As a 47 year old that started skating in 1984, it's cool to see someone ripping an old school style deck.

@@destroyerdestroy87 much lighter than the original, I had both. shits still heavy though with the size of trucks and probably big wheels you'll throw on it. the weight of big boards is nice though, feels grounded

Just got Winkowski's 8-ball Powerply, love the shape! I'm hoping to get better at transition with a bigger tail.
I'm good on the flip-in, flip-out stuff. I wanna rip like Erick!
Edit: I forgot to mention: my board shot out yesterday and ghost-rode itself square into the sharp corner of a hubba at full speed. *No chip,* only the slightest dent. Simply amazing!

Watching Erick skate while listening to Sade is the closest I’ll ever get to travelling back in time.
Ive seen so many old school videos that this brings back a feeling of nostalgia and I am only 20.
F’n EW and Gonz are my favorite skaters, they just make me want to skate , you can just tell they’re main thing is having fun creating skateboarding, everything else comes naturaly, Freaks of Nature ,

I just ordered three of these decks. One to skate, one to look at, and one to store away for prosperity. I’m really happy with the shape. It’s so much fun. Thank you @Santa Cruz for thinking of us retro dudes. Now I have somebody current (Winkowski) to watch skate and gear to buy. I no longer have to hunt through eBay looking for retro decks!

What deck do you prefer? Train or aquatic?
Train, I have one. But of course nothing can beat either dope planets. I'm so pleased to have a shaped dp2 before they disappeared for good, stunning graphic. I wasn't as keen on the dp VX, plus we never got it in my country anyway. Love EW's style for sure.

@@seekah1 some people see different as gimmicky. I get it but I like winkowski a lot, definitely comes across as just doing his own thing to me, not trying hard to be different. the dude could clearly ride a big old school board or a popsicle and still be successful

It takes some getting used to when compared to a regular popsicle deck. The main reason is the wheelbase on the deck. You have to get used to it and adjust your stance a bit but once you get used to it, it’s cake to skate everything. Tre flips and kick flips are too fun on it. That being said, it’s not easy going back to popsicle decks after. I love my winkowski deck.
And Dee I don’t ride popsicle decks I’ve rode tons of shapes just not winkowski’s
And Dee popsicle decks are to boring and the same
