I'm (doing a very bad job of) building a Welsford dinghy at the moment and was thinking one of these would be a good option. I was already planning on adding a spot on the transom for stern sculling and these kinda seem like the same thing just in easy mode. Any chance you've had the misfortune of seeing how well they survive a submerging on a capsize? The only other thing holding me back at the moment is the cost but I feel like its probably worth it in terms of saving on all the noise.
Hey! yep they're a handy piece of kit. I haven't capsized with it on board, but have given it a good drenching as I store it in the bow, and it has survived really well. Key thing is to keep it tethered so that should it go overboard, it stays with the boat! All the best with the Welsford build, they're all really beautiful boats. Which design did you choose?
@ I went with the Truant as I have limited space to build and store it. Definitely in other hands they come out beautiful but so long as it doesn’t sink I’ll forgive my messy work :)
Hello, great review. Just a doubt, I have an inflatable sailing catamaran and I was considering adding this for the marina in/out and no-wind sudden conditions. Which speed did you achieve full power ? 3-4 knots, which is the weight of your dinghy?

Hey there! Top speed would be approximately 3 knots. My dinghy is about 290kg with me in it. Cheers! 🙂
