Driving One of the Smallest Fire Trucks in the World

- This Daihatsu Hijet is one of the smallest fire trucks in the world. But since it’s a real, actual fire truck, it’s got functional horns and sirens to. Also it has a mechanical speed limiter, in this case a giant plate over the shifter, letting you only go in 1st and reverse. So you’ll get to that fire, eventually.

I've seen these fire trucks at work, they're mostly for remote towns and island communities (e.g. fishing villages) where there are no cars, but they still need a fire service. They're often driven over footpaths.
just drive it into the skyscraper, take it up the elevator, and put out a fire on the upper floors
ASE Heavy Industries That reminds me of Battlefield 4
Thats all fine and dandy...except...if there is a fire in the building at all, do not use the elevator, you could become trapped.
Honestly with the mods people do to mini trucks here in the states, you could make a sweet little brush truck out of one of these
more kei cars and preferably ones that go above 15-20mph

For me it looks lika fire extinguisher with 4 wheels :D
It's so cute. I can see this being right at home in The Villages, Florida where everyone and their dog drives golf carts as daily drivers.
I need one, right now!
these were made to follow the Toyota Seras whose glass roofs would act as a magnifying glass in direct sunlight and catch people on fire
wow true
This "Firetruck" was made to put out cigarettes in non smoking zones.
An angle grinder would take care of that pesky speed limiter.
Nice Kei-tora😆
FYI Montana is way to big to go just 20mph on one gear hahaha.
Worst part about the state is it takes 3hrs to get anywhere at 80mph.
so adorable
For when your ashtray slightly emits smoke.
japan just it's first 40 story office / warehouse high rise
素晴らしい!
Wait a minute, there was even a Japanese hearse! 😂😂😂
How many of these were produced?
Ironically, I take it this ain't no kid's car!😂
I need one of these in my kitchen
Meet Kiri!
Can you remove the cover over the shifter and drive faster?!?!?!
presumably with a dremel or a Sawzall, sure!
Bring back Jason drives.
Long sirens and alarm bells
Would you please ring it?
うわ、霊柩車もいるw
There is someone in my town that has one
I was interested in the Century funeral car. But I don't have the money not the space. And California DMV would freak the fuck out.
Does he have any Kei trucks?
Yeah, there's tons. Go on the website and see all he has!
Him saying K car here is spelled "Kei Car, a Japanese government designation for their country of a class of small vehicles. Nothing to do with the chrysler 'K'" car here in the states, which was a platform of car by Chrysler with this letter designation.
4:56 is that a Japanese hearse?
It's a toyota sera
@@carholic-sz3qv I was referring to the black vehicle with the wooden roof.
That's a hearse.
In recent years, some hearses are manufactured without a wooden space to hold the coffin.
Suzuki Cappuccino?
Nothing like a classic fire truck... Even if it's a fire truck lol
Jesus dude you're everywhere... Let's just be friends already XD
This is not the smallest fire truck it's quite ok sized
LEGO FIRE TRUCK
Anyone else spot VW bus copy at 1:49?

えなんでここにきてんの
Holy shit I thought that was one guy! They are different people! Its impressive that two bridge trolls work at Jalopnik.
The two guys in the cab should stop trying to be funny.
Your talking foolish. In the U.S. You see carts like this at major train stations, factories, etc,
