Thank you for this. I did the same thing. I got the car jacked up. And said "before i crawl under here, where tf is the drain plug and filter?" 2nd video of yours that saved my day. I would only suggest that you only use Full-synthetic where full-synthetic is suggested. The reason being you cant be sure what ratio the blended synthetic could be. 50/50? 20/80, 60/40? How do you know.
Manufacturer specs are 4.8 . There's good reason as well. These motors have a slight consumption issue that Kia and Hyundai are aware of. And you can or will notice light ticking at startup brteeen oil changes because you can be up too 2.5 quarts light before the next recommended oil change. I can say this from personal and professional experience. Both as an owner of a couple Kia's previously one currently. And as employee of both Hyundai and Kia dealerships and service in the past. Still good cars, just have to be on top of your maintenance game. If you can take care of them. They will last for a long time on the road
If you do your own oil change, you don't need to replace the crash washer every time you do it. I have use three to 4 times the same plug washer. Tight snuck, next time flip it up to the other side and tight just a little. next time do it again and tight just a little more and so on. Do not tight to kill it. Use your mind.
Thanks! Such a tight fit under a 2015 with the undercarriage cover couldn't fit a tool in there so had to break loose by hand, needed to come watch the video to be sure I had it right with counterclockwise, seen I was right and went back out and used the last of my strength and got it loose finally!

You should start the car, check that the oil light goes off, or the gauge shows pressure, Shut the engine off, let it settle for a few minutes, then clean the dipstick, reinsert the dipstick and check the level.
On my 2916 KIA Soul the plastic hatch foe the oil is not straight down underneath the oil plug. Maybe if the oil flows out at a 45° angle, instead of pouring straight down.. then the plastic hatch in the plastic belly cover or belly blanket is in the right place. I don't know. I took the plastic belly cover off too.

You say 4.8 quarts of oil are needed (1:52 mark), but everywhere I see online say 3.8 liters which is 4 quarts.
He might be considering the oil filter as well. I don't know, just suggesting.

Every single 1.6 I've done or read takes 3.8 quarts ,is there something idk ? Otherwise very good video.
Probably turbo model? My 1.6 should also be 3.8
The filter takes about a quart, 3.8 + 1 equal 4.8

Is that oil filter a 9688?
You have the filter vertical, use your mind and fill it with new oil.
What size is the copper washer?
17MM
