It's not so much the actual $$$, it's the "I'm the HIGHEST PAID (insert position) in the (insert league)! Me Big Kahuna! It's good to see a few of 'em strike out in FA. It proves there is still some common sense in the owners suites.
Again, Boras thinks the teams are going to pay just to get a "Boras Client." No dude, they might respect your former talents, but they don't actually want to have anything to do with you.
At this point, I’m just over it. If Bregman is coming back, I wish he would just come back. If he’s going somewhere else, I wish he would just go somewhere else. This has gotten very old. And frankly very ridiculous.
Bregman can go play in Mexico for all I care. I think the Astros offer was the highest anyone was going to offer, but in true Boras/Bregman fashion they went shopping with the initial offer. Bregman made a decent career here in Houston and could have retired an Astros legend like Altuve.
Free agency, the Scott Boras way, is a GAME. Players can win, but they can also lose. Go back over the last few years and you can find a lot of players who has played Boras' game and lost, big time. This shows how big the egos are in sports, and proves that 'teams' and 'fans' come in way down the list of importance to them. EGO first.
Bregman is a good player. He’s definitely a core player. But I’d rather have Altuve at 2B and not a 5’5” Altuve at LF. Astros got here by fielding plus defensive OF’ers.
Forget Bregman and Focus on Jack Flaherty to buff Starting Pitching rotation. There are no more outfielders worth a damn to get in free agencies we will need to wait until the trade dead line to work a deal out if we are able to compete and having quality starter in Flaherty will help in that goal.
Boras is only good for top athletes in baseball he is terrible for not the top dudes. I like bregman what the astros offered is fair he is still great at 3rd with the glove his batting has fallen off the home runs and batting average. Plus he always struggles the first 2 months of every season he slumps so badly
Bregman would have been better off not using an agent and just doing a direct deal with the Astros on their original offer.... Boras has added no value to Bregman's situation, and he has probably done some temporary damage to Bregman's reputation in Houston... The reality is that Bregman has not been an All Star since 2019, and no other team has offered a better deal than the Astros. He is a better than average player (not a super star). Boras and Bregman are just playing games and using the Astros as leverage to squeeze the last drop of blood out of the team. I think that the Astros should reduce their offer and the number of years, and give Bregman a taste of his own medicine. He has completely overplayed his hand on this and he looks like a greedy jerk. He is not worth the $156MM for 6 years that they originally offered him anyways. If he won't give the Astros the courtesy of making a decision by February 1st, then it is time to move on and sign an outfielder.
As much as I like Bregman I think he would only be good for 4 more years and that’s about it! It would be stupid for any team to pay him top dollars for anything more than that!
Lol Bregman is killing his legacy in the span of one offseason. The offer by the Astros was fair, if he really wanted to retire with the Astros he would have met the team in the middle. Go get your money Breggy, but don’t be confused when Astros fans give you the side eye if you do come back.
Astros should retract their original offer and only offer a 2-3 yr deal. This happened to Correa as well where they think the market is going to pay them huge deals but had to settle for shorter deal. Houston saves Breg 10 percent state income tax compared to NY or Boston. But Breg is really not worth it check his stats on when he has actually played a full season at the level of his 2017 year. Give him no more than 3 year $75M deal. If you recall when he signed his last deal he was upset he was upset to take $17M / yr and then didn’t come to camp in shape and had injuries for tur first 2 years of his deal. Stay away from this guy or make it a performance contract
Alex Bregman is Dallas Keuchel part 2. I’m sure Keuchel regretted turning down Houston’s $90-100 million offer.
I am so tired of hearing about Bregman. Pull back the offer and move on Houston.
Bregman wasn’t even worth the initial offer.
Boras is a tool for the greediest players, but sometimes, chasing the last buck bites you in the ass.

Boras is using negotiations with The Astros and Dana Brown comments to raise Alex Bregman price since his contract is currently stalled.
Sometimes you get and sometimes you get got. Bregman got got. womp womp.
State tax needs to be calculated in anywhere else
Scott Boras sucks as an agent. Forget Bregman, go get a good outfielder

Why does he not fire Boras?
Boras is a major pain in the ass.

I don't even want Bregman back at this point. He'd be too much of a distraction to the team.

Cardinals have a center fielder and third baseman available….. let try to do business again!!

At this point the I only way I want Bregman back if he takes a VERY team friendly deal. He’s barely worth 20 mil a year.
As much as I like Bregman I think he would only be good for 4 more years and that’s about it! It would be stupid for any team to pay him top dollars for anything more than that!
He said no Astros made moves to fill the holes time for us to move in from him no offer
Is there a draft pick attached to him if he signs elsewhere?
since he rejected the qualifying offer, yes!
@@Noxonymous Thank you! I was hoping so.

Bregman played himself, congrats.
Not even worth the offer he got to begin with he has regressed every year lol
Would Bregman consider signing in Japan for the right offer?
Texans suk and Rockets suk
Maybe teams don’t want a cheater 🤷♂️
Bregman was worth 700K a year… at best.
