Just wanted to say thanks for posting this. I test drove a 2010 Mercury Milan (Fusion) recently and it was making this noise. I was able to get it for a great price because they didn’t know what it was. Sure enough, $60 part and about an hour it’s all fixed. This video helped me figure it out!
Thank you for posting. Had suspicions of my transmission mount and engine mount. I’ve changed the torque mount when I replaced my clutch recently but have this same noise from driver side. Thanks again for confirmation
I have a similar problem with my 2010 Lincoln MKZ. When I accelerate from a stop I hear that same roaring/clunking noise and I can feel some vibrations in the car during idle.
Yup it's the engine mounts. I had all of mine replaced. The video was from the mount on the passenger side. Might as well do all 3 instead of 1 and it was not too expensive and pretty easy to do
I didn’t have any transmission issues as the car was shifting just fine. If your car is making some similar noises like the one I posted. It might just just be the mounts. I had all (3) replaced and no issues since. It was not too difficult to do. The mount on the upper passenger side is what caused the noise / clunking sound that I posted. Hope it helps
@jared Mercer can’t recall going highway speed mine was occurring while going slightly uphill. I will say that during acceleration it would make the noise on the highway. Since the engine is being forced back on the mount it would counter balance back. I would change all the mounts like I did with mine and just like me the noise should go away. Hope it helps
Not so much a roaring sound just clunking however. I think the bad mount metal sides were clicking back and forth due to vibration. Hence the first bit of the video. Hopefully my video helped you
@@thedgreek it definitely helped. The car I have shakes very bad when in drive so I do believe it needs motor mounts. But it has the roar like yours does until you reach second gear and then it's a very quiet car, I wish I knew why it made a roar sound. I had a Mitsubishi eclipse one time that had worn motor mount completely and it shook like this car currently does.
@@seancamero8672 its definitely the engine mounts. mine, what's the transaxle Mount, and the upper engine mount. If you have carshield or other warranties, you should be covered
I have a 2010 as well. Does yours have a "roar" like in the video? It only happens going from first to second gear, afterwards the car is quiet. Any idea what that may be?
I have 2012 Lincoln mkz hybrid . My car is at 238k. After I changed my wheel bearing it started to make this sound. I have also had engine mounts. During turns I have also CV joint problem clicking noise you know. I will change all of them. I have all kind of noises and I can easily say that this comes from wheel bearing.
@@thedgreek when I accelerate slowly it doesn't make noise but if I accelerate instantly it makes so much noise . The sound is not like metal sound it is something like too much exhaust sound . I feel the sound from passing her side . I even thought it might be coming from catalytic converter . Do you think it is engine mount ?
@@omerbayrak1808 ok I suggest you take your vehicle to a reliable mechanic for further details regarding your issue. The video I posted was of the clunking sound while driving on a slight uphill. The upper right engine mount was replaced as the cause of the issue. I decided to have my mechanic change all the mounts as well. I hope you will find your issue. I also suggest creating a video and posting it on RUclips for others to know and find. That's what I decided to do and it really helped. Good luck and cheers
I was about ready to start replacing axles and bearings until I saw this video. Thank a lot bud! Autozone tomorrow
Of course! Glad it helped
You know what can it be
I have the same problem when I accelerate hard

My 2011 is making a noise sounds like dragging when I accelerate
I have the same problem, can't figure out what it is, if you do please post your findings please
Alexander Vargas sorry for the very delayed response. The top motor mount was the main problem for the clunky noise. I replaced all 3 and it went away
Dimitri Tsilis did it do this at highway speed also? 60mph+ ..having a similar issue but not until it's going about 60..drives great at 55
Yup I thought I needed a new transmission but maybe it’s just the mounts

Can some one tell me what this noice is it only when I accelerate or turd left plz thank you
If it sounds like what the video shows then it's your engine mounts. Watch the video again to make sure it's the same sound you are hearing
Same with me

It could be transmission noise to
Is the sound the roaring sound? My fusion has this problem too but it goes away once you reach 2nd gear.

A lot of us are having this problem with our Ford fusions
Happening to me at the moment

Yeah I had my car for 3 years before it started doing this. I'm glad this video helped you
