I had heard of Project Gutenberg before. But until this video, I never looked at the site. I will have to make that a site I look to for classic books. I love how you mentioned Brooke Shields when you talked about The Blue Lagoon
Indeed. Gutenberg is the biggest, but by no means the only, source of material. And because of some bad lawyering, there’s plenty of pulp SF available out of copyright!
I shall have to check my Diary (of a Provincial Lady) to find "Emma Hay." I had no idea at the time who she was meant to represent. Hamilton sounds like G.B.Shaw's type of woman...
One away from 550 subscribers Gavin. Well done. Here's to a great Christmas.
Indeed. I’ve been steeping myself in Christmas literature this week.
This is such a splendid idea! Thanks for putting this list together.
Thanks!
Some fabulous choices here. I absolutely love your Gutenberg trawls 😊
Thanks Debs. Thinking of starting a "Read what no-one owns" challenge :)

You’ll love Gutenberg, it’s Aladdin’s cave! And how could you not think Brooke if you’re talking about Blue Lagoon!
I really should look and see what else is available on the ereader, definitely a get around the read your own challenge. 📚

Yep, she seems quite the character.
