I was born during the later martial law years and so I grew up in the 80s from the post-martial law years to EDSA to Cory administration. It was still beautiful in the early 80s but sad to say, it all changed during Cory's time.
That is not a river it is a spring in Brgy. Bucal, Calamba City, Laguna. Up until now it is still clean and crystal clear it is the main source of potable water for Calamba City, it is along the National Highway , and people going to Los Banos can see this spring. We had a midnight curfew (nation wide) marijuana was the craze. Bell bottom pants was the fashion, life was easier then and most of all it was almost carefree for people of my age. From sept. 21, 1972 'till june 1973 we do not have class and when classes opened that june i was a 4th yr. Student almost learning nothing in our 3rd yr. High school. With all the anti marcos propaganda i learned to hate him, but as years went by i mellowed in my appraisal of the " dictator " and even came to a change of heart.
