Great motor Justin and looks awesome. I do have one suggestion though as you need to maybe put a piece of1x1 in the gap between the motor and transom that it sits down on something solid as over time or if you hit something you don't break the motor mount. I also agree with another suggestion I seen of adding a piece of plywood on the transom as well to give you a little stronger transom as that would be some that you could attach the 1x1 to that it also has something solid to attach to as well giving you a more solid transom as well. As I don't know if you know how much wear has already been put on the transom with bumps and bangs it's took from the old motor and stuff it may have hit. Maybe even make the 1x1 a little long that it extends pass the motor mount that a screw could be screwed in at the top into the transom to hold the 1x1 better as well. And as you know silicon is your best friend when you own any boat. Just speaking from what I seen in my Marine Patrol days as not a boat builder but have seen some boats like that where the motors that size tore out the transom because they were not strengthen a little more. Best wishes on your new motor and be safe as can't wait to see how she runs.

Going to see the VA ENT doc on June 10TH . Report says biopsy recommended . I have lump on the lefts side of my neck under my cheek . Please keep your fingers crossed for me . After your bain surgery did you have to go for chemo & radiation treatments ? Thank You Justin . Hope you get that darn Bobcat . Justin I can't believe the new motor didn't come with a propeller . Enjoy your new boat motor . It sure sounds quiet .
Four stroke motors only use fuel. Not mixed. The oil you put in is the crankcase oil for the bottom end of the motor. The motor runs straight gasoline like a car.
They make solar powered trickle chargers. Also...youre going to want a cranking battery to start the motor. The battery for your electric trolling motor is most likely a deep cycle battery. Its designed differently from a cranking battery. Youll drain the battery fast. But with a solar powered trickle charge battery charger you would avoid the battery going dead
I would suggest clearing out some of the brush where the bobcat was, so it's harder for him to get closer without being seen and have a more open shot.
if possible mark the holes and drill them with the motor off to save the powder coating on your shiny new expensive motor. I got a new suzuki 20 hp, fuel injection, garden hose wash ports, totally worth it.
That thing is quieter than the 6hp I just got for my 12' Jon Boat. But wow the Mercury pushes my little Jon at 18mph around half throttle with only one person in the boat! First time in my life I ever felt a boat go up on plain and what a weird feeling. You are going to have fun with that bigger Merk I think.
with 2 people and a full load on my Jon boat a 9.9 will push mine at 22-23 mph full throttle. just one person and all the gear around 26-27 mph. probably just one person no gear around 30. planes out at around 4\10 throttle with 2 people and full load. ive felt getting up on p!and my whole life because my dad has 25 on his 15 ft skiff
Stainless bolts will gald up when you use an impact on them. I would replace that one so you don't have to worry about it loosening up and leaking. You can use bar soap on the threads when you put it on and prevent the friction that causes that.
I’d always recommend a 3 battery set up but if you don’t wanna do it buy a high cca motorcycle or jetski battery (powersport) and just Keep it handy if you kill your battery and need something start motor in emergency

i got me mercury 9.9hp last year and it had straight out of box problems connections were loose and screws as well it was leaking fuel and had eletric start problems. so better make sure everything is tight and it does not leak fuel.
Justin the new motor sure is purdy lookin Yeah ! Buddy ! I got some no good news I had a CT scan w/IV contrast on my neck on May 14 TH . The report says possibly lymphoma or leukemia .
You might want to consider putting an engine hoist in that garage. You pop the cover and hook into it right on top of the motor. Easy-peasy.
I just repowered my 1966 13 ft whaler with a 2009 50 hp Merc 2 stroke that I got for free. Can’t wait to be back on the water
Cant wait to see you get a prop on the crispy machine!
Great video man. Soon, you'll have literally everything so your viewers have no excuses to get out there and experience the world.
Well, id bet to say next year rob and him will be in a Phoenix... they will def not be running a skeeter anymore! Good on them!
I would suggest clearing out some of the brush where the bobcat was, so it's harder for him to get closer without being seen and have a more open shot.
Who knew that the "Milk Girl" the old OSG herself and the brain of the Googan Squad was also a boat motor installer also? She rocks!!
if possible mark the holes and drill them with the motor off to save the powder coating on your shiny new expensive motor. I got a new suzuki 20 hp, fuel injection, garden hose wash ports, totally worth it.
If you want to run the motor, just fill up a garbage can with water. It works and what we used to test outboards.
I love how quiet and efficient newer outboards are
Yeah you’ll love it until your mercury shuts down 3 months in
Just got a 30 exactly like that it runs great and I love it
That thing is quieter than the 6hp I just got for my 12' Jon Boat.
Definitely get a transom saver for that since it’s such a big/heavier motor on that little transom
Now that's a crappie boat. I always look forward to the videos. The cat, I think I would stay strapped up for a few days if he's wise to the traps.
I saw you while you were doing your video in the headquarters and I love your videos
Looks good on the crispy, agree probably needed a 15" shaft but all good . Son, you will be able to Wa Bam something soon!!
Not only did she come out and help you..... she looked good doing it!!!
Dude. You The Man. God Bless. And Enjoy Your New Mercury. 👍😎
Stainless bolts will gald up when you use an impact on them. I would replace that one so you don't have to worry about it loosening up and leaking. You can use bar soap on the threads when you put it on and prevent the friction that causes that.
I’d always recommend a 3 battery set up but if you don’t wanna do it buy a high cca motorcycle or jetski battery (powersport) and just Keep it handy if you kill your battery and need something start motor in emergency
just got a brand new 25 hp for my 14 ft jon boat and it hauls!!!
