  • The Irish Memorial in Philadelphia is a monumental bronze sculpture containing 35 life-size figures. created by Glenna Goodacre. It depicts starvation, death and emigration caused by a series of devastating famines (called The Great Famine) in Ireland from 1845 to about 1852. The poignancy of the brilliant artwork is enhanced in the video by Irish music from singers Johnny McEvoy, Mary O'Hara, Derek McCormack, and Cruachan.
