  • In western Norway, the largest shipstunnel in the world is planned to be built. Many have written or produced videos about this. But elections next year cast a shadow on this project and it could be put on wait or at least slow motion. Hear her more about this prestigious project.

well, you probably made the video the other day, but if you had waited 1 day. You would find out that the government have allocated and prioritized the money. You should probably add that correction into you description

It is correct, that 3.2 billion Norwegian Kroner are allocated in the new National Transport Plan for the years 2025 - 2030. But it is also said that they want to see, what offers of potential contractors will show. 2024 said the Kystverket (national coast admin) that they calculated it would cost 4.09 billion. So there is a serious question, what happens, if the offers are more expensive than the 3.2 billion that are in the NTP. My fears are therefore still justfied.

2 kilometres at 5 knots might take a bit longer than 3 to 5 minutes.

    Thank you for your Video.
I have a bunch of qustions i would like to ask you.
Given the number of lives saved, i understand that you think one Tunnel is a good idea.
Is a dual-Tunnel-Solution entirely out of range or is it unreasonable ?
What reasons are there to Not make two Tunnels ?

Why should there be 2 tunnels? One tunnel will have enough capacity for the current ships traffic. 2 tunnels would be way too expensive. It is planned, that ships and boats can use the tunnel free of charge.

      Hello
So the Boats would pass in a caravan, like in Egypt.
You will find out that new Traffic-routes create traffic.
Such routes are usually a huge benefit for economy, as you pointed out yourself.
And they are most likely to create entirely new traffic.
Would you be so kind to tell us about the traffic-estimations ?
I have no clue how the people of Norway think about this project,
my guess is that at some amount a desire for less could rise.
What is the fish-breeders opinion on rising traffic ?
( As more propellers in the water mean more stress and more dirt for the fish )

The Norwegian government should explore more options for tunnel digging. As politics has postponed this project, and the focus and large tax money distribution now goes to Gaza, it time to invite the world’s best tunnel diggers to Norway, and it could mean peace in the Middle East too. In addition to the Stad tunnel, there are need for much more tunnel digging in this country. Norway already takes advantage of guest workers from Nepal, to build walk pats / steps to the city mountains. Cut the BS of politics, delaying such hands-on tunnel projects, and we have long lasting results and peace in the world. Any culture and languages for part-time workers are of no discrimination here. The ancient Egyptians did it, why not modern Vikings ?

Cool concept, and it would without doubt be a tourist attraction. And make sea transport safer and more predictable in bad weather. But: if the government (or more correct: the tax payers) have a limited amount of money, they should prioritize. Should the money be spent on a ship tunnel or for example road safety that can save many lives.

Well, the National Transportation Plan for the next 10 years has earmarked ca. 130 billion US$ for all traffic, sea and land. And the biggest part is for streets (repair and some new construction), only a small part is to be used for the sea traffic, one project is this shipstunnel. This has now been allotet 320 million US$ for the next 6 years. BUT this does not yet mean, that such funds really get included in the actual yearly budget ...

Very short sighted in delaying this. It will always become more expensive. The long term benefit will be enormous. Typical politicians only funding projects that can be finished in their term.
