@@mapleleaf1956 gosh that sounds extremely painful. What was the treatment for it...they can' cast it right? Hahah it would ring differently yes, much more heroic far less lame.
@@mariam.a. I thought it would have been more painful than it was so I was pretty lucky. Treatment was a sling for 8 weeks and strict instructions not to move it under threat of surgery. It healed properly, though it’s a bit stiff still. It was an anterior glenoid fracture. How is the knee healing for you?
@@mapleleaf1956 ah yes same with my foot back then..it honestly hurt much less than the knee injury I have now. That’s why I didn’t for a second consider a fracture. Sooooo slowly. I’m starting to think my delusions of being pico bello again in 2 weeks were so naive. They were indeed correct that the timeline for my injury is more like 4-6 weeks and that is provided I rest enough.
Problems with a knee always sucks. Hope, you're well soon! I really like the color story of the Starstruck Splendor, it's different from her usual pink theme. Even though I didn't buy it. As i won't buy from the Valentines collection. You look gorgeous as always and as always im fascinated by your pairings 😊
Definitely will!! I just need to be patient. Thank you so much! Haha you’re not the first one to mention that…I have always liked purple but I think of myself as a green gal. Perhaps I should rethink purple!
Hope you’re on the mend soon! Things take longer to heal the older we get. And now that I’m in my 50s, I don’t even have to do anything to hurt myself. A good sneeze can wreck me! 😂
I hope your leg is back to normal soon. I think maybe bad weather and biking do not mix!! 😫 I really hope we don’t hear in the next video that something actually WAS broken like your last fall! 🤞🏻 I’m very glad there was a nice person who stopped to help you. But yes…you are indestructible in your 20s and now at 55, I go to bed normal and wake up with a “sleeping injury”. Literally I can have a sore knee when all I did was sleep. 🤦🏻♀️ Sad!!!
Ice and bikes definitely a bad mix! Never again! Nah nothing is broken this time (although technically no doctor has actually seen me, they don’t deem my injury even remotely serious). It’s getting better but it is veeeery slow. 😂 That will definitely be me in 5-10y!
Hope is just a muscle thing and you can recover completely, will be a lot of hard work to endure in order to compensate a damaged ligament. Hope we'll see you soon!
Oh, Mariam. That's rotten luck. It's such a human thing to do, that split second decision where you don't think things through the way you might on another day, or just the bad luck to ride over the speed hump at the exact spot where your tire connects with a small amount of ice. When I had surgery last year and I started to feel better, I did something like you - when I started to feel better again I tried to go back to normal life because I felt so good and... well, then I didn't feel good again for a while :P Hope you can go easy with yourself and give yourself time to heal, even if it takes a bit longer than it did in the indestructible 20s. I also agree with you re: the comments about PMG products made in the US, I hang out in some makeup subreddits and someone was saying her US-made products sucked... I asked about how that could be true when Temptalia rated US made quads like Interstellar Icon above some of the Motherships and of course... no response! I like the highlighter from the Love release but I also want to boycott the whole collection because that re-release quad was so stupid imo.
It’s always those little moments and then shit can go down so fast. Literally in 3 seconds I managed to inflict damage that will take weeks if not months to recover. What an amateur!! Yeah it makes no sense to me to have prejudice before even trying the products. Don’t judge a book by its cover they say…
I do have a small scar on my nose from flying Owen the handle bars face first on a too small bike on a dirt/gravel hill. My cousins dared me to ride down the hill didn’t go so well a rock wedged in my front tire came to a dead stop and over the handles bars I went. I think I was 12 or so.
And that is why I will never ever try mountain biking!! Although I pulled other dangerous things as a kid. According to photos I used to hang from climbing frames head down holding on to the bar with just my feet..not even knees. I shudder at the thought…😂
Hope the rest of your recovery goes smoothly! I kind of assumed that Jeweled Temptation sold out first because they made fewer of them, especially since (at least in the US) Starstruck Splendor was the only one of the two available at Sephora and neither was at Ulta.
Oh poor you Mariam. It's 'sleeping policemen' in the UK (or 'speed bumps'). In Germany, they predicted that ice situation and issued countrywide massive warnings not to travel; our local schools were kept closed (distance learning) - and in the morning, there was no issue whatsoever 😂. The next day, it was a bit snowy - but the kids still had to go to school. You can imagine what they felt about that 😂 best wishes, Anne
@@mariam.a. I think it was, in some parts. As far as the kids were concerned, the weather forecast was out by a day. Hope you're healing well, take it easy. ❤
My cynical take on jeweled temptation is that PML made a light and dark version of the christmas palette to get the good PR, watched the beauty community reactions and sales towards starstruck splendour, then made a business product decision pivotting to repurpose the shades in jeweled tempation into the valentines day palette. I'm very annoyed as I tried to buy jeweled tempation during the black friday sales, and it was almost immediately 'sold out'.
Those decisions were made a LONG time ago. You can’t repurpose eyeshadows and produce a collection in 2 months. That said I can’t imagine they made equal amounts of both palettes. Perhaps they anticipated the jewel tone one to sell less…we shall never know.
I must admit that I have become progressively more deliberate and careful. Just a fact of life. I totally agree on your assessment of the PML situation. I would have thought the greens would have sold it. Maybe they did too and made less of the other one. But I also think that this is what her buyers want now…for us the lovers of oldies from the original motherships. These are not that interesting. Please have your knee checked out. Cartilage takes so much longer to heal and it only partially ruptured it could be more serious later. Just words of wisdom from someone with a couple more decades of experience 😊
I should follow your example! If I were PML I would have made less of the jewel palette because it’s so repetitive that it’s unlikely to sell too well. They told me to give it a few weeks because it sounds like it’s not too bad. I just need to be patient. And rest enough…which I find really hard!
I think they're gaslighting us. I also think they made way more of the starstruck splendor than jeweled temptation and thats maybe why it sold out. My reasoning for that is everyone I know of wanted and bought starstruck splendor including creators on RUclips. The company really needs to stop disappointing their customers.
