Actually there is something that could give a god damn huge performance boost. If i am not mistaken, i can see bilinear filtering on the textures here, wich means the game is using either a D3D wrapper driver that i never heard of on any doxbox port except for the original windows version or an old rendering mode called RGB Ramp emulation that allowed bilinear filtering and other basic postprocessing effects possible via software emulation, the last one being SLOW as hell.
Amazing! Thanks so much for the video! You may want to try it on the new 1.4.3 version I just posted to Google Play. I've added some CPU optimizations good for about 5% speed increase on the SGII, as well as better stability with Windows.
That mode was slow as hell on most computers of the era, and only barely useable on Pentium class CPU's with MMX extensions. So if possible, dig a little into HL Video options and set resolution to 320x200 use Software rendering and give it another try. I'd love to see if this could give it a speed boost.
Привет,очень интересное видео!Я вот попытался сделать так же,но обломился:D Как ты впихнул в 504мб халфу?И еще вопросик:в 98lite вроде нет directx,отуда его взять?
you could probably manage to get halo 1, diablo 2 ,sims and few others by doing this...as long as on lowest setting that is..i know for a fact halo 1 runs alot faster than half-life 1 on low settings..can even try unreal tourney 2004..i got quake 2 to go online on tastyspleen servers and works great and no lag at all (pain in rear getting server ips with ports to enter correctly tho)
Maybe I'm just hating because of the bad weather here... but I'd rather not call myself a FAN if I was taking 3fps on half-life as "playable". xDDDD scnr (Anyway DosBox Turbo is great! Using it for Master of Orion2 and stuff while TV'ing)
so would you suggest I just try rollercoaster tycoon and possibly (I understand this is more taxing) the sims 1 through dosbox turbo itself, or through an emulated 98lite on said dosbox Turbo. I would imagine the 98lite is redundant and would only slow things down, but I am not too keen on x86 emulation.
What is your dosbox configuration/windows version? I use dosbox turbo daily for playing games and i managed to get windows 95/98 running - but it only works with core set to normal or simple and cpu type pentium_slow. With the core set to dynamic (which is fastest) windows crashes at boot. Even if I set everything right and windows runs fine, whenever i try to run some .exe file (I tried Half-Life and Age of empires), windows reports kernel error - so it's only good for playing minesweeper.
Could you post your .conf file? I've gotten both 98 and 95 to install on separate drive images (including a 98lite micro build) and i cant seem to keep them from page faulting constantly.
I don't understand how you got it to run so fast, on my 1ghz snapdragon phone it runs like shit (0.2fps) 1 frame every 3 seconds. I did the same thing, dosbox turbo win98se half life 1.1.0.0.8 and even force it to run in 320x240 still very slow...
@LSGameChannel can u write a short tutorial how to do this cuz i tried to install windows 98/95 to a 2 gb image file and every time i became the same error when i tried to install a program or game: "this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shutdown"
...this device is not strong enogh for this fucking source? Oh it is someone only have to try to port it :> the source...the emulator laggs..(sorry for my english xD)

How can a Motorola Moto G 2 run this? How much FPS?
20FPS would be enough.

nice , wut about porting the Black Mesa version ;)

This should run reasonably well on a quad core device, right? Just got meself a smexy new nexus.
Could you try the Sims 1, or roller coaster tycoon 1?

need conf file please...
any attempt to install 95 or 98 results in hanging on hardware devices detection...
please help.

to a 2 gb image file and every time i became the same error when i tried to install a program or game: "this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shutdown"
i set cycles to 60,000
put it on speed 2
you can't just post this then not give a tutorial:written instructions would be fine
i can run it on my tab s at 25 fps
enough*
Laggy, works though.
I want half life android make some easy

Oh laggy
