapse with "just" 5.5 Richter, or a bridge certified for winds 80km/hr will unexpectedly face a hurricane with 120km/hr winds. But a structure that was slightly "over-engineered" will survive - that's how you save lives. The prestige of an engineer takes a huge hit if one of his creations falls down!! Caiming "oh, i followed all the laws, it was certified to meet the minimum" won't save his face. Look at how low the prestige of construction company ICA has fallen, after all the deffects in the Mexico City subway line they built have surfaced (yeah, the one that had a bridge that collapsed, killing a number of people).
One argument is the loss of power means you can't steer the ship. Well, it looked to me like the ship was being steered into the bridge support!
When the black smoke rolls, she’s full throttle…
The lights turning on and off while the smoke is still pouring says the lights were being flicked on and off as a “safety”.

I've been telling people this on every video I have watched. The lights was their scapegoat to make you think the power went out but the engines don't throttle or give more fuel when the engine is off/power is off......
Or was it FULL REVERSE?
@@Indo1030 if the power went out when the lights went out there would have been 0 smoke. And it takes a bit for those controls to regain function when the power comes back on meaning the reverse wouldn't have worked and there would also be no black smoke. I am a Marylander. This is a tragic event and will also be affecting this state for years. Most traffic had been stopped, but yes, there was traffic, there are vehicles in the water. there were workers working on the bridge, there are still people missing at 1700hrs.
Navy vet here. Mm3. As a engineer I often did steering checks and rudder swing checks.if the power is lost and back up is waiting to come online. The EOSS was clear in a loss of power event. And is very common sense. Ship stops completely or slows down . Drop anchor in event of Emergency stop needed if necessary. Why would you change direction and not decrease speed if you had loss of steering. Make it make sense. If you lost ship power and switch to a backup generator. The ships engineering office should have made the call for them to go into emergency protocol and damage control mode in a instant. The bridge had to be steering. They deliberately turn right.
Do they need power to drop anchor ?.
I read someone stating that the anchor was indeed dropped. I don’t know where to look to see it though. Also, what are the engine situations? Could it be there are multiple and only some or one fired up causing the ship to turn? Or how reasonable is it to assume someone simply zigged when they should’ve zagged during the panic? I think that is what they say happened to the Titanic. Either way, the power going out and the black smoke rolling isn’t business as usual. It appears there was a major malfunction and if it was deliberate, they sure waited until the last moment. Makes more sense to be an accident, given the circumstances shown in the video.
@@brianredmond4919 no it’s all gravity
If you DROP ANCHOR off the FRONT, the front of the ship will stop moving forward, but MOMENTUM will cause the BACK END to swing around, making it LOOK like the ship turned right, but it hadn’t. It was the back swinging around that made the ship pivot and momentum from thousands of tons of cargo pushed it forward.
👍👍 Thank you for your insight..... I'm appreciating everyone's thoughts on here and obviously haven't made a final opinion on what happened.....(I don't think anyone should this early in the game.) But, if they were intending to cause the most injuries to Americans, why did they call in the Mayday, which caused them to close the bridge and save many lives??
And doesn't such a large anchor take several minutes to drop and then secure itself? It's not instantaneous, right??
Unless maybe, like, some on here suggested, they just wanted to shut the port down....🤷♀️🤷♀️
I saw a report from a marine engineer, ex-navy, and he said a loss of engine power does cause a ship to change direction slightly. The propeller has a paddle wheel effect which pushes the rear of the ship to one side, which they compensate for with the rudder. However when the engine stops the rudder position then causes the ship to change direction a bit until they can correct. This thing is going to be investigated all the way to what the crew had for lunch a year ago, so we should find out if there was a plausible mechanical/electrical issue.
The last ship I was on hit the wharf when the power cut out. If you've been in a situation like this before you'd know how fast this all happens. The puff of smoke from the funnel indicates they went into full astern once engine power was restored. I noticed there were no tugs which could help maneuver the vessel in an emergency. The wind can push a containership from port to starboard rather quickly and in combination with cross currents even more so. Not everything has to be a conspiracy.
The ship appeared to make a deliberate turn towards the support.

Thank you for your work. just so you know, I was subscribed and checked again, and had been unsubscribed. I would urge people to check their subscriptions often.
Salvador Dali painting: Broken Bridge and the Dream. The ship's name is DALI. What a crazy coincidence!!
I stopped paying TAXES 30 years ago. “The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.” Everyone, deep in their hearts, is waiting for the end of the world to come. The world is FUBAR.
The ability to not pay tax in USA is a blessing 😂.
It's impossible in Europe.
$10 says they won't name the new bridge or tunnel after Francis Scott Key. Fort McHenry is not far from here and our community in Baltimore is proud this historic legacy
They name it the Clinton Pizza Bridge. They aren't even hiding it anymore.
I agree,i posted another comment on my theory about that.
After the bridge os rebuilt, itll probably be renamed The Sh'quanda Terrell Wokerson Bridge.
It will be renamed the bathhouse Barry bridge.or the Joe tato
lmao
The port master sends out a pilot to take control of a ship entering port.
If you look on the camera side of the bridge, you can see the lighted channel markers. If you are guessing where to go, you would go in between the markers, not try to go outside of them
It Was Not That Damn Dark the Captain Should Have Seen that Bridge. I Find This as Espionage.
There was a port pilot running the helm.
A ship are steered from the pilot not the captain. The pilot boards the ship way before the ship approaches the port. The captain is not to blame.
I think the Edgar Allen Poe'd him..... they took him down to Fells Point, got him drunk and sent him a sailing.
I think you mean sabotage.
The sped up video of it clearly shows that thing turning into the bridge.
loss of navigational control which happens when you lose power.
Actually the latest report is saying 13 knot cross wind pushed it into the colum....believable that a boat that big can be pushed by 14 knots is up to you.
@@manicmike7724Yes. Especially if you have no way to counter it because your command authority has been crippled with no thrusters. Also keep in mind there was no Tug Boat. Between the current and wind yes it is 100% plausible.
Reports say one of the anchors had been dropped and was dragging but not stopping which turned the direction of the ship.
@@manicmike7724it is... People often underestimate what cross wind can do to ships regardless of their size or weight. Cross wind can litterally blow a cargo ship or even an oil tanker straight to the store in a matter of moments. That's why they need humongus engines both rear and front. This doesn't mean it was an accident but it could be.
JP makes stellar points on free thinking and looking at things objectively. 👏
new here, thank you for speaking up & standing up for those of us who want to make decisions for ourselves!!💚💚
JP 100% agree. I have watched the footage over and over again. As someone who knows basic knowledge about Ships and being a waterman, I can tell you that when a Ship loses power from the engines, It loses control of steering. if that ship happens to be in a turn, the momentum of the ship will keep it in that turn until either power is brought back or the momentum of the ship is slower then the current of the water and wind. While I won't speculate as to whether it was a cyber attack or just mechanical failure, that is outside my realm of knowledge. But what I can say is that even if He missed the Bridge pier with the bow, He would of most likely struck it with the stern, trying to port round it. this can be dimistrated with a compase and a sheet of paper and drawing a circle you steer the front by creating a radius in the back. It does look like he tryed to miss the pier because if you watch closely the bow start to moved toward the channel about minute or so before impact. indicating to me he was trying to avoid impact. I have also seen people claiming to see explosion on the bridge, But Those were Power cables that ran across the bridge instead of under the water. and therfore was arcing from being ripped apart. I have traveled across that bridge thousands of times in my life and Never imagined something like this... this will have some long term implications just based on logistics and traffic. I don't know whether this is terror or not. I can only answer to what I know, based on my own first hand knowledge.
Finally. A sensible comment 👍
It is very strange how the ship hit the pillar perfectly. Hmmmm?
I have crossed over this bridge 100's of times.
Prayers to all the victims and first responders.
I wonder if we will ever know truth about this ?
Sure-- a report similar to the Warren Report on JFK will be forth coming.
Don't count on it!
That was chilling. Seeing cars that were still crossing as the boat approached. My god - prayers to all that died. It hurts my heart that we have human beings that are ok bringing harm to innocent people.
We'll only know the truth once Jesus returns. Not one moment sooner...
you are a liar. if you were not a liar, you would know that the shipping channel goes right under the bridge, and that it is a relatively narrow span.
DUDE! That last car driving through the bridge, crossed TEN SECONDS before it went down! I bet hes thinking of everything he almost did or could have done that caused him to be 10 seconds later and how blessed he is! Holy cow! Lol 🤯
The Francis Scott key, ironically named after the man who penned our national anthem.
I think what stands out for me is that this should not be possible, the bridge approach if built to modern standards would not allow this. So, this is showing the bad and inadequate investment in bridges and other infrastructure. People should be looking at the waste of money on wars and ukraine , that money should be being spent at home in USA (and peace deals agreed elsewhere).
Hey… this was no ordinary ship. The weight that thing carried was enormous. The bridge collapsing didnt phase it. It was not designed to sustain an impact to that magnitude.
Check out the weight of that ship.
As a lay person, I initially thought the same thing- it seemed to come down like it was made of toothpicks. But later I saw a video on one of the news channels who was a structural engineer who basically said forget about it- there's no way to build a bridge that is going to survive a hit to one of it's main pillars from an object this large.
Whatever that might be, the only ''conclusion'' we will get is the controlled one... May the poor souls who lost their lives rest in peace and their families get the support they need.
Thanks for posting!
Wow, I didn't know Boeing designed ship navigation software.
I remember my Brother and cousins watched that Bridge get built. We went every day after school
😢
Wow you've seen a full circle.
@@theeggtimertictic1136 sadly,I have.
Curiosity, willingness to question, self-bias awareness, and free thinking. Wise words, JP!
I heard they were calling the cops the whole time and they stopped all traffic but there were workers on it that weren't warned. Apparently an American captain drives it out to sea, then turns the helm over to the actual captain and they come back on boats that pick the crew up. I live in Ocean city, md and at least to my knowledge no one is going too crazy about it. It is unfortunate and very unheard of but it won't keep us down if the opposite narrative is correct.
workers spoke no English-just illegal migrants
Yes! I am so with you on FREE THINKING! I recently decided to free myself from the polarizing drama of the narrative. I have decided to live HERE and NOW, unattached to the story. (yet still aware.) I am much happier now.
You never know when a bridge is just gonna jump out in front of your ship! Think the bridge un-lived itself.
hey numbnuts, this particular shipping channel goes under that bridge, so they would have to be heading TOWARDS the bridge in order to go UNDER it. I know thats a crazy concept that your little brain cant really comprehend, but just try.
The ship doesn't sink because it's designed to carry ridiculous amounts of weight. Compared to a full load of cargo containers, that little bridge section on top is nothing.
Thank you for this video JP!
Right On JP. I love to see that you are discussing ideas like confirmation bias. I also love you are embracing free thinking.
Remember Free Thinking is more being aware of bias.
Skepticism: Freethinking encourages questioning and challenging claims, rather than accepting them at face value, especially those based on tradition or authority.
Rationality: Freethinkers place a strong emphasis on using reason, logic, and critical thinking to evaluate ideas and beliefs, rather than relying on faith or emotion.
Scientific method: Freethinking often involves applying the principles of the scientific method, such as forming hypotheses, gathering data, and drawing conclusions based on empirical evidence.
Open-mindedness: Freethinkers strive to remain open to new ideas and evidence, even if they contradict previously held beliefs.
Independence: Freethinking encourages forming one's own opinions and beliefs independently, rather than blindly following the beliefs of others or adhering to established dogmas.
They should have a pilot and tugs until the get past the bridge.
I’m here in Baltimore and heard locally (unconfirmed) a harbor pilot was onboard.
@@ApriliaRacer14 This was officially confirmed by officials.
My wife got woken up by the shaking, of the bridge coming down.. I slept right through it. There was a work crew on the bridge, unfortunately. You can see the yellow utility lights from the vehicles.
Edit: FBI was involved within the hour
Totally agree with your point of view
One reason to believe it wasn't a terror attack: it happened in the middle of the night rather than during rush hour.
Shutting down a super busy harbor and bridge does seem a little sus’ though. Makes you wonder🤔
Something worth looking at is the power went off came back on and went off again. If the plan was to power down and drift into the bridge but they were going to miss he would need to turn the screws to redirect the course.
JP…. You’re awesome, brother! I honestly have no idea why that happened…. Time to collect information to put in our judgement scale to see how it tips. Thanks for staying on it!
Great explanation on free thinking. Of course, you need information to draw conclusions, but what little information we may have on a subject, individually, our biases guide us.To recognize these failings can bring to light a reasonable and logical explanation. When you're told not to ask questions by politicians,it is time to ask questions.
As 9-11, FSK bridge collapse is a harbinger. That ship struck the bridge precisely where the buey marked the spot that Francis Scott key conceived the national anthem. Babylon the great is falling
Before 911, we watched them drop towers all over Baltimore. Project homes all over the city turned into piles of rubble. I worked til 530 on 9/11 and at 6pm I was handed a cup of coffee and directed to sit down and watch the news (I don't watch tv) It was first time that I saw building 7 and my only words were "You got to be kidding me .... they did that all over for the last 7 years - that was demolition."
I was told to shut up, because one person can't change the world. However, James Lowry Donaldson is on a monument and Jimmy Donaldson became MrBeast..... but, this Donaldson - just has the right to remain silent.
FYI - Francis Scott Key was the Vice President of the Maryland Bible Society aka JESUIT. THEY were defending themselves (Jews) after they needed "independence" because they were suppressed in 1773
The Jesuits are Vatican, hardly Jewish. There are good and evil in all people's. Just name and call out the bad ones, don't lump everyone together. There have been many really evil Americans but I don't think all Americans are evil.
Those reporters didn't say anything about people being lost they were worried about when the bridge was going to get replaced what horrible people they are
A long a$$ time

More a case of negligence on boat owner maintenance. It suffered a power failure and lost control. Captain switched to emergency power and tried to steer clear but loads required for steering (those rudders are huge and require enormous power to move) and lost power again. Was in constant comms with officials who were notified of the situation and its potential and all did what they could to clear the bridge within the short time between problem occurring and actual collision
What I don't understand is why the whole bridge collapsed not just a short section
Physics…..
It's a truss bridge. Removal of a key support point changes the size and direction (tension to compression and vice versa) of forces in many of the members. Whole bridge unzips like a zipper.
Engineering sir… it’s an amazing thing thanks to physics.
was badly built.
you can find the gps logged path the boat took online. it 100% steered into the bridge.
That info will be deleted.
Do you have a link?
Or, it dropped an anchor, causing it to turn
@imacomputer1234 -- The entire event is online with GPS tracking and real-time video at "What's Going on with Shipping," a maritime RUclips channel by Sal Mercogliano. The ship did not steer into the bridge.
Thank you for the "free thinking" part of your video. I appreciated your comments.
[COMMENT RE-POSTED FROM ANOTHER VIDEO]
"I'm a marine engineer; here's my guess at what has happened.
When a ship leaves port there is a requirement to start stand-by generators for the duration of the voyage out.
But sometimes there are other issues, a switch board failure, or auto-control issue and you can lose the lot. it has happened to me a few times over the years.
Everything goes off-line and the main engines shut down automatically because they have no feed pumps for fuel, lube oil and air.
The emergency generator will usually start - a small diesel housed on the upper deck usually behind the bridge. It gives enough power for the nav gear and some ventilation, and enough power to enable the engineers to get the rest of the gear back on-line.
That is probably driving the lights we see come back on but not as many as before. The engineers then go round the engine room and control room and manually switch all the gear back on. That can take some time.
But because of the emergency the engineers in this case would have to make a terrible decision to start the main engines immediately to go emergency full astern possibly without supporting pumps and almost certainly with some engine damage.
Black smoke is always a sign of incomplete combustion. the massive pumps that supply air to the engine room would be off-line and so the engines would be gasping for air. The fuel would burn but without enough air hence the black smoke.
in full-astern mode the rudder would be useless.
I really hope the anchor team got off the foredeck before the bridge came down on top of them."
Francis Scott Key Composed the STAR SPANGLED BANNER 😢 you can't change my mind this wasn't a message against Murica 🇺🇸
