How do these people who invent the de-choker or the couch console actually get their product made. The difference between finding something on Alibaba and then re-branding it and selling, compared to actually manufacturing an idea? Where do you start?

good question!
way more complicated getting into manufacturing - basically as a founder instead of focusing on marketing 100% - you need to focus on prototyping and manufacturing for the first couple of months - plus you need initial funding for molds, prototyping, patents, etc.
Having done this with my shoe brand, You'd be surprised how easy it can be. Factories are very skilled at making products so we were able to get away with just a simple photoshop that we sent and the factory was able to make it.
Yes. Like others have said, it takes time. But it's much easier than you would think.

This is awesome Davie! I have an E-commerce brand and I've been doing really well but I'm feeling stagnated. I feel that, to scale I need money that I don't currently have so I'm thinking about credit. Does anyone have any idea what are the options out in the market for credit? If they work with E-commerce that would be a plus!
As a fellow South Aussie I'm both proud of, and happy for, your success. I just can't reconcile the ethics of sourcing a product from Chinese manufacturers and selling for 73% profit margin. Isn't that just exploiting the currency exchange rate on one side, and massively inflating the cost to customers on the other? Not only this, you also paid to create Trend Rocket in order to maximise the efficiency with which this can be done? I must admit though, these vids are an ingenious way to indirectly advertise your SASS product! ;)
Sourcing from china is the only reason why we get stuff so cheap in Australia. The margin dwindles away with shipping and marketing costs.
