this gameplay makes me wonder why there are so many (most likely support players) in any post about doomfist saying "good nerf him" or "good he needs to be giga nerfed" like every doom they face is a Top 500 ZBRA clone
I always bully the supports as Doom, so their hatred to Five Punch Man is fair
Supps hate him because none of the supports except brig can deal with him. And low rankers hate him because they dont stop shooting a 50% doom with block up so they just get super slammed every time
@@SwordOfBlueThunder All you need to do as ana is sleep and anti and he falls over, that's the case in every elo unless they have have a kiriko hard pocketing him. Brig is only "good" against him if he dives the backline and she's doing her job; instead of of doing the metal rank thing of trying to be a frontliner.

How dying to the hero, who needs to get in a kissing range and hit all of his shots is more frustrating than dying to dmg boosted oneshot is beyond me

As a doom main this video infuriated me, literally every other punch the enemies would slide off the walls like they were covered in military grade lube and honestly flats your a total hero for not getting angry, I’m not even playing and I’m pissed at how many game winning kills just didn’t happen because the walls decided they worked be made out of a stick of butter

They're basically the only ones who can, I've been playing him since he came out and even with all the hours I've put in it's hard to get anything done.

@@dragonvenom9788Honestly I think new Doom does a better job with his hero fantasy. Old Doom usually just picks off someone and then falls back, maybe even 2. New Doom being able to fend off everyone with one punch feels great. They just need to make supports actually fucking balanced and he'll be in a great spot.

I think he’s just not as efficient as he is on other heroes he has a lot more experience playing. for example, the little things like using his empowered punch on the ball at 1:14 instead of cancelling and using it against the squishies on the opposite side.

I see how they’re reworking a lot of characters by just adding a new move it would be cool if they added a cool move that puts you and your enemy up in the air allowing you to do cool combos kinda like a fighting character. I think it should be called UPPERCUT

Doom Fist did have 'Rising Uppercut' instead of his Block which did exactly what you stated here, plus giving him even more crazy mobility....
Buuut he needed to be normalized gor OW2 so he became TankFist with the block instead

U guys are definitely metal players if ur tank has the most deaths, my deaths per 10 on Zarya is like 4.0 something & she is very squishie w only bubbles a real tank player knows how to stay alive usually near the deaths of their Supports
@@Alex_Aramayo zarya got buffs for her cooldowns (mitigates damage + cleanses most effects) -> supports sustain zarya -> supports have high sustain themselves
Majority of tanks haven’t gotten sustain buffs recently so it makes sense why you have 4 deaths per 10 minutes on a character with high damage, 8 second damage mitigation cooldown x 2 and shield to regenerate health naturally

i play doom, but whenever i do, the enemy team swaps to all the counters and i have to swap.
Bro literally! If you get even the smallest bit of value, they switch to a full anti doom comp.
Play safe, sounds obvious but if you change your playstyle to play safe youd be able to do so much.
They will use all their resources on you and if you manage to survive it 75% of the time then your team will have a big advantage
Doom has little to No room to be played wrong which is why he isn't fun to use or play as when people can just play hog and ruin your fun Mauga just ends him too

if you wanna play doom right you HAVE TO make mistakes, since almost everyone counters him the way to not do mistakes is literally to sit behind a wall and wait for ur team to dump and ult or two then dive during that. If you make mistakes like diving an ana and trying to dodge her sleep and get away with it then ur playing doom right.
The more mistakes the better, however if you get punished for your mistakes with a counter ability you get punished 20 times harder than you should

honestly i think his punch should have its radius increased. its really REALLY hard to land even the empowered punch, and considering its the weakest boop AND stun that literally thrusts you in their face i think its fair for it to be a BIT easier to hit.

but i mean, to be fair, it is pretty much the weakest boop....besides lucio's. in terms of knockback its great for an aoe boop...but literally everything else sucks about it. especially when you compare it to boops that DON'T require you to get close like pharah with her aoe boop or orisa, both of which do the same kill setup stuff as doom does with empowered punch or even the ones that do require you to get close like ball with infinite mobility+chain boops, or zen with infinite cd kicks, and you cant even argue it has a lower cd because in order to get empowered punch you need to block damage or ult meaning generously you get it every 8 seconds keeping it in line with other knockbacks.
but yeah saying dooms punch is the worst when lucios 4 second cd boop that also requires you to get close while also being outclassed by a quick melee in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY exists is just factually incorrect.

As a doom main, most supports aren't gonna get bullied by you past plat. That seems to be the argument around them wanting doom nerfed every week. There's too much bs in their kits to make doom unplayable. Most of the time you're going to be trading with supports for fights. I am saying this as an ex t500 (I don't play comp anymore). I don't want supports nerfed too hard but they just feel like an extra 2 dps most of the time. It'd be nice to see them being actual supports/"healers"
I disagree just because there’s a reason why they are called “support” and not medics or healers. They support both in applying buffs, healing, or helping your team eliminate your opponents. I see this more as a Doomfist needs a buff than supports need a nerf

To mitigate this, I feel like 1) just buff Doom or
2) Make it 6v6 instead of 5v5, that way support isn’t pooled to use ONE tank.

@@Shrimp4Gura Never swap if you want to learn. Swapping doesn't help with that and you'd only be admitting that you can't play him and wont be able to. At that point you're putting winning before learning and that's a pitfall.
Funny I actually just started playing doomfist as a joke and it turns out my friends keep saying I’m actually really good (none of them want to play tank but me tho) and genuinely these past few days have been the most fun I’ve had playing ow2, well except for when the enemy team looses the mental and instantly swap to sigma, sombra, phara, Ana, and lifeweaver….. those games are a treat especially when they using every counter and I still roll em.

My second most played tank is doomfist and I don’t even know, I play him and get miserable games, stop playing, watch a single zbra video that reignites the tankfist spark and then proceed to play and continue to wish that the dreaded horse that for some reason continues to plague quick play will finally be turned into glue
No, Doomfist is NOT a good hero. It’s the players that are just that good to make him pop off despite playing Doomfist.
Why play the high skill, mechanically demanding, high effort, high risk, mediocre reward, and very easily counterable hero when you can just pick up Sigma for 2 hours and get even more reward for less effort?

@@MeisterSchwabbo Sigma is the best tank right now, no doubt about it. Also when you think about it, Sigma is just a better Orisa. Sigma does more damage than Orisa. Has a stun projectile just like Orisa. Has a much better ult. And why mitigate damage when you can just not take damage at all?
While Orisa, Zarya, and Hog are easier, they’re a lot more counterable. Orisa counters hog. Zarya counters Orisa. Zarya is countered by Winston but Hog trashes Winston.
Sigma on the other hand is probably the least counterable tanks right now. Anyone who counters him are either bad like Rein or don’t counter him hard enough to make him useless.
@@kyubbikcat2281 As of the rework orisa is not a good counter to hog anymore just wanted to point that out. I main Doom and Hog so I can attest the Hog just eats javelin and moves on now.

It’s nice to see people actually focussing on traps. As a mercy main, I step on one and it’s almost an instant death trap. Whenever there’s a Junkrat I just have to stay in the air as much as I possibly can, as that’s the weakness of a Junkrat. My teammates never take care of them :(.

It's a difficult balance, when extremely mobile characters are hard meta no one has a lot of fun. Same when snipers are hard meta. There just isnt a lot of fun counter play.
I will never attempt to bring my Doomfist into comp, unless I absolutely felt very confident in my ability to play him, so my Doomfist gameplay is in quick play, but whenever I play him, I just unleash my inner ZBRA wannabe soul and just hope for the best. Usually 9/10 times I end up dominating the battlefield, but it comes at the cost of emotion and feelings. Maybe teammates trust

That is why the cooldown cycle is so fucking important for Doomfist... One mistake and you are dead :( And it is even worse vs Sombra, she hacks you with 0 skill and you are done. You can win, but the skill they require is much less.
It's funny because his cooldowns being 6 and 7 seconds for slam and block respectively are quite long for how ineffective they are both for dealing damage and for defending yourself for empowered punch

idk i feel like when an enemy team gets doom they get pocketed and their abilities do double damage, but when we get a doom, or I'm doom, he's paper thin and his gun doesn't do anything
All in the primary fire, the slam and punch stagger which lets you get easy shots off, good dooms can get headshots off the stagger and delete people

There are 2 types of doomfists. Ones who get completely ignired and dominate the game. And ones who are immediately countered by zen and Orisa and proceed to throw dor 10 minutes.
Good dooms can read the aggro, if they know they wont be hard focused for a few seconds then yes they will engage and get stuff done

I always wonder why everyone hates doom when hes one of if not THE most difficult hero to play in the game. People act like you can just jump in and frag 100% of the time.
They get destroyed by a good Doomfist, and then resort to asking for nerfs/hero doesn't need buffs. They don't Wanna accept that they were heavily outplayed.

Was trying to fling myself up with seismic slam and canceling it to try and punch the mercy/echo/pharah, only to hit the punch and do next to no damage, and even when I shoot at them, they immediately fly away too fast for me to track, next thing I know I’m hooked, hacked, hindered, trapped, anti’d, slept, hit with javalin, slowed, stunned or whatever
They need to buff him slightly or give him another passive, something like his seismic slam can increase his punch damage a bit or something
I'll make it very simple for you Flats. You don't. You feed over and over before getting lucky on an unpocketed squishy, you pray to the digital gods that you don't encounter any doom bugs or match-making blesses you with idiots who don't know how to counter doom, rinse and repeat til he gets nerfed again

Doom mains have 2 lessons in OW2.
Lesson 1: If you really can't handle how hard your character is, it's a skill issue XD
Lesson 2: He's still great fun, you just have to thrive in the same goofy chaos that used to be exclusive to OW1 Ball mains
Doom from the base was just not built to be a tank. Make him old dps doom again and just nerf him into the ground and he’ll still be more fun. The amount of cool techs and movement they’ve removed especially by forcing him to play a totally different way by being the only tank make him way less fun, more weak, and wayyyy harder. Plus they removed a sick ass move like uppercut and made it a block? Does that fit doom’s theme at all???
Doom should have never become a Tank, he is no longer fun to play….😢I miss DPS Doom. Mei should have been the tank, CC, self heal, wall zoning and her ult is a setup/zoning ult

Best way to play doomfist adapt and survive
One fundamental of doom that carries over from ow1 is the importance of constantly moving. You need to be unpredictable and take as little damage as possible and generate as much shield as you can so you can only tank damage when you need to and charge punch. Soon as you have it, you need to either slam to either disengage or go in with more shield/bait cds. Missing a punch at all, especially a full power/empowered wall slam is the absolute worst thing you can do on doom. All the work you did, the movement, the not dying or letting the enemy kill your team, only to either whiff or get a stupid bloody slider. I love playing doom (and ball) but christ watching this hurt my soul.
A good Doomfist player is insane and a real problem to deal with. I have no idea how they do it. I try, but I’m just not a fan of Tank Doomfist. I much, MUCH preferred DPS Doomfist.
If doomfist had the exact same hitscan left click EVERY OTHER DIVE TANK HAD he'd be so much better, but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Never miss a single shot, always hit headshots, never miss a single ability, manage your CDs, dont get countered by 2/3 of the roster, know when to engage, blah blah blah the character is bad and only a select few people who spend thousands of hours can actually make him kinda work.

I'd recommend first learning how to utilize every tool at your disposal to their fullest effect (ie what tech you have and what value you provide) and then start learning matchups and synergies. Then keep learning, constantly. The moment you stop learning about your enemy, about yourself, about your team, and the moment you stop adapting is the moment you die
And as for how to kill people, Doomfist is a character that uses his abilities to get in and shotgun people. One of his main gameplans is to isolate his targets and pick them off one by one, and the other is to force the enemy team together and leverage the pressure his team generates via suppressing fire and abilities to assassinate backrow targets

6:55 prime reason why no sane person plays Doom. Here he had a near perfect attack- but he was SLIGHTLY off with his aim(requiring all headshots from a normal player is not adequate), and *bam*- Lifeweaver lived, Doom is in backline being vulnerable. This character requres you to be near-perfect all of the time, otherwise he's simply not impactfull

we suffer and just try our best to play a perfect game. Most of my situations go like this….im the villain fighting 5 Naruto clones….with all of the attention on me and my dps fail to clean up or just nowhere to be found. Ill go positive than my whole team and some on the enemy team but the loss is still my fault. Im distracting all day n night for what and my team still can’t capitalize off anything😂.
