I got the mako driver kit a couple years ago and it treated me great, but you can only get so far without tools. For the longest time I used off-brand tools from Amazon, but I was recently gifted this kit from a relative. The tools in this kit are such an improvement. They feel so much more sturdy. The jimmy knife is like night and day from the sad excuse my off brand toolkit gave.
Some of, if not the best $25 I’ve ever spent. This is the perfect kit for what I need it for, mainly for messing around with PCs and laptops. It’s packable, has all the crucial screw bits and everything feels top notch
i am interested in fixing broken phones like switching the battery and screen but i have a few questions if i could get help for them here: where do you buy the parts for phones and what are good prices? where do you get the phones to repair them? what is a good kit from iFixit and what equipment is necessary and what is just extra? and what are easy repairs? and how easy is this to start?
:'( still waiting on mine. USPS says my address is wrong and "forwarded to another address" but doesn't tell me WHERE it has been sent. I checked my address on my ifixit order and it is indeed correct.
Hi, I have bought this kit but unfortunately it was still missing the T3 for opening MacBooks. Hoping iFixit to update the kit soon. The kit was a treat but a bit disappointed by this.
Screwdriver should be replaced. Your Screwdriver you include in other kits is such a good a good tool. It doesn't need to be more - especially at the cost of being injection molded trash with a gimmick that'll be forgotten about when it's needed.
@Razer want a thermal paste for my razer blade 15 (2020) with which paste should I go with kryonaut, noctua nt nh1 ,or artic mx4,or kingpin kpx which one will last 8 -10 months without drying or significant rise in temp
Well I'm not Razer but from my experience it doesn't really matter with your selection they are all really good from all I know (can't speak for the kingpin kpx stuff). I bought both arctic mx4, cause it was a lot and on sale, and some noctua nt-h2 ... both perform pretty good from my expierience. Soooo I'd just pick what's the best deal for you at the moment :)
Isint Kingpin stuff designed for LN2 cooling? I would go with one of the other options. I bought a tube of Noctuas paste and it's served me well. Honestly, as long as you don't buy the cheapest product on Amazon, and you don't plan on pretty extreme OC, which you can't do on a blade 15, any will work
Old version used to have a tip for the sim eject. Since the sim eject has been integrated into the driver itself for v2, they now they have a different tip to take the place of the sim eject tip. I have v1 at home and v2 at work.

Legit one of the best purchases I've ever made, especially with the lifetime warranty on parts
i almost didnt buy it, im so glad i did

This is the only toolkit I used for my first 2 years of repairing. Best purchase ever! Highly recommend!
I have this exact same one. EXTREMELY useful. Never failed me once.

Very useful kit, worth every penny.
Would this kit be ideal for opening up game consoles?

Artic mc4 is really good try that.

Whats the difference between this kit (v2) and the old one?
If you look for the reviews from a couple years ago, the only difference i can see it that the old kit had different screwdriver.

Why does nobody talk about how ridiculously expensive their products are?
Quality has a price.

Come on. I bought mine 1 year ago and now you updated the screwdriver.
If yours is metal, the new one is a downgrade
