Wonderful video! I don't know how much of the local farming you were able to see, (also, I am not Miao/Hmong, I just have distant farming relatives in china) - it's common for chickens/ducks to be raised along crops like bamboo so they eat bugs that prey on the bamboo and nourish the soul with their waste. I am also not myself vegan but the overlap between sustainable practices and veganism/animal rights is interesting to me. So happy to see you were accommodated and welcomed, and looking forward to you showcasing more Chinese vegan food/snacks and culture.
Thank you! I was able to see some mountain homes which had big patches of vegetables, but where I was there wasn't much space for animals and unfortunately most of them were in small enclosures. I'm sure practices vary throughout the region though.
