I can confirm this is a resized texture issue. Using FSLTL models after mush testing. Only a fresh install of UN resized textures works. Any resizing of the textures to ANY resolution causes them to not show up. They ARE being injected into the sim but they are invisible. PUSH tugs will show up for example with BATCs injector. But the planes themselves are invisible.
Yes, found this as well (actually it is in the BATC troubleshooting guide) I had resized the fsltl textures and nothing showed, but it di show in LNM and the BATC map, once I replaced those with the full size files all was well again.
Verified with FSHud as well. The simulator itself does not seem to be injecting resized models. However, unlike 2020, it appears that 2024 handles injected models far better and there really is no FPS gain to the scaled down models in 2024.
Came here to say the same! It's an issue with the reduced textures mod. Luckily I still had the 4k FSLTL models stored elsewhere and once I switched the folders I had working traffic again
Very interesting video, thanks Gavin. I had exactly the same experience with FSLTL for BATC. It's a bit of a mystery, but what I think happened, in my case at least, was that my initial FSLTL install was incomplete. The FSLTL base models folder I copied into the 2024 Community folder was missing quite a lot of stuff. Just like you did, I then changed the download directory and all was good.
"Update: MSFS2024 version 1.2.7.0 has been released. The good: The issue with the sim parking aircraft on the same spot over and over has been fixed Lighting direction on aircraft models appears to be fixed as well. The bad (still exist in latest update): Aircraft parking is still not based on parking codes. The sim seems to prefer to use parking with no airlineCodes assigned, before using other parking. But aircraft are not placed in the scenery with any attempt to match the livery parking codes and that in the scenery. Aircraft can get stuck in pushback. It appears that if the taxipath leading to the parking spot in the scenery is short, the aircraft will get stuck in pushback and never go anywhere. Instead it, slowly starts to rotate sideways, and remains in place. The spinning slowly increases... similar to an old issue in MSFS2020. Aircraft on arrival is pretty much broken. Aircraft often never switch to a landing state, instead, flying to the center point of the airport at a low altitude before finally crashing offsite, and then attempt to taxi back to the airport. You will see the occasional landing, but its not common right now (this may also be an issue with in-sim live traffic) Some aircraft seem to ignore flightplans, and similar to the old days in MSFS2020, will turn around and head the opposite direction of the destination airport. And quite a few less serious issues with jetways, ground vehicles, preflight and postflight times, etc. Therefore, at this time, we still can't recommend using FSLTL with MSFS2024. You certainly can if you wish, but as these issues aren't issues we can fix or workaround with the injector, we can't offer support in MSFS2024's current state. Appreciate your continued patience, and we'll provide more updates when we have them. " Far from a "sterling job" but yes, it does work-ish.
This is what I did after discussing with you and I posted the solution from the BATC discord because their documentation was not so explicit like your video. Nevertheless BATC made a very good job with their traffic injection.
Only issue I had with BATC and FSLTL was if you have resized the FSLTL models to 2K for example, then when using BATC you cannot see them in MS2024 after the latest patch (patch 3). It will only work if they are the original 4K versions, which is a pain as instead of about 14.6 GB at 2K, they are about 40.7 GB at 4K! MS2020 however works fine with them at 2K.
I suspect it’s because of that mod that reduces texture-size. I remember you did a short review of it a while ago. I read -somewhere- that that’s what causes the models to not appear. I first tried this yesterday and used my old directory with the files in it. And it crashed the sim completely. After reinstalling fstl from the FBW installer, everything worked as it should. The directory size was about doubled as I also did that magic mod thing is to reduce the texturesize so from my experience, that might be the culprit here as well..
My humble opinion: Its better. More realistic looking and less of a hit on FPS than default. Its fully compatible with 2024 now and I've personally not had any issues and have flown in a lot of different weather scenarios. Other peoples mileage may vary.
What about these 'barking dogs' that BATC are so apologetic about but the fix ( a file download) doesn't seem to be available? Does everybody have that? Any way to fix it?
Good stuff - I will go ahead get Beyond ATC now it seems it can use and inject the FSLTL models. To be very clear (I did ask in your last video) am I right in saying that Beyond ATC needs models from other programmes for its injection system to work ? Thanks
I have followed all the instructions and settings for BATC traffic injection and finally got an aiport populated by realistic aircraft in suitable liveries. BUT....nothing moves, there's absolutely no taxiing, or take-offs or landings. What am I missing?
Thanks for anorher very useful video. Can you do a video on what setting are needed in FSLTL & MSF24 so we can all see the same thing in multiple player.
I just copied the folders and pasted into the 2024 community folder. I'm getting some planes double parking or on their sides. Do you think that would be the culprit ? BATC is working so far. I assume the Online traffic is not available, which I also get, is MSFS related ?
As Gav says towards the end - reinstall. 😊 This isn’t a specific MSFS or addon issue, says silly me with some general IT management on my back… There’s often more to an installer application than what (in this case) goes into the community folder. From some simple INI-files, to registry data or API middleware, to checking files & settings... So, the devs make installer apps to take care of all this other stuff too. Hack on your own if proficient (many are, good fun & frustrations), or simply run the installation app (or script, guideline, how-to etc.). It’s a computer, after all…😅
I had no issue getting BATC to work using FSLTL. I did install this after the big update. What I can't do is turn AI traffic off even though I have it set to off. Really annoying as I get planes parked on top of each other. Has anyone cured this or are we waiting for ASOBO?
There are several settings that need to be OFF. There's a useful set of instructions about this on the BATC website - be sure to look at the instructions specifically for FS2024.
@@brianking5058 I already have all these settings off...you cannot use BATC with the FSLTL injector. Only use BATC's own injector which seems to work so good for me but some liveries are only white. I may need to download AIG Liveries as well, i'm on FS2020
Thank you very much brother for this great video, i have a question please if you can help me with it , i used to vmr my aerosoft simple traffic addon for my vpilot and it was working perfectly with fs2020 , can i use aerosoft traffic in my fs2024 vatsim vpilot too? One thing I noticed in FS24, I did not see any extra VRAM usage using BATC traffic with FSLTL 4k pack.
Possible to make a comparsion video activesky vs default MSFS24 wx engine? Saw that activesky is now supported for 2024 but don’t know if its better
