- In this video Jasmine visits Kanbae Towers which is a newly built condominium in the Yankin area of Yangon. Yankin is a highly-sought location of Yangon as it is close to shopping malls and Inya Lake.
Jamine gets to see 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom apartments all at different price ranges. She also gets to visit the pool area of the compound. Watch this video to get an idea of what the monthly rent is for a brand new condo in a trendy area of Yangon.

$800 1 bedroom unfurnished is way too much in my opinion.
i think so, $500 in Hanoi you can have 2 bedroom, maybe 3. And it's even better

These are more than apartments in expensive areas in nj in the usd. Thats a problem. Im wondering who the hell can afford these.
Can you interview someone that is living in these condos? Because I want to meet the lunatic that pays so much for so little in Southeast Asia.
A lot of the "lunatics" myself included probably have a job in Yangon so their company pays or else - what's the alternative? You gotta live somewhere and yes the market for housing is more expensive over here.

Information for everyone stating rental prices are sky high compared to Bangkok or which ever city you have in mind. The answer is simple. Supply and demand. There are very few presentable apartments and condos available hence the outrageous rental fees property owners can charge. Also, the country might be poor but there are hundreds of billions of dollars unaccounted for from drugs, illegal trading, Jades and gems floating around. Chinese money for new condo developments are not helping either. The "oh, its a poor country, who can afford that sort of rent?" logic is too simplistic.

One thing the foreigners should know..dont make any booking ,pre-paying..if you are abroad.Negotiate only in person when you get there.The owners have a stupid way to think about negotiations..they put someone to call (even if you have set the price and made a pre paying-and sign a contract) saying that his wife doesnt agree with the price..so the whole thing is Canceled if you dont agree by the price they give-and they dont give you back the deposit.You need to call the tourist police.They did this to me 4 times.so ONLY IN PERSON WHEN YOU REACH YANGON.

If you compare it to Thailand, you've an accaptable condo to a very unacceptable price.
Expensive. For 1000 $ you can live in the center of Prague! And not in development country.... The naivety of Burmese developers & accommodation agencies is amazing. She forgot to mention that you need earplugs when you are sleeping.
