I’m the person who sold these photos to Gary and JF. These negatives were in my father’s archives since the 1960s. It was more work (than I can convey here in words) to scan and print those images, and keep them off the internet until they landed in your hands. Those two plastic bins each had one set of prints. The thumb drives have digital files of all the scans. Everything you see there was professionally archived and preserved, making sure that nobody copied or took photos of those images and shared them on social media.
The print that has the red pinstriping was done by Von Hot Rod when I showed him the prints at a car show in California. His decal is on one of the boxes. I’m adding this because I heard you question why one of them was pinstriped.
Thanks for sharing your video. It was fun to watch. Especially the part where you show the film negatives. Haha
Can’t thank you enough ❤️ these are great !!!
JF, I am 75 years old and I remember Von Dutch back in the 1960's. Hope you publish them. I would buy it.
The first pics of the flame job on the 57 Ford was so sick
Howard was an artist , machinist, knife maker , gun maker, did work for McQueen among others. He was a complicated man who by all accounts did not suffer fools gladly.
Hi JF, I onced worked in a print shop. When digital copiers became the standard in the industry, we had to remember to include in the lease agreements that we would own the hard drives and remove them before the machine was sent away to be disposed of. I am quite sure that those photos are still on the hard drive of the machines used to make your digital prints. You should look into that... Take care and thanks for sharing. Roland
OMG, that's so amazing! Thanks for sharing this history with us all.
Great video
Awesome !!! Thanks for Sharing !!
Thanks for sharing didn’t quite understand the playboy connection
One of the cars Von Dutch painted in the photos has a playboy bunny on it and was believed to be owned by Marylin Monroe
The American Pickers Mike and Frank located Von Dutches VW powered motorcycle in New England a few years back.
A lady had it stored in her back garage and knew what she had too.
I learned something today ❤
Very cool!!
I wish you could do a slideshow of those pictures so we could see them better thanks for sharing enjoyed
WOW! AWESOME!
Have a 50's custom 53 chevy magazine car been stashed since the 60's im going to bring out when I get some interest going. It's on my channel
That was extremely interesting and entertaining; thank you all for sharing!
Hi JF, Please see my previous comment. The photos were reproduced digitally. If so, they're on someones hard drive inside the machine. They won't be accessed by the people that did the work, but they can be reproduced by a technician that knows how to access the hard drive. I would go as far as to have a confidentiality agreement drafted up by a local law firm. Have the shop where the photos were recreated sign it. Find out which company made the equipment used, and have them sign it in order to retain your property. Hope you had a lovely wedding. Roland
Hi JF, In order to do Von Dutch justice, you have the makings (the images) for a book on this piece of automotive history. Speaking to a publisher would be in your financial interest. Roland
