Thanks for the video! I'm working on an 015 AV chainsaw, I can already see a few things I need to get for it. I did put a new NGK spark plug in it, I'm gonna see if I can get it to fire. I just temporarily used some paracord for the pull rope until I can order a good one. I'm wondering what that round plastic piece is that you pulled out with your pliers right below the bar/clutch area? Mine has a lot of oily gunk on it and it seems to be kinda chewed up on the tip buy I'm not sure what it is or what it's function is.
That would be the oiler ebay had some used when I worked on this, or it might have been the chain deflector for when the chain comes off, or the metal chain guard
I have a question. I rebuilt the carb on my 015, yesterday, with a Walbro k10- HDC carb kit and it leaks like a sieve. I always pressure test any carb with my Mighty Vac and it is leaking from orifices I have never seen, before. It leaks from the impulse hole in the back and the vent holes in the metering cover. Do you have any idea what is wrong with it? I have disassembled it about ten times and it is assembled, correctly, as best I can tell. It also least like a sieve when it is connected to the gas line.
does it leak even when not on the saw when you pressure test it. if it is my guess would be that the needle is not seating I would play around adjusting the lever hight to see if that gets it to stop I have another 015 power head on a weedeater I will play around with that and shoot another video just of the carburetor. when you use the mighty vac where are you pulling from?
this give you a diagram of the carburetor and troubleshooting I think you will see what is going on tells you how to adjust the lever as well www.walbro.com/service-manuals/
@@brotherscotteshelman I found the problem. I had used the wrong gasket between the lifter plate and the carb. The two in the Walbro kit were almost identical and I used the wrong one. I did adjust the lifter height - level with the top body of the carb. It was much to high. The cobbler who owned the saw before me had glued every gasket on the carb. I had to cut them off the plates and then clean off the residue. I always pressure test carbs before I put them on to hold 5#. I use my Mighty Vac. I think it is fine, now.
@@brotherscotteshelman I connect my MIGHTYVAC To THE fuel inlet connector. It is the indy connector on the hdc carb and pressurize to 5#, just like walbro recommends. I did clean the carb in my Ultra sonic cleaner. It was filthy. I did check the check valve and screen and it is in place with the circlip holding it in. I did not check it to see if it is working or not and did not blow it out with carb cleaner.
*I have a 1973 015 that I bought for $40 as junk. I also advanced the timing, removed the points and condenser ignition and added the upgraded kawasaki electronic ignition module and let me tell ya, this saw is really a little monster now. I polished the sprocket cover and did some aesthetic work on this saw as well so it looks as good as it runs. I'll send you some pics of this saw if you have an email.*

Thank you so much for making this video. I am working on one of these that doesn't have spark. I was wondering how the heck these came apart. Is your camera pixelating? Or is it my internet.
No it's my camera I'm still working on trying to get a better system going on that if you need any help with setting points or checking the condenser let me know
@@brotherscotteshelman That is very nice of you. I sure could use some pointers on how to set the points and testing to see if the condenser is good. this is the first time I ran in to points on A saw, I've only worked on the newer type that doesn't have points and condenser.
