This channel is a Canadian treasure. I love and appreciate everything all of you do. Noah you've been out lately man I'm jealous!
Thanks, I really appreciate the kind words
Probably the best adventure channel on RUclips. First class photography. He definitely makes you want to get out there and see the province!
Thanks so much, Phil!
I just watched the 6+ hour Labrador/Quebec piece...the first time I have seen this channel...now this one. Both are a fair amount more extreme than even ardent venturers are capable of...very entertaining but not doable for most. There is a reason "Lost Lakes" has a significantly larger following. Both are excellent in what they offer.
What an amazing mainland moose sighting! Soo lucky to capture one in the wild on camera. Perfect way to cap off a pretty awesome looking trip!
Yeah I somehow thought the moose would be bigger 😅
@@tuckerandi must be stunted by the diet and location 😬
This has quickly become my favourite camping/canoeing channels. The editing, the cinematography, the commentary, the education about geoography/science, it's all amazing. I love how you don't leave too much in the videos too, just the right amount. Great stuff Noah
Amazing. Thank you!
I was out grinding through the Tobeatic while this was published this week. I went from Sporting Lake stream, down through Buckshot Lake, up to Cofan cabin, then down the Shelburne to Irving Lake. We portaged over to the Roseway watershed and took out at McGill Lake access point. What a trip. We noticed your comments in the Cofan log book from your fall trip there. That first leg of our trip before Cofan was BRUTAL - great paddling scenery but the portages were so challenging.
What a slog! You must love huckleberry by now
love this. thank you. x the names are so evocative 'upset falls' every name has a story still. I love that that cabin was in such great condition - and so nicely built - the kitchen, and a bedroom. it is so fantastic that they're anarchic - as in social anarchy - people just. being good. I will never get to do this, for all sorts of reasons, so just having this is amazing. I do have birds I love in my garden tho - but in London, UK, so seeing a chickadee is sooo fantastic - they're insanely CUTE!!! just awwwwwww
What an amazing glacial area. Never seen anything like it before. Also enjoy the information on the area that you share with us.
Awesome, I loved the moose imitation.
🤣Come here yah little rascal. After draggin an 80lb canoe through the bush your spirits are still amazingly high.
I've watched a few videos (more than a few) of Northern Scavenger and did not know you were from Nova Scotia. Thank-you for your videos - they are wonderful. The geological info is interesting as well. Have a great day! 🙂
Thanks, originally from Ontario but I've called Nova Scotia home since 2017
I watch everything you do. Always enjoy it. I’m originally from New Brunswick and have strong connections to Nova Scotia including having lived there before I moved out west. I’ve never understood why New Brunswick is full of moose and in Nova Scotia I’ve never seen one. And you mentioned that the inland moose is endangered! Interesting!
It's odd we don't have more considering how many are to the north
You sure are a courageous young man to wade through all the swamps and fallen treed forests . Nova Scotia has so many lakes and swamps and fast flowing streams . My husband and I enjoy watching your videos . Well done . Thanks for sharing . We live in the Windsor NS area .
I'm happy to hear you enjoy the vids :)
Thanks Noah. I really enjoyed watching.
What a lovely channel, more proof of how wonderful Canada 🇨🇦 & its citizens truly are.
Thank you for the adventure and the laughs. The moose 🫎 just killed me 😂
I hope you have a Patreon 💰 page 😊
Another excellent adventure. Thank you!
Hec of a voyage 🖐😎👍🛶
Excellent show as always. Your comment about your younger self not believing how much interest song birds would bring in 10 years time is the same for me, so true.
Great to see that country is still pristine. 40 years ago I was lucky enough to paddle and camp along all 5 of the rivers that originate in this watershed. Back in those days there were very few marked portages, so it was lots of bushwacking like you had to do.
It looks rough and tumble bush. The topography and geography is so different to Australia and I want to explore Nova Scotia so much. Thanks for taking us on your journeys and sharing your unique experiences. Callum @ Brisbane.
Thanks Callum, I'm sure it's a little different down unda
I love your channel. Your land is beautiful 😂
I love how you just say mater-of-factly 'i'm going on a 4 day trip through the wilderness and canoe white water' and the bushcraft channels sound like an over night or 2 day is next to a life and death situation. Way to go Noah. Respect
Excellent as usual. Keep them coming. Thank you sir.
Thanks for sharing! Bushcraft skills aquired today..didn't know of 100ml bags of bite size dill pickles 🥒! Sweet
They're deadly for on the go
Good insight on the trout population. I see the same issue with low ph waters due to acid rain in West Virginia as well. The liming has had a great impact there as well and I'm hopeful the trout will make a comeback in Nova Scotia as well.
Love it! Thanks for the content!
Such an inspiration!
Amazing Scenery. Love the little jokes and your general vibe.
I just found your channel and have been binging all the videos. I'm 17 and have a bit of whitewater canoe camping with camps in more northern Ontario. I did my first 24 day 800km one last year and watching these video makes me so excited and inspired to start to go on my own canoe trips with friends when I turn 18. Thank you so much for your amazing content.💚💚
Hell yeah! Get after it, my man. Dream big and stay curious
Wow. That would have been a heavy trip for most but you made it look like light work with all your past experience. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed :)
What a difference some sunshine makes! Still, it takes a lot of guts to go solo through an area like that, especially so early in the season.
Great video & narrative skills! Loved the flyby at 40:55. 🙂
Just totally freaking gorgeous. Your enthusiasm is spellbinding What a rare sighting of the main land moose. You are displaying very similar behavior of our John of Lost Lakes. I’m sure he is flattered. The geological history is well appreciated ❤
That was an epic solo trip!! You never take short cuts Noah! Your trips are the real deal. I know kids half your age who can’t get through a rainy day on land. You crushed it! Folks, please subscribe! And no, I don’t know Noah.
Wow, you just posted a new video four hours ago and already have close to 4500 views. You’re doing great, keep it up. There’s a lot of us out here who love and look forward to watching your next adventure.
Wow, you are among the best at maintaining a coherent narrative with drone and landscape photography to match. Hope you prosper.
Great video!
thank you so much!
Another excellent video, you rock man. ! ! !
Noah, another great video! I enjoy your commentary on local history, geology and tips and tricks you share. Keep up the great work!
Interesting ... We don't have good looking blue moose like yours in my country (France). Thanks for sharing another cool adventure! :-)
Love seeing you back out in the boat! Every time you post a video I can't wait to get back out on the lakes and rivers myself. Or even get to working on some videos I've been lazy putting together. Keep up the great content! Also, love the comment about getting into the different birds out there. Too funny as I've often made that same comment to myself
Hey Noah. Just some advice on the figure of eight knot you are using to tie off the canoe. You need to ensure you leave a much longer tail end, if you get any slippage the knot will come undone. Climbers always use a stopper knot snugged down to the figure of eight to ensure this cannot happen. You don’t want to risk loosing the boat. Great trip by the way. Very jealous.
That's smart. Thank you
Good Job, thanks
Respect you brother, you're a genuine individual and that's what makes the content much more appealing for ninjas like myself
The best thing about the figure 8 knot is that it's less likely to create a failure point in your rope compared to any other knot. All knots create weak points but figure 8s do so less than any other. It's also amazing how they don't usually get stuck under extreme forces. I took a page from this and applied it to my surgeon's knot, instead of two single overhand knots I use two double overhand knots (two loops per knot), and it's so much easier to untie! I think it's stronger too.
Man, setting up some of these shots must be a real pain in the hole, especially solo. You probably double the work of someone who is "just doing the trip". Thank you for bringing us along.
A bowline is intended to be easy to "break" by flipping the back of the knot. But it is also prone to coming undone if you do not maintain constant pressure on it.
Thanks for taking us along.
Absolutely beautiful country.
Wonderful, thank you.
Beautiful canoe adventure scenery was epic loved the huge rock deposits and waterways . loved to hear about the history of the areas you go find it very interesting , I use to love Geography in school as well as maps. Crazy whitewater Betcha you enjoyed your time at that nice cabin wish we had the same in Ontario. thoroughly enjoyed this
Awesome! Looks so fun.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, you deserve more subscribers.
💚💚
This channel is one of the best! I love that you show off our home province of Nova Scotia. Well done and I will be watching out for that inland moose the next time I am out hiking! LOL
I think the moose had a disease
That was amazing!! Thanks for the journey! The tobeatic is one of my favorite places in NS. I've done the shelburne twice starting from the north. Thanks for taking me down the roseway! Its now on the to do list!
Thanks Noah!
You got to do it
Watching from Tel Aviv, I am impressed with your falafel dinner!😚
🙏🙏🙏
Hoping you and your loved ones are safe and sound. Love from Canada.
great film and very inspirational, both in canoe adventures and filming
Beautiful river/lakes and well done on the trip. Keep up with the birds, geology, and food adds to your presentation. Thanks for fighting thru the huckleberries and rain showers.
Love Kegi
lol. That weird moose omg. ! Hahaha
What a great few days in the back country of Nova Scotia! Great job as always, enjoyed the animation and information on what happened to our once thriving rivers.
Thanks Nic, I hope you're enjoying the road
beautiful scenery thank you for sharing
Hey Noah, thanks for keep sharing :) I really. love these videos!
Very cool. Good times.
These videos always make me miss Nova Scotia. You were exploring my old back yard! Thanks for sharing.
Worth the wait Noah, absolutely love all your adventures and can’t wait to see the next one. Thanks for taking us along once again
This might be the best video yet uploaded on this channel (except for the big northern adventure series'). Noah, your commitment to documenting real, authentic adventure is admirable. Thanks for taking us along
What a wonderful adventure video. Beautifully filmed with explanations and how-to displays of camping skills, canoeing technique and thoughtful recommendations for anyone considering such a canoe trip. That this was a a solo adventure leaves me with both admiration and inspiration to get on with my far less ambitious canoeing and kayaking as a septuagenarian. Many thanks.
Thanks so much, John
Nice description of clothing inner and outerwear. Also the explanation of cooking supplies pots and stove. You are are really roughing it trekking through trails and non trails with the early season deadfall. Overall a nice early season video and a great look at another Canadian gem
I am always so excited to see a new video come out. I am never disappointed. In the same breath I'm sad when it's over.
That mainland moose looked like a big bull. Keep the content coming, Looking forward to your next adventure. Cheers Noah and stay safe.
Funny enough ; right at the moment I was asking myself « What? All these fantastic lakes and rivers and the dude is not fishing? », you told the story about the acidic soil & lakes… Beautiful trip man. 🤘🏼
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🤠🤠
Once again what a magnificent journey to bring us along!! Merci Merci Merci!!
So I'm on vacation, first time in Canada, coming down Vancouver Island from Port Hardy to Nanaimo, and a new video comes out. Going to Vancouver and Whistler tomorrow and Friday. Beautiful country.
I get very excited when I find a new Northerscavenger trip video in my cache! Bravo yet again, Noah.
Love these videos !! Keep making them and carrying on being you. You make me want to go out so bad, I've never been on a portage but am wanting to make plans desperately
ridiculous trip!! love it!!
Hey, you're in our neck of the woods!
Your videography and the difficulty is marvelous!
Nice that you treat yourself to better coffee making when solo! We love getting to follow along on these adventures from our living room, and they just keep on getting more polished! And thanks for the shout out 🤙
Great video Noah, and the mini-lecture on acid deposition was spot on. 👏🏻
Thanks for that brief glimpse of beauty in the insanity around us now. I did a similar tip on the Burnt River in southern Ontario in April 15 years ago, white water, canoeing and camping in a snow storm brings back great memories. Stay the course brother.
Love your work….inspirational. My 3 young adult boys and I canoed the Tobeatic a couple of years ago and tried our best to follow the tent dwellers. Awesome trip. Memories forever. Taking this full journey may be the new bucket list challenge,
these videos are amazing to watch at night to relax, i feel like i'm out camping even when i'm in my tiny college dorm room. love all the vids
Noah, you are my favorite RUclips creator.
I'm honoured 🙏
Loved your video, thanks so much for showing us our beautiful country..😁👍🏻👍🏻❤️ liked and subscribed, watching from Petawawa Ontario 🇨🇦
Thank you!
Loving the videos, dude! I appreciate all the effort you put into telling a story in each of your adventures.
What an amazing trip.
It's great to see the Tobeatic. I live near by but have never gone there. It was just one big storm in February that broke all those pines. Southerly 105 kmph here in the valley. Stronger up there in the hills.
Beautiful trip...forest, rivers, lakes, canoe makes for a perfect video.
Wonderful watch!
My friend we were haning onto our seas here in Yarmouth !My family are from Roseway...this was terrific!
Just subscribed. While I follow several other canoe tripping channels, the length of this video is just right; not too long or too short. Mainland moose sighting was great. I would be more worried about a Samsquanch though, as according to Bubbles, Nova Scotia is crawling with them.
Thank You for all the education you provide to us ! Thanks for taking us along!! 😊
Another great video allowing me to see the country i travelled many times. Crazy high water and sad to see the damage to Mason's Cabin, i took many Scouts there .
Thanks for sharing, Noah. My wife and I completed this exact route in 2022. It seems our 'on-the-move' trail maintenance didn't leave a dent. Excellent content friend!
It's a fantastic route !
Damn Noah!! That was awesome!!!
Such a beautiful change man! Outstanding panoramic views!
Excellent. My uncle was a DNR officer for shelburne County.. he spoke of this area you travelled often.
Parrsboro boy
Thank you for sharing, what a wonderful trip.
Peanut butter is a wonderful food for camping very nutrient dense and it taste good
Your channel is definitely growing! Good for you Noah. Keep up the good work. Missing the group trips.
Watching from Northern Ireland, ive been canoeing for about a year now. Got inspired watching your channel and decided to give it a go, absolutely loving it! Keep up the great content!
We got 2 major storms this winter. The amount of downed trees is the most I have seen in my half-century of life.
