  • Save your transom unnecessary stress by installing a transom saver. This item helps to reduce wear and tear on your transom when trailering a boat. This item was installed on my Load Rite trailer which carries my PolarKraft 1460 boat outfitted with an 8 hp 4 stroke Honda outboard motor.

      Im so pleased I found this video because I was going to buy one of them transom savers, but the shop were I was getting it from told me that it's only recommended for auto tilt outboard not manual tilt outboard. I have a Tohatsu 20hp 4-stroke and was wanting to travel with my outboard on the transom. Did you set the outboard to the first or second tilt position or did you just pick the position to suit the saver length. Hope this makes sense. Lol. Thanks 👍

    Glad you left a comment on our video! For some reason your bell wasn't rung anymore and we weren't getting notified of your uploads! Great video by the way - always good to maintain everything the best you can. We are hoping to have a boat like that someday to do some local fishing.

    There is a flat washer included. You forgot to put it between the lock washer and the frame when attaching the frame attachment bracket. I bought this transom saver after seeing your video. Great product.

    The rounded end of the transom saver is for a boat trailer roller.

    A cheap transom saver is better than not using one.
    I highly recommend using a heavy-duty transom saver that you only need to purchase once like a Extreme Max.

    I purchased the exact same Transom Saver from Atwood. It states on the package “Outboard must have power tilt and trim to use this product “. My tiller motor like yours does not have power tilt and trim. Wondering why it states that? (Listed on back side of package)

    You should provide a link to the transom saver in your description. Amazon has an Attwood Adjustable and Heavy-Duty Transom Savers for $46.50.

    The rounded attachment is for trailers that have a roller dead center at the back. Not a big fan of that setup myself, much prefer the way you got it.

    Thank you for the great instructional. Do you by chance know what is the size of the bolt for the bracket mount (length/width)? And what size drill bit did you use for the hole on the trailer?

    • @BikesBoatsBivouacs
      @BikesBoatsBivouacs  9 месяцев назад +1

      I believe the drill bit was a 3/8 bit. The bolt came with the transom saver. Thanks for watching.

    To remove the clevis pin before you launch need to work your way under and pull the pin. Not that easy

    Nice video. I have the same boat and am looking to put in the casting deck.
    Do you have a trolling motor? Can you control boat from front? Is the motor electric start?
    What are the black ball shaped items on casting deck?

    so when you get to boat ramp you have to get on ground and pull out the saftey pin and reinsert after you put boat back on trailer too?

    • @BikesBoatsBivouacs
      @BikesBoatsBivouacs  Год назад

      I do pull that pin although I could use a bungee sling so I wouldn't have to do it. Thanks for watching.

      Hello, originally I had a 4 hp on this boat and now have an 8 hp on it. The boat goes about 12 knots. If you look in the PolarKraft playlist you can see the videos when I do a speed test with each motor. Thanks for watching..

    The rounded end goes around the center roller, also you had it put together wrong. The round end should have been slid into the other tube with another 1/4 turn. images.etrailer.com/static/images/pics/3/1/315-fxh_14_1000.jpg
