Don't think I had the actual dolls though, so my mom probably got them at a garage sale or something. I didn't even know they were birthday themed! I actually like the 1999 one. I think it look elegant. But the 1998 one....yea. Not much needs to be said about that. Honestly no biggie on the tech issues imo. I like having the bigger images so I can examine them better lol. Of course being able to see the list is nice, but I'm happy being able to see just as a finished product too 😊

As for the video it sort of tracks that you aren't into the over the top birthday Barbies because you aren't particularly fond of sweets themed dolls that also have that over the top sweet cutesy aesthetic; which is something I'm fond of, so it makes sense that our opinions are almost flipped here (I actually liked the simpler ones as well but if I get a "birthday" themed doll I want it to SCREAM birthday). IMO the 1980s one is the worst because it's neither elegant or over the top birthday themed, or 1983 because the dress looks tacky and it's not pure 80s enough to work with the bizarre hair.

As someone who owns Birthday Party Barbie (the one with the weird blowing mechanic), I can definitively tell everyone that she is an absolute mess. The dress is made of a stiff satin that feels really weird and the crimped hair gets messy very easily. She deserves the Burn It ranking The quinceañera Barbie unfortunately looks basically like a recolor of a wedding Barbie I own. She's really pretty but not original unfortunately.
