Cheers. I use SRP to block execution from specific folders such as downloads and user temp. I just learned that if you block temp execution that aslo locks down powershell and puts it in constrained mode. Anyway for windows home I recommend sordum askadmin tool which gives a simple UI front end to SRP.
Excellent video Britec! Now, can you tell us how to setup Windows so that the NSA doesn't spy on us (here in the States)? I hate that my windows system pings Akamai servers ~ very concerned. Even blocking particular IP's and IP masks doesn't work. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
Thanks Brian! Have been subscribed for some time now and am always amazed at your knowledge of computers! Could you just come to the states and visit me and do all this fun stuff on my laptop???!!!!! I am so clueless! lol
I have a problem: I installed this thing and I closed the installer but it thought I clicked it but I didn't. I installed malware bytes and I got the things removed. But my internet looks like it got ddosed because it said I have internet but when I load chrome it said no internet (tested it with other apps/game didn't work)
I know this is off topic but I have a comp that whenever scanned I get these tracking cookies so I remove them, but then the next day I scan and almost the same exact tracking cookies are there, and there are always like 13 to 26 tracking cookies on there. I use Norton. Does it just not remove them or how do they keep coming back?
Is there any place which I can donwload official WIndows 7 Home Premium x64 ISO file? I have a OEM key that came with my laptop, but my laptop came without WIndows DVD :/
Brian, I have joined your site, as dsdg2 I have posted the question under software , had one answer a link to the windows club, tried that .I can see how to download the GP edit, but dont know how to install it properly, any chance of you making a video on youtube? it's so much easer to follow your videos... thanks Brian, fingers crossed ...lol...
I would like to report to people who are are in the RUclips only allowing me to see certain things on my phone if they post them for a video for only their members to see I know it sounds crazy but this
It's totally retarded to use "disallow" on objects. The correct way is to disallow-all and then allow only those things to run that you want. I'm not sure though if M$ allows that with SRP. You might have to shell out for their AppLocker for that.
You might be right, all the features "appear" on Windows 10 Pro, but they don't work. Microsoft is making us waste our time. It goes back to the days of IBM licensing their PC OS to Microsoft exclusively, and making a major botch up. They could have put multiple OS on there, instead of giving the entire golden goose to Microsoft. IBM then tried to correct their colossal error by competing with OS/2 Warp, spending hundreds of millions, but it was too late.

Good video Brian but not many malware will be blocked by that.
+rounak dutta I think you might be wrong on this one.
Britec09 I might be, my experience in particular wasn't that good with it but that doesn't mean it doesn't work.

Clicking APPLY , then OK, is one step too many. Yes, I'm being nit-picky, but OK, does the APPLY for you.
OK, Apply. :-)
Tnx for nice video.
How to create this to .reg files:
SRP_Enable
SRP_Disable
+TheDjigibao I have added it in the video description
%UserProfile%\LocalSettings\Temp\7z*\*.exe Disallowed (i must chang userprofile with my name or stay without chang )

i am pretty sure that you can use "whitelisting" with SRPs although i admit ive not tried it
