My healing collar came loose and fell off. I went back to dentist to have it put back in. The dental assistant (or whatever she was) started doing it and it hurt pretty bad. I told her about the pain and she kept going, it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life (and I’ve broke my ankles a total of 7 times, torn ligaments & tendons, plate and 5 screws in 1 ankle, dislocated shoulders, pin in my shoulder, 2 hernias, fractured my skull) I’m just explaining I’ve had serious injuries throughout life, and having this healing collar screwed back on was the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced, I pulled away, it felt like she was breaking my jaw. I went back today for my 4 month follow up, talked to him about the pain and he said the girl that did that the first time “no longer works there he let her go” I really wish I knew more about why he “let her go”. I had to go back to the clinic because I woke up with such a pain in my upper jaw bone, it was 5am and my pain meds had finished. Omg I had to go to the pharmacy because the pain was too much(I’m not very pain tolerant). It was throbbing and the little cover of the screw had fallen off while brushing my teeth the night before. I texted my doctor, went there yesterday. It turns out my stitches opened and the screw was exposed. So that sucked. Anesthesia again and more pain 😂😂 on the good side is today I feel really good. No discomfort at all. I feel better with the stitches tighten up. Look, call your dentist. Ask for help and don’t go googling stuff because it makes us 😬 anxious
@ btw my doctor hasn’t placed the fake tooth yet, this will be another procedure in a few months. First, the screw they implanted has to merge into the bone

I had a sinus lift and a bone graft last year. I needed 3 implants. They did my procedure all at once which saved a lot of money. I had to wait about 3 or 4 months before I went back for the implants (done all at once again) and the after another 4 months, I went back for the crowns. Also, I suggest asking which brand implants they will use for the procedure. Mine used Straumann implants which are top of the line. This makes a huge difference for the success of your procedure, and proper care afterwards of course.
