01:40 Horrifying First Attempts
02:44 Lap with Fancy Mic & Audio
11:70 Impressions/Specs
14:14 Best Lap, but with "bad" audio Авто/Мото
you know misha shit himself at 21:26
Yeeeep
@@mgcharoudin 7min 58 roughly on that last lap.. not a bad effort for a little atom
🐻
The audio in Lap 2 was fine. I just put on a Fan and it almost felt like I was there. LOL 😅🤣
theres a reason its called the ariel
That felt intense and those wastegate whistles are addictive
That’s blow off valve my friend wastegate releases the excess pressure pre turbo mainly they’re put back into the exhaust which is a recirculating wastegate and you won’t hear much/if any noise from it but sometimes you have what’s called a screamer or dump pipe that dumps the air and makes the screaming sound on the other hand the blow off valve releases the air built up in the turbo when you come off throttle hence the chirping sounds sorry for the rant just trying to explain as simple and best I can
@@aj24z42 I stand corrected
wastegate is more of a super charger thing, this is just a blowoff :)
@@NeFjuS superchargers don’t require wastegates as they’re driven by the crank not exhaust gases it’s essentially a naturally aspirated engine with more air capacity
@@NeFjuS wastegates redirect exhaust gas to regulate how much boost a turbo makes. Literally zero connection to superchargers.
That mic did an absolutely phenomnal job! As always Im very impressed how fast you adapt to a new car!
Yep fancy mic worth it 👌👌
Yessss!!! I’m wondering to know what did he use to record the sound 🙌🙌🙌
Visiblement un petit diable cette Ariel ! Bravo MISHA 👏
Nice correction on the 3rd lap jump, very well caught 😅. You should wear a heart rate monitor and overlay the bpm, I’d bet it was pretty raised on that final lap. (I wore a heart rate monitor whilst rally navigating for a mate, had spike from 120bpm immediately to 217bpm on one very close oh my f#@k moment)
This is actually a cool thought. Would love to see this in future videos! Misha always looks so calm though, especially driving a slower car.
Good idea , makes for some unique content
Christ 217😳😳 how long did you lay on the ground afterwards contemplating life?😂
Holy... I started watching this on my phone and immediately paused it, switched to a TV with a proper surround system to appreciate it. The new mic -- absolutely worth it. Who needs pedal cam when you have pedal audio? Best, most-engaging onboard of the season by a mile. Loved it.
The turbo noises on this are HEAVEN!
That thing was mental ...makes all the right sounds...and man...what a ride...👏
I love the way we hear your throttle inputs (or rather... outputs?) through this waste gate. Pretty immersive and a great camera angle!
It's not the wastegate as that is exhaust side, the sound is from the compressor side and it's turbo flutter/surge, as he lifts off the throttle boost pressure is still high but flow into the engine is reduced so the surge happens.
@@DriftNick Cool, I didn't know and saw waste gate being used in another comment. Either way, it sounds awesome!
@@DriftNick is surge also occurring under load when engine can't swallow all the boost so compressor is chopping the air instead of pushing it
Probably one of the most horrifying but fun drives Misha has done this year.
These vibrations created some kind of Need for Speed "speed" effect, and sound is amazing as well
The induction and turbo noises should be your intro sound track for now on🙏🏼😍
Omg the sound quality. This is now definitely a Vip experience 🔥🔥🔥
What a sublime and visceral experience you had! Being able top see the front wheels all the time makes a huge difference. Your ability to adapt is perfect. Thanks Misha!!
That was perfect @misha , the waste-gate(blow off valve )sound and how you drove that was amazing. Camera view too was on point
The sound of this this is unreal. Favourite car you’ve driven on the channel for me by far.
Best video so far that shows the sense of speed. Watching it was scary and and I couldn't imagine how fast those GT3 are going around the ring.
Seeing the front suspension move as you went through the carousel was pretty great.
And during some upshifts
Boy that intake noise and turbo flatter 🙌
Mic did def. a good job and was well placed
oh... ° 3°
You finally got to ride the Atom! 🎉
Nice blowoff sound btw, fluffy mic did a phenomenal job!
These things are made just down the road from me, adds a bit of variety seeing an atom or nomad about on the roads.
Great drive as always Misha!
Wild! I’ve driven an Atom on the racetrack here in Canada (Ecotec engine) and it was intense…could not imagine just hopping into an Atom and going for a Ring lap! I experienced the helmet issue also, but not at those speeds ;) As always, Misha, glad you’ve made it through safely. I’d love to see someone hand you the keys to a Light Car Company Rocket or an early Lotus 7. Great content and storytelling as always 😊
BRC mono please
@@alanthecat59, yes!
The induction and turbo noises actually make the car sound alive!. Great video.
Loved this video u could feel the speed and the vibration just adds to it. Super intense
Love that turbo flutter sound and BOV!!! Also I do really love cars like this!!! Power to weight ratio ftw!!! Nice drive my man!!!!
The sound of that turbo!!! ❤
ALL the choo choo noises for that monster, looked like a wild lap
i loved the audio with the more expensive mic, it blocks the wind as if its nothing(assuming it hasn;'t been done in post), not to mention the details it give in lows, mids and highs on all fronts
Awesome. The sound is addictive. Such a good lap. Nice one man. 🔥✌
Oh that was so good. The Atom was what I wanted on the Misha bucket list. Ariel 4 too, I think, which apparently means better cornering.
Super car. Super drive. Thank you.
For me, this best represents what you do and feel like almost being there. Reminded me of why I sold my motorcycle too but what a rush. Unreal wow the whole way and thankful for life afterward!
The engine noises are just next level.🤤Well done for adapting with the car and the camera and mic. Just phenomenal 🙌
The clear audio was great to hear the nuances of some of your finer control in the tricky corners. Dancing the throttle and the turbo talking to you. But I am super happy you included the gopro mic only.. as it truly gives perspective to the speeds, and wind noise that I am sure was more like what you were hearing in the helmet at high speeds. Another excellent video Thanks Misha!
I was binging your videos and wondered why I haven't seen the Ariel atom, clicked home and this popped up. Heck yeah this is gonna be awesome!
No ABS / traction / stability, manual box and a higher power to weight ratio than a vayron and Misha is driving super smooth 😅
I drove few laps in a 2.0 supercharged atom few years back on old airbase made racetrack. It was a mind blowing experience, and would love to buy one someday.
Wow, what a visceral experience. Thank you for this video!
I have driven these a few times and totally love the Ariel Atom. A real raw experience but much more modern feeling than a Caterham. Brave drive taking it on the 'Ring though Misha.
Love this video, love the intensity and rawness. Driver excuses accepted 😉. Love the sound too, adds to the rawness of the experience.
That was really fantastic to watch! It gave such a clear view, even with the vibrations from the car but of the turning in points! Just delicious! 😊😉🤩👏👏👏👏👏👏👌
Simply awesome! That car is probably the most fun you can have on the ring!
Loved that! Absolutely rapid! Great driving and great video 💙Can't beat an experience of an Ariel Atom, old or new... They're all mental!
Wow awesome car, awesome driving, awesome video! Would have loved to hear more about your impression of the car's handling and characteristics after the laps. Can't wait to see what other content you have on the way for us!
That was great! The camera angle and probably the absence of the windshield really showed all the elevation changes.
These cars are intimidating. I do drive an Atom 2 300 and it took me a couple of track days to be able to wide open throttle... now I just want more (do have around 360hp now).
This second lap feels so much faster than the first one too, nice job !
Wow! What a machine! Your face after the laps was priceless. You gotta know it's getting serious when the owner packs a second full set of tires.
OMG... the feeling of speed in this thing must be amazing :D Shakiness of camera and sound of turbo and... breaks? That's like Ludicrous Speed from Space Balls itself...
@21:26 😵💪🏻
Big mic sounds 👌🏻
Fantastic sensation of speed, great drive Misha! 👏👍😀
Love this car! I like just down the road from the HQ and feel proud to see you at the wheel!
the hisses and rattles are so beautiful in that car. ive never heard such a pleasing rev and those pumps are talking.
That is a very well placed camera!!
It feels so immersive.
Great audio too.
Man, i love the Atom such a great machine to track days
I drove a none-supercharged Ariel Atom around Oulton Park. It was visceral to say the least! I remember aiming at “the tree” over the crest just after druids and thinking it was absolute lunacy! No driver aids + cold tyres and brakes certainly sharpens the senses!!
The Atom4 is the softer version of the Atom3, and I love my 3. I actually like it more. Car was a handful before I got it aligned properly, but now it's by far the most enjoyable car I own on the track.
That was the most epic video I’ve seen you do for a while Misha. Not that I haven’t enjoyed all the other ones but I’ve got to say this was just amazing 👍.
Great drive, big boy pants with no driver aids, was that opposite lock at 21.25 with a bit of a jump, Atoms are fun and great drive.
Now will someone give Misha a Caterham for a spin !
Dude that is so cool. This is why we are car guys, because of the variety between cars, it's insane!
Damn the sounds are soo intoxicating, absolutely love it!!
I approve this sick build. 👍🏼
Those chirps and tweets from the turbo are soo satisfying.
N/A lover saying this .....
OMG that turbo sound 😍😍😍
10seconds into the lap i LOVE the sound
2:02 "went so fast that the mirrors folded" lol good one Misha :D
That is insane how fast this car is! Absolutely amazing!
The best lap video was also the best video imo. The onboard mic provides the same kind of sensory overload that driving a car like that surely gives at those speeds.
Amazing that sound is incredible
Turbo noises galore! Love every bit of it, what a sick little car.
All the noises are just 👌
I find myself aiming for the markers from the Video you did with the Racecar Lady the other day... Thank You Professor...
yep -not going to rush this one Misha. This 22:39 needs to be properly studied - not often that we get to see this car, and getting ragged . love the engine overboost noises. big thanks
Best video to really get a feel of the topography.
The intake together with the amazing armount of grib is just insane🤩🤩
Insane Misha 😳
When we repeat?🔥
I think that there was no better place to put the GoPro than right next to the intake. Genuinely awesome experience just to watch. Can’t imagine being in the car
what an amazing Sound! Excellent Job!! You found the right spot to put in the Mic ;-) 👍🏻 And good driving also of course ;) must be a very cool feeling topless :D
That looked a proper rush 🔥🔥
Awesome video! Nice driving and awesome car!
Balls of Steel! Loved this one
2:52 bless you!
That turbo spool, flutter and Bov. 😮😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Sounds incredible.
What a driver!!!!!! Listen to that throttle control❤❤❤❤ amazing
Wow! I felt like I should've been wearing a helmet just to watch this. What a lovely sound too..
this is a great camera and audio setup, you guys really did a great job here
never had a ride in one of these, but in a copy of a Lotus Super Seven, which is kind of the same idea, that was both the most scary ride ive ever done, and probably one of the best ones aswell.
Been on track in the atom 4 and it is surprisingly forgiving and playful once the back let's go, very predictable, superb cars for the money 👌
those noises though 😍 that atom sounds insane
Sick :D
I've always thought about the Ariel Atom as the closest a car can come to a motorcycle. A bit scary and frightening and making you feel things, be in the element, concentrate :)
love the B rolls in the beginning, nice addition to intro! The blur is cause by low shutter speed on the gopro.
I really enjoyed (prefer, even) the uncluttered full screen view of the lap. The wastegate blow-off sound track alone is worth the price of admission. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
That was epic and literally made me smile on a rough day.
That car is a dream! Thanks for the content Misha
I love every part of this.
Amazing driving!
Misha that was amazing drive you left me speachless😮 that was an impressive lap, what I’d give to be sat in that car next to you😎💪 keep up the hard work amazing driving🔥🔥
What we have here, ladies and gentlemen, is the entire Parseltongue dictionary recited both forwards AND backwards. Truly astonishing, the work you've done with this ancient language. The community owes you its praissssssssssssssssss ssssssss ss s se.
😍omg,them turbo noises😍
We race a 92 325is in the us with no abs. It’s cost us on a couple of occasions, honestly it’s not something I like in a car. Great video, great car.
I had the privilege of owning the very first Atom 3 when I lived in the UK. Was such an incredible car. Was hoping to bring it back to NZ but ended up selling it (for £2000 more than I paid for it due to the long wait list). My highlight was driving through the mountain twisties on the way to Nice to watch the Monaco F1.
this is completely mental, has to be an insane experience.
