The Boar demon's name Botan means "Peony". It's a bit of an anachronism, but in 1700s shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi released an edict which basically forbade killing of almost any animal. Of course that didn't stop people from hunting or farming, but they started calling meat different plant names in orded to avoid punishment. Deer meat was called momiji, which means "Autumn leaves", horse meat was called sakura, and chicken was called kashiwa, which means "Oak"
Since the spread of Buddhism, Japan has generally refrained from eating animal meat. However, the Suwa God, who governs rain, storms, and hunting, has always allowed meat consumption. (Nagano Prefecture lacks access to the sea, making it difficult to obtain protein.)
06:25 At the beginning of the battle, both armies shouted out loud before facing each other. At that time, the general shouted "Ei (sharp), ei (sharp)" (meaning encouragement to advance), and the entire army responded in unison with "Ou (answer)!" This was repeated three times to boost morale. The kanji for "ei" in "eiei" is "鋭",meaning "advance," and the kanji for "ei"is"応" is "response."
15:29 “Is that the title drop by the way?” Yes, it was. But the Japanese title is not exactly equivalent to “Elusive Samurai.” The actual title is “Nigejouzu no Wakagimi” 「逃げ上手の若君」which could be translated as “The Young Lord skilled at running away.” “Young lord” refers to the first born son of a high lord, whether’s it’s a prince, a warlord’s son, or even the first born son of rich, wealthy family. Takayuki is the heir to the Hojo Rejents (they are the puppet masters of the Minamoto Shoguns, who, in turn, are supposed to be running the country in place of the Emperor). Because most non Japanese will not understand immediately the concept of “young lord,” the translators went with “samurai” and shortened “skilled at running away” as “elusive.” Incidentally, the group they call themselves takes the “on” or Chinese reading the kanji characters for “逃 若 党” from 逃げ上手な若君の, which comes to “Cho-ja-toh” (Escape - Young - Party) which the subtitlers have made into “The Elusive Warriors.”
I think the people in episode 1 missed the part where he was already blushing during the dodging of the swords istg. Either way I am very happy they are doing this show justice, and am super super excited to see next episode
The art style is so good. I liked episode 3 because there were so many beautiful scenes. The way it transitions from one scene to another is awesome and so creative.
1:08 I’ve realized that a person sees what they want to see. To see a certain moment as sexual, especially when there isn’t any heavy implications most often speaks more about the person who sees it that way than how it may actually be. Hell, it’s even the same in obvious moments and situations. For instance, in Fire Force, so many people gripe and complain how the fanservice ruins the plot that they miss the story and characterization that’s being told through the moment.
The first few days, the subtitle be A.I Translated (google or openAI or DeepL). we have someone that comes in and clean up the translation a few days after stuff gets uploaded.
I agree that this ep was a bit dull compared to the first two. I actually dropped the manga series here for a while, but I regretted later. Once I picked it up again, I couldn't stop reading.
I totally agree with Dragonball Japanese. it was ok when I watched the OG in Japanese, because Goku was young and the female VA was right for that part, but when they kept her voice for adult Goku It was very jarring after hearing the dub VA. I still can't watch any Dragonball sub to this day.
Yorishige is the father figure Tokiyuki never had. He loves and educates Tokiyuki, makes him laugh with silly jokes, and is someone who would die for him.

I figured it had to be the title drop
1:13 もう終わりじゃなくて一周回って始まっちゃうのさすがニッポン。

The show went from JJK domain expansion -> Dragon ball -> Princess Mononoke -> Dungeon Meshi this episode
the next 1-2 eps will go crazy again. they just chill a bit in this ep
崖の下の物は天然の黒曜石だと思われます
I loved how Tokiyuki and the retainers build trust and teamwork. I can’t wait to see the next episode! 🔥
The blushing moment in ep1 was told in ep2 that he felt excited and enjoyment while running away, so yeah, I don’t think that’s a sexualize moment too
Yeah, Everyone cares too much. It's like they're confessing that they think that way.
時行は侍ではないと思うんだけど英語版のタイトルではなぜか「samurai」ってついてるんだよね、なんでだろ...
英語で例えるなら時行の立ち位置は「Samurai」ではなく下に侍を遣わせる側である「Prince」とかなんじゃないの?
Young lord の方が良くないか?皇子じゃないし。

This episode had more character animation than episode 2... this is a Heavenly Delusion level production
日本の歴史では、現人神の周りで不思議な事が色々起きているので神格化され崇拝されるのでしょう。
諏訪明神は、軍神、狩猟の神、道祖神、農耕神を司りました。
天候を変えられても不思議はないと思います。
日本語字幕付き大変だと思うけど、楽しみにしてる!
added Japanese subtitles with RUclips Captions. Not sure how accurate it is tho

アニメの設定では時行の年齢は8歳~9歳だけど、
歴史的事実としては、4歳~5歳なんだよな。史実は漫画より奇妙だ。
The quality of the animation kinda dropped in thsi one but i can understand why since i know what the animators have to animate next after this 💀
You must not know much about animation then

He prob can’t beat goku
Watch Dragon ball classic brother.

Bro changed his reaction title from Can You Beat Goku!? to Yorishige is a God!? lmao
I assure, gay stuff is getting bigger as time pases and I am not liking it.
i mean sure but how does it relate to this 😭
@@soleilpeik The guy and the lil boy almost kiss. Got flushed. Glad I didn't touched this anime from the start.
