Same thing goes for rest of Middle East, WE influence them not the other way around.
All the food names are Greek, theres nothing "turkish" anymore because whatever Central Asian got mixed with the overwhelming Greek population is gone now.

This kind of sweet on top of yogurt is called glyko tou koutaliou which literally translates as "spoon sweet". There are all kinds of spoon sweets in Greece, from fruit to even vegetables like small tomatoes, small eggplants and carrot. It is called spoon sweet because traditionally the served portion is a spoon of sweet on a very small plate, which accompanies Greek coffee along with a glass of water. We use to serve it on yogurt as a desert and it is always a wining combination! So there is no name for that, it is yogurt with carrot spoon sweet or in Greek, giaourti me glyko tou koutaliou karoto. I'm sure that there are some brands available in Amazon if you'd like to order from outside of Greece.

    • @kourtourafi

There's no specific name: you order it as 'yogurt with candied carrot on top'. In Greece, there is an entire category of sweets called 'teaspoon sweets' (γλυκά του κουταλιού) because they are sort of... scooped out of a glass jar with a teaspoon and placed in a small plate. Essentially, they are candied fruit or nuts or even vegetables. They are actually very healthy; you simply boil them in a syrup made of water and sugar or honey, with some lemon juice or cinnamon or other spices for the aroma. So, you have candied figs, candied baby eggplants, candied grapes, candied sour cherries, candied chestnuts etc. These sweets are perfect as yogurt or even ice-cream topping.
