Ok... don't anybody laugh... but after watching this video I went outside and looked around our shed and found a few rocks laying around. I let my husband pick one... I just wrapped it like Matt did here... put it on a cord... and he really likes it! Thank you for the inspiration Matt! You're just so very awesome! 👍😉

      Great story!
If you give rock necklace gifts or sell them, rince and wash them with detergent for a few seconds, or if you have over a dozen, boil them in a pot of water for 30 min

My sister is a rock hound, and belongs to a local lapidary group which has cutting and polishing machines she uses for free. As soon as I get my wires and tools, I'll see what kind of family discount I can weedle out of her.

This is like the Bob Ross of wire wrapping! So many wire wrapping tutorials (and those of other art forms) are loaded with a "do it exactly as I do" mentality, which robs you of the freedom to create and express yourself. I appreciate your philosophy of not needing expensive supplies, and not beating yourself up for mistakes.... "because there are no mistakes, just happy accidents." When you remove the perfectionist pressure from art, what you have left is an open platform to express yourself and create something that YOU like.

I think people are trying to make the "genuine" material to represent chakras and stuff like that. In my opinion, energy can be infused into anything you love. It doesn't have to be specifically raw earth materials that is ultra expensive. If your energy is positive as you make your jewlery, and it makes an emotional connection with the buyer/wearer, that in itself can provide the chakra, energy, spiritual balance they are looking for.
This is such an amazing video. Thank you!

Very good video! Like many folks I have tried laying out the money, watching 'experts' on youtube, tried following their instructions on how to become a master jewelry designer and ended up with an expensive pile of knotted wire! You will never become an expert by watching 20min videos! It takes practice and a bit of confidence. This video is the way to do it. It costs almost nothing and you can try again and again until you get it right. And you will get it right eventually! You don't need all of those expensive tools either!

Dollar tree stones is a great idea! They started kinda rough and ugly, but really grew some charm by the end - adorable!

I love the way you approach this, I’ve wanted to wire wrap for ages and have watched a good deal of instruction videos, but you make it look easy and I’ve realised hey! It doesn’t have to look perfect! It’s unique! 🙂

Your advice is excellent, thanks for the inspiration. I have been playing with this art, off and on because I love trying new things. I had to subscribe to watch and learn lots. Your ideas are so unique, I love this idea of just bending the wire to see where it will take me.

New to your channel and jewelry making. Love how encouraging you are and how to talk us through your thinking. I would want a crazy design because it is so unique. I am never buying jewelry from a store again. Thanks for the tip of getting wire from Home Depot.

You just described me 😅😅😅 I’m so fustrated trying to make wire go around the stone and getting fed up wasting wire.
