Being a retired cast member, if they didn't have permission, protocol is to let them finish and then escort them off the stage, then congratulate them, but since they had permission, it's best to leave it alone. Escorting them off the stage is one thing, but grabbing the ring is reason for termination

Dude just took the ring out of his hand like it was something that wasn’t worth $1,000 or more. It also upset me that he did this with a cheerful tone.
You don't ever just grab somebody's ring like that. There was no performance or anything happening on the stage, even if he didn't know they had permission. All it takes is politely stop them and tell them to get off, not grabbing the ring and pushing his way between them. How is disney going to make this right exactly? Free tickets/passes? Pay for/host the wedding?
What an unprofessional way to handle this. Even if you didn’t know, don’t just snatch the ring like that. He’s lucky that guy didn’t beat the hell out of him
Honestly, as a cast member, you learn how to deescalate situations and how to properly make a situation more magical. He did not show that at all. I’m never the one to want someone fired, but he definitely needs to earn his ears again
I’ve always had the best interactions with Disneyworld Orlando but never in Paris where this happened. I wonder if it’s lack of funding to that park so the training isn’t as excellent
That’s what happens when a company hires based on diversity instead of quality. The way this guy handled the situation showed he had no people skill, which is extremely important, especially for position where employees will interact with customers in person. Disney as a company should rethink its hiring standards for employees.
Even in the midst of doing your job, always remember to be human. A proposal is one of the biggest moments of a person’s life and he took pride in ruining it. This goes far beyond “doing your job”.
The fact that he snatched the ring out his hands is bounds for him to get his ass whooped on the side of the stage. The audacity! Wow. He’s an idiot. I feel superrr bad for the couple and the guy. It’s such a delicate and nerve wrecking experience that takes TIME to prepare for. Smh.
@@frankyvic9457 the news anchor specifically said he asked for permission "at that spot", assuming anything else becomes hearsay. There was no harm in waiting a minute or two to avoid ruining a moment like this. This situation was poorly handled.

If the employee had just told them to get off the stage, it would have been fine and there would be no issues. But just running up and taking a guest's property without permission? Uh-uh, he took it WAY too far.
While I'd say it would have been "not quite as bad," I'd hardly say it would have been "fine" had the employee simply told them to get off the stage. Not only was the man in the middle of a surprise proposal at a time and place that likely cost thousands of dollars and lots of planning as he likely planned for other family and at the very least a photographer to take photos/film the proposal, but the reporter also stated that the man had already asked for and received prior permission to make the proposal at that time and place which is further evidence of the time, effort, and planning that went into his ruined surprise proposal. Regardless, he didn't do it in the less rude/humiliating way and instead its quite blatant that he intentionally did it in a way that would upstage him and humiliate him. What a jackass--If ever there was a situation in which it would be appropriate to "Will Smith slap" someone, this would have been it, lol!

He's lucky he was allowed to prance away with the ring and all his teeth. I'm not saying I would have been violent and ruin the memory, but at least one hand would have been on that little pukes throat until he dropped the box.
This is the definition of people taking their job too seriously. He knew good and well that that was a proposal. He could have just waited . It was so ugly.

Not only did he snatched the ring, but he humiliated this man in front of his finance to be. That's just messed up and sad. It takes a lot of courage for someone to propose and for that to be ruined is heart shattering.
Seeing another report of this incident, a former cast member said that if they had already started the proposal, even if they were in a spot that is off limits, they should have been allowed to finish and then moved along after the applause. As far as permission, if he had permission, all CMs in the area would know. the man probably asked a janitor and thought that was good enough. if he asked a manager, they would have had the report out in minutes.
He stole the ring and ran off stage. He could have asked them if they were given permission or just let the proposal proceed. That's supposed to be the best moment for somebody, and you just steal it from them. Shame on him. Worst part is he seemed ready to snatch the ring.
Some supervisor or policy told this employee to keep the stage clear. He should not have cleared it like this . . . but I also doubt the policy was his fault.
Snatching someone's property out of their hands is never a company policy, and it is personal disrespect. Lots of places have a no-phone policy at the front desk. Does that mean they're allowed to take your phone from you if you're on a call? No. This dude is lucky he didn't get slapped

Grabbing the ring is so wild. There is too much emotion in that move, clearly he was jealous. Having to wake up every day and be such a sad little goblin must be hard for him.
Imagine his surprise when Disney tells him that they gave them permission! 😂 I also fault Disney for this incident. If I was to give permission to somebody for a special occasion/moment, I would round up my employees to inform them that a special request was granted, so they wouldn’t panic.
“Offered to make it right” how do you make that right? They can’t relive the moment again, he ruined their big moment and I’d have been fuming, can’t believe they kept their cool with him
That smug move and perfect timing demonstrated that he truly enjoyed ruining the moment for that couple. I wonder if Disney’s controversial politics were a factor in their employee’s behaviour? At the very least he should be fired.

How can Disney “make this right”? The moment has passed. The Disney employee could have waited for the kiss and then carefully usher them down. This was not handled appropriately.

I’ve always had the best interactions with Disneyworld Orlando but never in Paris where this happened. I wonder if it’s lack of funding to that park so the training isn’t as excellent
That’s what happens when a company hires based on diversity instead of quality.

Seriously @abin? Look at all the other disgusting things going on in this world, this is merely something out of pure happiness and joy. It was definitely way overboard what this employee did, why ruin a simple act when there’s been much worst things going on
@@abinabraham112 But they had permission. In fact the employee should have also been warned ahead of time. Even so they guy had no right to snatch his property like that
@@abinabraham112 AND? There's still a difference between telling someone to get off the stage and snatching someones ring. It's also really stupid of the employee to just take it, I would've immediatly tackled him because I'd think he's a thief.

I rarely want to see someone get fired, but I hope this employee got a serious talking to after this. Like, can we just use our common sense??? Even if they weren't supposed to be there (though they had permission) don't ever snatch a ring out of someones hand while they're proposing!!

That was way too much. He had the audacity to just butt into their proposal, snatch the ring out of his hands and didn't even try to politely ask them to get off the stage. He just ruined the best moment of their lives. What a jerk
if you propose in a public place you should always expect to be interupted.
Wow, the audacity to do something like that is just insane. I understand "policy" or whatever but still, as an employee of the the Disney theme parks, your job should always be to assist in any way in making their time there more magical. He should have at least been written up for doing this. That wasn't just "doing your job" that was done with the intention of ruining their moment. I'm sure if he would have took the time to check, he would have seen they had permission to be up there and even if he didn't have permission, it's a proposal that would only take a few minutes at most. I'm glad they didn't freak out though because I know if that was me, I'd be throwing hands. And the nerve of Disney to "make it right" was only weekend passes or something??? I'd be soooo insulted that they would think that would make it right.
I think the fact that they didn't freak out because they know deeply this might happen because they didn't actually get the permission to go up there
Then grabbing the ring and going in between them. He seemed so bitter with his own life he couldn't let the lovely couple enjoy theirs!!
Permanently terminater perhaps
Should be fired instantly. If this doesn't get you fired what does??? The guy is clearly a scumbag.

Law or not, you cannot snatch a ring from a stranger. That's literally robbery or theft. That employee needs to get his ass whooped so hard.
And if the amount is more then I think $1000 it’s a felony charge. And you know the ring is worth more.
Like whooped hard going to the hospital for days or just a little ass whopping he would be ok and not be in the hospital?
There's always that one guy at work who takes his job way too seriously.

That employee should have been punched in the face
Exactly
Some supervisor or policy told this employee to keep the stage clear. He should not have cleared it like this . . . but I also doubt the policy was his fault.
Figures someone that looks like you would defend someone that looks like that. Low testosterone beta males.
Chocolate rainnn
Snatching someone's property out of their hands is never a company policy, and it is personal disrespect. Lots of places have a no-phone policy at the front desk. Does that mean they're allowed to take your phone from you if you're on a call? No. This dude is lucky he didn't get slapped
I pretty sure they were given permission before getting on the stage
True, but he really could have handled that better. Worst possible cockblock at the worst time possible.
This is sad. Man ruined a proposal, something that couple would always remember. You can see his smug face when he’s telling the couple to get off the stage thing.
It is sad that someone doesn’t even have the respect to let them finish a once in a lifetime moment! The worker was just jealous!
The audacity that guy has to run up and snatch someone's wedding ring and ruin the proposal, that's a moment they'll never get back
They almost had a moment that thousands of other people have experienced, but THIS couple has a funny edge to their story that they can look back on with laughter for years and years to come. It adds an interesting element to an otherwise boring story, really.
Some people were booing at the couple anyway !
Shame on that guy ,he should have not ruin that special moment

They had permission to go on the stage but he did NOT have permission to snatch the ring like that and ruin the moment-
Disney bosses: "over here is going to be much better:
Employee: "That's the exit."
Disney Bosses: "Exactly."
The employee probably did this to demonstrate(to himself) that he had some control over something, no matter the cost of others' emotions, to help fill the void of his purposeless life so he could sleep at night.

When i was 19 i was a security guard in Disney paris they called it like that but my only job was to see if people went somewhere they shouldnt or tell them were to go to do something and its unbelievable how many little spoiled kids and even some jerky adults go to places they shouldnt. The main reason why i left after 2 months was that i was under constant stress because of these people and the for my job pityful 1600€ payment i received montly (in germany some mcdonalds employees get more). It certainly wasnt the right way to handle the situation but i can relate.

Haha yeah, we all know the type.

Yes they went to legoland and proposed there instead

How to make a diamond he probably has plenty of room to shove the coal.
You do realize politics is just PR for corporations right? This was just an employee who got divorced.

Judging by his physique the man would have just annihilated the scummy employee.
How can Disney “make this right”? The moment has passed. The Disney employee could have waited for the kiss and then carefully usher them down. This was not handled appropriately.

@First Comment i think he laughed because of the stupidity of the staff member, not because the couple's proposal was ruined
@@ffirstcomment Indeed what spycrab said. It's funny because that's the protocol, as if he's locked into being the perfect employee and doesn't realize he's ruining their special moment, he just sees an issue and does as he's trained, saying "it's gonna be even better" making it sound like he's helping them (standard), but he's only doing what is normally best for both parties. In this case it's not at all best for anyone, and it's funny because he's oblivious to that lol. Just bring it down a notch Debbie. It wasn't your proposal and nobody was directing it at you. Let the former employee make a comment without you taking out your anger about someone else's mistake on him.
Props to this guy for keeping his cool with how this situation was handled, I would've lost it...
I wouldn't have left without getting his name
I'd say I'm shocked but this is on par for modern Disney
Considering how strict disney can be about rules staff has to follow there is no way that employee didn’t get fired after this
nobody can fire you in France so he is still at it, for sure
But if they have such strict rules to follow, then perhaps he was trying to follow them? He may not have used the right way, but if that's the case, he & other employees must be under great stress to think he was following directions & proper protocol to handle it this way? I've seen some Disney employees freak tf out cause visitors were doing something wrong & if found the whole crew would be fired. So Disney needs to chill while also making sure the staff is more scared of the mouse than upsetting guests?
Lol Disney loves gay people and hates normal people
@@Rosemarie-RUclips- He didn’t follow them well enough. Because as a Disney employee he isn’t allowed to just snatch people’s property. Especially, an expensive ring. So he already broke those rules. He is also supposed to try and de-escalate situated if he can, he didn’t even try to do that a little. So he’s not filling his training. He also, created a P.R problem for them, so no, he didn’t do his job well.
