To anyone who has not tried arrosticini YOU MUST TRY THEM! They are the best!!! I think it's my favorite meat =) That machine is awesome and so are the arrosticini!
Arrosticini is probably one of, if not the top single thing I love about Abruzzo!! You cant have just one!! Anyone that hasn't yet already tried them, definitely must, they will change your life!!
Vincenzo, what a great collaboration you and Nick did! The cubo device produced quick, perfect skewers. It made the process of filling the skewers amazingly easy! The lamb shoulder looks perfect. I can't wait to see Part Two!
I lived in L'Aquilla for a year and I would go to Pescara on my weekends and always grab me these when I was in town. Now I can make em' at home, thanks Vincenzo!
We were visiting my wife's family in Abruzzo in the Summer of 2019, and it was my first time in Italy. First night we were there, we had Arrosticini, and you can't compare it to anything, anywhere else. How blessed I am to have experienced that... We recently made them here in the States, and it's was very close to it, but I'd rather be eating them in Abruzzo. The first time we made it, here, we didn't have the box, but it turned out pretty good. We are lucky enough to have a Forno. According to her family, they use meat from adult Sheep... not Lamb, but in the States, especially in PA, you are looking at roughly $15 per lb for sheep. which is roughly double that of Lamb. It's easier and cheaper for us to source and make this using Lamb. One day I will try it with adult sheep, though.
Arrosticini are sensational, I understand you perfectly when you say that after trying them you fell in love with them. They are addictive, I can't resist! 🤤
Home Cooking Adventure You know I get that all the time but once they try it, they get a savory smoky morsel that to many doesn't taste like lamb. The trick is getting that BBQ taste onto the meat which makes it taste like heaven on a stick... well I hope!
If you don’t like lamb, you probably won’t like it….unless it’s from a lamb that doesn’t have strong taste. Some lamb is very mild in taste. It can be hard to predict
siempre se aprende algo nuevo y nunca habia visto esos utencilios de cocina para las brochetas. hay que hacer unos y copiar la idea. saludos. y gracias.
I miss the traditional spiducci from Abruzzo. My sister in law has the cubo & it is fantastic. So much quicker & precise to make arrosticini. Thank you guys :)
Meravigliosi arrosticiniiiiii!!!!! Come le ciliegie, uno tira l'altro! :) Io e mio fratello da piccoli facevamo la gara a chi aveva più stecchini nel piatto a fine pranzo! :D
+Vincenzos Plate We went to several of places (Sulmona, Pratola Peligna, Roccaraso ect). I had my arrosticini in Raiano. I have been to Abruzzo twice and will be going again at Easter. ( I have an Italian gf hence I often go to sunny Italy:) )
+Vincenzos Plate sounds interesting. Will you be uploading the show here on RUclips? Hehe my grandfather was from Northen Ireland. What I meant by my gf was my girlfriend. She was born in Sulmona but now lives in the Greater Milan area. I will be flying to Malpensa tomorrow to be with her. :)
E spendendo veramente poco!!
Di Grenier ??? only 16 skewers.... that's a kabab/brochette box. Our Cubo is imported from Italy and makes 100 skewers and they are thin and shorter. I hope you didn't buy it because of this video as the 16 skewer box makes them thicker and longer - not the same. Let us know how you go.
Di Grenier Yes, agree confusing! That company uses the word Arrosticini as if its the same to say Kebab, Souvlaki, Brochette, Satay, Spiedini etc.... but these types of skewers are not the same.... Arrostinini originates from Abruzzo and should be roughly 10cm of meat on a 20-25cm long bamboo. The thickness should be 14-16mm thick. The idea of Arrosticini is to cook them fast, just above the hot coals which gives them a distictive BBQ taste. Hence why we have purpose built BBQs - its all a complete system that we are promoting. I believe the 16 skewer maker produces thicker and longer skewers which don't fit on the Arrosticini BBQ plus takes longer to cook. Also... 16 skewers is an appertiser for me.... you would'nt want to invite me or Vincezo over as you will need to use that box about 5 times just to feed us!! LOL.
Yes we did, but our friend lives in Nettuno, on the coast outside of Roma. We were going to bring the bbq home in a suitcase but it was about 2 inches to long!
Just so people know the product I used in this video is imported from Abruzzo Italy. I sell it on ebay and ship global if you can't find it online in your country. www.ebay.com.au/itm/CUBO-skewer-making-box-for-home-Make-100-short-bamboo-skewers-for-your-BBQ-/181423867084
Wow! This looks delicious. I wish I could try them. The technique is new to me. What a great way to cook them. (My settings are showing anyone can reply to my comments. I hope they are working now...please check again.) Thank you.
You have great food ideas on your channel! I found you through Pople BackyardFarm's channel new sub great to meet you :) My grandmother was full blooded Italian :)
Do you not salt your spiducci? My family is from Villavallelonga, Abruzzo and we salt our spiducci while on the BBQ, its done all over our town. I have been to many Arrosto's up in the mountains, and they always salt, maybe its a Villa thing.
Hi vincenzo we do have the same methods we call the meat just like the arrosticcini ( qatban) we have this in our feast of Eid when they slaughter the animal & there's a lot meat they do this we use onions + parsley + black pepper salt & cumin some people use mix of Moroccan spices olive oil they mix all together then they marinate the meat in it
Questo si' che e' un video! Ora vivo in UK e quindi ho molta nostalgia (originario di Penne). Quali pezzature della pecora andro' a mettere nel cubo? Mitico!

Quick question, for those kinds of results do I need to do the shouting ritual in the beginning ?
Good to know. I'll start warming up the vocal chords.
And I want to try all of your fantastic food creations!
Thx vincenzo
Whats the difference between this and Spiducci
Two cute Guy's !
Troppo forti!
Grazie Stefano. Che ne pensi degli arrosticini? Li mangi abitualmente o no? Un abbraccio
In syria we use lamp shoulder too instead off the beaf
