Glad to find your videos! I love landscape and large format photography as well, and hiking etc. While I used to climb mountains, run marathons, and really enjoy physically demanding adventures... unfortunately I broke my legs in a climbing accident and can barely walk around my tiny apartment today. I’m still glad to walk and be alive though! So when the struggle of carrying a 50lb pack in a flat cool desert landscape hits you again, please consider doing it for all those who cannot, and focus on the _positive_ aspects like the blessing of having the opportunity and physical ability to explore new beautiful landscapes and especially the journey to them!
I love the photos, you capture the beauty of Death Valley. Although, the soap opera that you went through made me laugh. Keep posting and sharing please.
I really enjoyed this video Justin, it is well produced with exiting and dramatic content based around your stunning large format photography. You Americans are so lucky to live in such a stunning country. I look forward to more of your videos.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been in Death Valley.....I loved this video and felt I was on the adventure with you! I love shooting film and love your work.
Great job on your video! The images are simply beautiful, and composed effectively. Really like the black and white images. Might miss color when you show us sunrise, but these are great. Congrats on surviving the night. Look forward to your next video.
So cool to see you making the videos in the field now Justin. I look forward to Day 2. How much water did you carry with you? I imagine that based on your experience hiking with the video kit as well as the 8x10 kit and gear, you'll be somewhat impressed that my pack for my next trip is only 45lbs with a weeks worth of food & supplies. :-)
Great that you started making video journals! Just small hint from my side: music seems too loud on your walking part of video. With wind added it's hard to hear what you are saying. Looking forward to see following days!
Death Valley has been on my bucket list for 20+ years. Thanks for posting. Beautiful photos well worth the hike and sand storm. I agree with you B&W is a much better in this situation than color. How much water did you have take with you? Normal recommendations is gallon a day which means you should have had at least one gallon but to be safe you should 1.5-2 gallons (which is a lot of weight).
Dumb question...…….."Looks like you were driving a 4 wheel drive SUV. Was it not possible/practical to air down the tires and drive closer (say within a 100 yards) of your location?" Salute...…...to you and anybody who's shooting medium and large format film photography. I respect the craft, thought, and process.
Glad to see the Intrepid 8x10 delivered such wonderful images. Did you use the Intrepid film holders? Did you use much rear or front standard movements? Which lens did you use? Thanks in advance.
Pretty impressive Justin. It would be great for viewers like us if the videos are 10-12 min range, felt a bit stretched. Will be looking at your rest of the works. Thanks.
You need another film holder... :) More seriously, why not use a two wheeled cart to carry the load? Are they not allowed out there? I'm 60 and while I could carry 50 lbs four miles, it wouldn't make me happy!
Justin Lowery I like what you are doing pleas keep it up. Ben Horn is the only channel I watch religiously and need another. I would love to see some work from Joshua Tree if you ever get that way. Love your photos man they are awesome.
The best work I have seen in black and white so far.

A truth for the ages -- no one ever brings enough film when the light is perfect.

Justin, I loved following your journey here! Excellent and captivating, can’t wait to see more my friend. Impressive stuff.
Dude! I love your enthusiasm Justin, it's infectious and inspiring. Great job on the video work an I'm looking forward to the next one!
I'm really impressed with how this turned out. It's very polished and you've done a great job telling this story.
Worth it for those dune shots wow.
Great video and photos! Like yourself, I abandoned digital and went to 8x10 film. Love it!
This is sweet! I always wanted to see how this dune field looked like. Great job with the pictures and video!

phantastic photos!
Getting to locations like that is exactly why I spent the last two years rebuilding an old 4runner.
I like what you are doing here. Thumbs up

Very cool! Looking forward to future videos. (bizarre that someone else was actually out there)
Appreciate the effort that went in to the video. More sheets and more food for the next one. We want the sunrise exposures

Nice video. :)
Btw I am subscriber 555. 😋
Justin Lowery looking forward to seeing it! 😊 I just had to comment as the child in me thought it was a cool number. 😋
Awesome video... subscribed
Can you not just drive? Sounds like nobody's around, so what's preventing you from just taking the car the extra four miles?
OMG - why go somewhere like that and then watch a movie! Nice images though.
Oh man! you need a dirt bike!

Four miles is such a short hike come on man stop whining about your actually very light backpack.

Buy a jeep , that place look fine to ride a 4*4 vehicle TBH . And very less about the photography content
