So lovely. I will need to stick to the paper ones. The sewing on your snippet rolls makes the roll. thank you for the tip on the sentiment stamps on fabric.
Thank you very much, yes the paper ones are just as lovely, I enjoy doing those a lot too. I love the final embellishment bits at the end, as you say, it completes them. 💗💗
This is awesome, such a fun project. Besides art supplies, my next favourite thing is fabrics and everything haberdashery. 😍 Thanks for sharing with us Kari.
Love this way of doing the snippit roll. One large fabric collage and then cutting into strips. Your embellishments are gorgeous. The possibilities are endless. I miss your blogs where we got to see your beautiful face! I'm excited to hear you're getting more into junk journaling. Would love a video for junk journaling the "Kari way".
Thanks very much Judy, I am addicted to making snippet rolls at the moment, I just can't stop, the best bit is adding the final embellishments. You are so kind about the vlogs, I shall do some more soon - oddly, they take a long time to put together, I do enjoy them though. Yes, junk journaling is certainly pulling me in, I like to combine both art journaling and junk journaling and I will indeed video my way soon, thanks for the encouragement Judy! 💗💗
Such gorgeous pieces, and yes, fun! I would love to see you make a giant creation with your journal page style on a large canvas. I think it would be spectactular, with all the embellisments and colour!
I LOVE these sooooooo much. I think they may well be my favourite things that I've ever seen on A&C RUclips!!! Def going into my techniques folder. TFS 🥰😍😘
Perfect timing! Am heading downstairs to look through my batik fabrics to mend some shirts Boro style. So I can have another pile for snippet rolls. I think I’ll do a Pandemic snippet roll using the scraps from all the frantic mask making in 2020. Thought about an EPP pandemic nap quilt but I’m going to have to extend my life another 20 years to come close to my goals. And you are over 8K subscribers! Hurray! Congratulations 🍾
Thanks Kate, oh, I like the sound of your mended shirts and yay for leftover bits of fabric. Heheh, yes, my EPP project is also a nap quilt, I too need to extend my life in order to complete it. I am really enjoying making snippet rolls, although I seem to be finding lint and cotton in the most unexpected of places! 😂💗
Came for the fabric paper and staying for all. The. Things. 😍 Don't think I have found a creator on RUclips who's making videos that I love as much. Every single one I fall in love with Kari! Thank you and much love from Fife 💜🏴
@@KariGibsonArt I noticed you were an art student in Dundee which is just over the water and a wee bit along from me. The Tay is looking particularly silvery today 😍
Thank you for this, I have been struggling to do snippet rolls. I want to do it so much. I don't think my brain can handle it lol...but doing it as a whole piece and then breaking it down. Now that I just might be able to do it. Thank you xx
Thanks Toni, yes, I love doing snippet rolls this way, it is much faster and then I can enjoy the embellishing part at my leisure. Have fun making some! 🥰
Isn't this so fun! I love it, Kari. I love the varied color schemes of all the snippets too. And eyelets! I'm so happy to see the eyelets! So very Kari lol. Well yes! I shall be doing some snippeting as well. Thanks, Kari!
Thank you so much, Marti, I am really enjoying making them and of course, eyelets have to feature in almost everything I do, LOL. I am glad you shall be snippeting too, I have more I want to make, once all my chores are done! 💗💗
I saw one of your shorts pop up in my feed, a mixed media tag I believe. I had to rush over to your channel and see what other beautiful creations you have ❤
Hi Kelly, I'm glad you're here. I'm going to be doing a tag a day for the 100 day project which starts on the 22nd - you're the first to know about it! ❤❤
Great fabric collage strips. Don’t know if you have any rotary cutter for they do have a few decorative blades, which would give you some interesting edges, plus some decorative sewing threads would be another way in which to add color, texture and design too.
Thanks Linda, I don't have a rotary cutter, but it is on the list and I shall certainly look out for those decorative blades, I didn't know they existed. I do have some fancy threads and I will give them a go, plus I want to do a little hand-embroidery too. 💗💗
Thanks Maria, yeah sorry about the off camera bit, I have vision issues and can't see the needle very clearly, so I cut that bit short. I love your idea of using a snippet roll to widen a dress, that is brilliant! 💗💗
Such a lovely snippet roll! Great timing for me, too. I’ve been thinking lately that I haven’t made any in a while, and I’d like to make some soon. It’s nice to see the style of another person’s snippet roll to get some new ideas! I do both hand and machine stitching; fabric and paper ones, too! 😃❤️
How funny that we are on the same wavelength! I love looking at other people's snippet rolls too. I may have added quite a few to my Pinterest board 😂 💗
I accidentally found your channel this morning. This snippet is brilliant/ I love so many of your ideas. Watching you watercolour paint is mesmerizing! 🤩
Lovely, I hope I can use my sewing machine again this year but we'll see... Love those mini embellishments on the tiny bits of fabric... So cute. Noticed a bit of my broderie anglais their too 😁😁💖
Thanks Elaine, oh yes get your sewing machine out when you can, making snippet rolls is great fun. I wondered where the broderie anglais came from, I love it! 😅❤❤
Hi Kari, loved your video. I’m a sewer and think it’s a fantastic idea. I will definitely be making one, but could you show us/me how you use them in a journal? Do you have videos already? Thanks for all your great ideas.
Hi Helen, thank you very much and yes, of course, I will be using them a lot in future videos, once I have looked and stroked them enough that I can bear cutting them up! 💗💗
Hi Rhoda! It can be used as a bookmark, but I like to use is as a binding for books or for little clusters on pages to decorate them, even for pockets too. I hope that helps! 😊💗
Thanks Suzie - oh do you mean the bulb pins that I dangle charms on or the clips that I use to hold things together before sewing? They are called wonder clips and are really useful, I bought mine from Amazon! 💗

@@terryfraser4952 lol Terry!
Lovely fabric snippet roll. Tfs. 🥰😊
Thank you Margaret, I love making them! 💗😊💗
I think it’s great how you make it on a large piece first, then cut it up!
Thanks Chris, yes it is the most efficient way and by the time I have added more elements to it, it all looks different anyway! 💗💗
LOVE🥰🥰🥰. I am making a snippet roll as I'm watching you do this. Mine is with upholstery fabric on double sided carpet tape. Your roll is lovely!
Sounds great, what a neat idea! 😁♥️😁

Thanks Maria, yes, haberdashery is up there with stationery supplies for me too! I used to spin and weave, so I have a long love for textiles. 💗💗
