This is so beautiful. I love watching our videos because they're so encouraging. It really makes me want to make everything you share with us. Thank you! and Happy Holidays!
You have a great style of delivering the tutorials and I love the edited, shortened length too. I used to be a television and radio journalist so I do appreciate these things. Thank you for your inspiring projects. I own a Scan N Cut with no plans to own a Maker. But my plan for 2019 is to learn and create using all sorts of methods and materials, using my cutter, and my sewing embroidery machine!
Thank you, I appreciate that! The editing is time consuming, but I know what a difference it makes. I'm happy you like it! I hope you make many wonderful things in the coming year!
Love the Christmas Village and decided to make some for family and friends this Christmas. I played around to see if I could add names to a house, i.e., St Claire Churce, Wilson Hotel. I think this just adds something special to the village. Thank you for all your work to keep me motivated with my new Maker!
Oh my goodness Jennifer! You have so many beautiful paper crafts🥰. I was checking to see if you had a Santa, and found so many others. Now I want to make them all! 😁. You are very gifted indeed. Maybe when you can, you can create a paper (card stock) Santa also! I’ve got to get busy…you have so many I want to do that I don’t know where to start first…but it may be the train. It’s beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us! 🥰❤️
Hi. I am brand new to cricut, like days old, and you were recommended to me. Thank you for this amazing video and project. I was able to make it with very little confusion. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this! I ended up making 8 of these this year for co-workers. Wrapping them up with a little twine and two electric tealights with auto-timers. Comes out to only a couple bucks each but has a great handmade quality. I just used vellum paper and a gluestick in the end because I have some bad memories with spray mount from college lol
This is definitely one for me for Christmas, and how gorgeous was the stars showing through by accident?! So I will be mindful of what I put on the reverse side of the cardstock.
Hey, Ms. Jennifer, you've got one subscriber here from the Philippines. I love watching your videos... it's been my dream to have one cricut maker because i do my crafting with scissors painstakingly, and it consumes a lot of time. Your videos inspire me, and it helps a lot. Keep doing more. God bless your heart and your generosity is the best, coupled with your bubbly ways in "show and tell". Keep it up!
You aren't my only subscriber from the Philippines, Janine, so you do have neighbors! Thank you so much for your nice words! I love "show and tell," especially to such great people like you! 😃
Beautiful! I'm excited to try this out with my new cricut. It looks like it will flat fold nicely to send to family in the mail. :) Thanks for sharing!
Yes, you can use my SVG cut file with a Cameo so long as you've upgraded Silhouette Studio beyond the free basic edition. The .SVG file format is only readable in Designer edition and Business edition of the Silhouette Studio software and will not work in the basic edition.
This is so beautiful!! Thanks so much! I had one issue which is the vellum in the back is pulling the paper down into curling inwards. I used the heavy glitter stock paper as it’s very sturdy, and glued the vellum to the glitter part. Not sure why that happened. Will try again :)
Hello. Thx 4 the vid's. Hoping u can provide some pointers. Having trouble getting complete cuts on imported svg/dxf files of my own creation on my device. 4 example, on small 1/8" squares, the blade stops just short of the corners prevent'g the square scrap from detach'g. I use 2D SW, import dxf to Inkscape, then import svg to Cricut. (Import'g dxf directly is worse.) Lines all look good to go, but it cuts as though there are breaks/gaps in the lines. Cuts fine using purchased svgs. Blade is new. Not a pressure thing. Any design tips to ensure continuous cut throughout?
I have a Cricut Joy and it's perfect for the many cards I love to make. But I was wondering, can I adapt things like the Christmas Village and make it with my machine.
I made this yesterday and it turned out beautifully, but I do have a question. You referred to your folds as score lines. I needed to do some alterations, and your lines are actual small cuts instead of score lines requiring a scoring tool. Your lines worked way better than mine, and I wondered how you created those. I assume that is a perforation??? Also, is there a way to weld something back together without getting rid of those lines?
I create my designs in Illustrator but here is a tutorial on how to attach the score lines in Design Space. jennifermaker.com/cricut-scoring-tools-tips/
Jennifer wouldnt not be better to spray the backside of the card instead of the tracing paper so that the tacky bits is on the card not the paper and doesnt curl the paper to much when position it on the card, love the village by the way
Hi Jennifer. I've been trying to cut the parchment paper on cricut maker & ! cant get it properly cut. The machine kept on pulling the parchment paper from the mat. What is the setting for that?
Hi Evelyn! There is a "parchment paper" setting on the Maker you can use! Also make sure that your blade is clean by wadding up a piece of aluminum foil and stabbing your blade into it (gently, so you don't hurt yourself!) many times to rub off any extra "bits" that might be left on it! But, I don't recommend parchment paper for this project as it is a bit tricky to work with. If you have either vellum or wax paper, that would be easier for you to cut! 😉🥰
So, I'm new to the whole world of Cricut. I just received a Circuit Joy as a gift and am deciding if I even want to bother. Anyway, I'd like to try the village, I downloaded the pattern, but what does one do with it? The video shows the village already cut which doesn't really help.

I got the paper village cutout very nicely but the velum just wasted 2 sheets starts to cut nice pulls away wrinkles folds while cutting I sharped my blade with aluminum foil must be my mat..oh well try again later patience is GONE! :(
On the mat, there are no score lines. I can't figure out how to make the lines that need to be score lines become score lines. The "attach" feature doesn't highlight either.
Ah, that's the great thing about this design -- the score lines are built in. Instead of cut lines you have to convert into score lines in Cricut Design Space, I made dashed lines and pre-attached them. They are already in place and ready to go. I did it this way because I wanted it to be a simple project for beginners. Just upload and click Make It. :)
I've tried this 4 times and cannot get it to cut without tearing the cuts dragging the paper. Very frustrating. Ive tried it on 4 different settings with 2 different mats Ive cleaned and sharpened my blade. The cuts are VERY tiny. This is definitely not a beginner easy project.
So sorry to hear you're having trouble getting this cut. :( I do have a post about how to troubleshoot this. If you would like, check it out here: jennifermaker.com/cricut-cutting-problems-tips-cleaner-cuts/

Pretty cool, huh, Abby? 😄

I love this christmas village. I am making it right now. What about the spray box, in what movie did you talk/show that?
want to try this
Oh, Teresa, please do! 😄
It would be pretty to hand cut a few different piece of colored vellum paper to put behind the tree.
Absolutely!
I never thought of wax paper. Great tip. I'm now wondering if parchment paper would work too? Probably too thick.
Maybe tracing paper!
Hi there!!!!! Love love your channel! How do you cut the vellum with out the windows??
Hi Jeanine! I'm not sure what you mean exactly as the vellum behind the windows and doors is meant to diffuse the light. 💗
This is adorable! I would LOVE to see you (anyone?) make a goat! I have customers asking for goats!
Great idea, Deb! Until I can get to that, what about one of these?? 😉

Hi there, I need help. What settings should I use? It keeps breaking some of the rounded windows and doors off? Thanks!
Make sure you have cleaned your blade by poking it into tinfoil. Also, always set your pressure to "More."
My cricut tears on the little windows. I used a new blade. Any suggestions to keep that from happening?
