I'm also a single female traveler with trailer.
Couple of suggestions
I have a list that I keep for hooking up and then reverse. This way I always have a cheat sheet to look at.
Please please chalk your trailer tires before unhooking.
Suggestions I carry bright orange soccer goals that I set out when backing to give me something to see behind me.
Practice makes it easier you have this.
Remember when backing turn the way your trailer is going to straighten it up. You got this !
My brother told me to go slow, steer from the bottom of the wheel (trailer goes the direction you're turning if hands are at the bottom), once you're lined up, follow the trailer and get out as many times as you feel you need to. His existential calm was deeply appreciated.
Amazing..my friend has a portable backup camera on hers and it helps her a lot
Hoorah! I have the same hitch lock and it is awesome. You’ll get used to backing it into place, hooking up, etc. and it’ll be like second nature. It is more work, but it’s worth it. It’s awesome that you just jumped into this whole lifestyle, and a travel trailer with no experience, with a can-do attitude! I think that’s so inspiring. A tip I have is that you can put a taller stack of those yellow block things under the tongue stand so you don’t have to wait forever for it to crank up and down. Another suggestion (from experience) is that the wheel chocks be put in place before the trailer is lifted off the ball. I lifted it one time without the chocks and it started rolling, but Thank Goodness the tongue foot thing stuck in the ground and caught it. Lesson learned! Im so excited for you!
I smiled through this whole video, you are my spirit person. I was praying for that back in though great job🤣🤣🤣.
It is simple went back in a combination vehicle you turn your wheel the opposite way you want to try to go so if you want to travel to go to the right, you turn your wheel true that if you want to go to the left it on your way to the right, because you in a combination vehicle
Love your music choices!
That was a great job you did on your suv and trailer, your awesome!!!!!!!!
Quick tip…….. Turn your steering wheel opposite of the way you want trailer to turn. Great job!
Thanks for the tip!
You look so happy!
Aloha Brittany, Just a little suggestion from a old (65) school camper. If you think this might help you, Get a Nice Battery Pack Power Drill with High low Speeds for your trailer stands. “Enjoy The Journey”
Good job, don't forget to get wheel blocks to hold the trailer in place, and enjoy your new home
This is all wonderful. I wish I could afford the money to have my small tiny house. I wish you well. You are young enough to have that experience. I hope, at my age of 75, I can one day have your experience living tiny, I'm not giving up, even on a fixed income.
You can do eccentially the same thing as semi truck drivers. When they are backing up, They use the painted lines on the ground to line up the trailer when they are parking at a dock. I have faith in you that you will do just fine with a little practice. All the best to you
You did fine backing up. It takes practice. You were practicing GOAL...Get Out And Look. Take all the time you need. Try to get it as level as possible when parking and you will have less work to do. All in all great job. Happy Camping!
Hi there. A backing tip: hand on bottom of steering wheel which will send back of the trailer in the direction you are turning the steering wheel - Example: hand on bottom if steering wheel - turn steering wheel to the right and trailer will back to the right - turn steering wheel the left and trailer will back to the left.
My father thought me this and it works flawlessly. Using this method and you don't even have to think about which way the trailer rear-end will go. After some time it will become second nature. Good luck to you young lady and happy travels. Please be safe out there!
Hi Brittany. I am so excited for you and your new home. Yes it's a little more work but then it becomes old hat after a while. Just remember to chock your tires to camper before releasing it. Trust me if you are on a hill chasing it isn't helpful. Lol I know because I did.
Thanks for the tip 💖💖💖
Brittany, you are working so hard. I only want to encourage you in your endeavors. You are an amazing person.
🥰🥰🥰 thank you, I appreciate you noticing 🌼
When backing up a professional trucker said "Put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel so if you want the camper to go right you move your hand right. And left direction matches left."
Hi Brittany. Always, always chalk your wheels before you unhitch. If you look at your video you can see that your trailer started to roll. That could be a catastrophe. Put one chalk in front of a wheel and one chalk behind the same wheel. Be careful!
Always chock the wheels before disconnect saving your fingers or damage to tow vehicle. You only have 2 chocks place both on one wheel preventing rolling forward or backwards. Safe travels.
THIS IS JUST SO MUCH MORE WORK!!
I LIKED THE FACT YOU WERE ABLE TO RIDE OFF,WITH OUT GETTING OUT YOUR VEHICLE!!
BUT, YOU A BIG GIRL AND CAN HANDLE YOUR BUSINESS!!
CONGRADULATION BABY!!
Greetings from Washington DC Brittany. I know where Lorton Va. is. Early in my career, I had to go to Lorton, Va., to qualify at their shooting range on the prison property. That area has changed so much since they closed the prison. I don't miss that long ride from and back to DC. I pray you enjoy your camp stay.
Great job Sis, it will get easier the more you back up. With these one axle trailers sometimes if the ground is uneven it doesn't matter which way you turn your wheel, they will start to go the opposite of where you want it to go. When that happens take a deep breath, relax and pull forward and start reversing again, works every time. I know that you don't show everything on video, but make sure that you level from side to side before unhitching (its important that you are level so that your refridgerator will work properly), chalk your wheels then take the car off the hitch. You can then level front to back with the automatic jack. I'm looking forward to your adventures in that cute Rpod. I have a teardrop and I absolutely love her!
🥰🥰 thank you for taking the time to type this out, appreciate the tips 💖🌼
Yeaaaaaa....I can barely wait until it's my turn...I want a campervan.
Awww I wasn’t ready for the video to end. I’m so happy & proud of you !!!!🙏😁💕
🥰🥰 thanks friend
Am I the only one saying Driver, driver now passenger as she backs up? I love her innocence in the matter but too what a great place to practice backing up!
I’m so proud of you queen you hitched that trailer like a pro ❤❤❤❤❤ 2023 we are welcoming positive vibes and prosperity 💪🏽💪🏽
🥰🥰 yes we are!! That's the ONLY thing I am welcoming 🌼 Thank YOU so much for watching 💖
Of course, your motivation for my own nomad journey
Good for you Brittany. Backing up is crazy, trying to figure out which direction to turn the wheel. You’re going to be a pro before long. I have faith in you.
Just started pulling my camper. It is a lot of work but the experiences I've had out weigh it all. 😃 You back in like I do LOL
When ever you are back in Arizona let me know you are welcome, Avondale, Az
Darling I think you are doing way more work than necessary.... Just to stay the night you don't even have to unhook. Just raise your tongue lift enough just to take the weight off the bumper. You could still use your levelers if you want but you don't have to... It's just going to rock a little bit more if you don't. Or just use the rear ones to stabilize a little bit.. but if you plug into power just unplug from your truck and replug before you go. . you don't have to do all that unhooking unless you were going to stay there for a couple days or use your vehicle and leave your trailer behind.
God bless you and yours and all my brothers and sisters out there!😇
Thanks but I stayed multiple nights there... but I get what you're saying
@@WhereIsBrittany that's good... Although I have few years of experience with travel trailers... My site is non-secular, I try to use it to help wake people up and not be of the world. We could only plant seeds, it's the Lord who does the growing and harvesting. If you click the green kay ... It'll take you there.... Blessings! 😇
@@WhereIsBrittany PS you're a beautiful young lady be careful out there!
Good job hitching up and backing in!
You are doing a great job backing in. So glad you know to get out and check where you are in the process. Slow and easy. Never rush.
Thanks so much 🌼
Girl I'm watching your vid and realize you are at the Aldi up the street from me lol. You are a beautiful person and I wish I could be as adventurous like you... maybe one day. Safe travels.
Girl, you’re a boss!
This is why I switched to a Van. Depends on what your priorities are. For me, getting there needs to be easy, I spend most of my time outside anyhow.
You did great backing in Brittany. Perhaps one day I will learn how to do that stuff too. I am so excited for you! You are such an inspiration! Spring is approaching! I can't wait to see what you and Jada Baby get up to!!!
I'm so looking forward to spring, but remembering to enjoy these down moments. The slowness of it 🥰🥰 I hope you're able to get out on the road as well... it's peaceful out here
Told You. You Can Drive Anything. That Was Awesome Backing Into That Small Spot
Yes!
Watching you back that camper made me remember CDL class...you got this, sis. The more you do, the better you get and ya did it.
🥰🥰 thank youuuuu 💕🌼
Great job ladybug. We have a pull behind camper and I have never pulled it or backed it up. I help with everything I can. You are stronger than you know.
👍🏽 Good job, Brittany! Whohoo!!!
Thanks for taking a old lady along in your voyage. I can’t travel like I use to and it makes me happy to go along on your voyages 😊
A travel trailer may be more work than a van or motorhome but their way more comfortable when you get to a destination
Lovely getting to follow your journey! 🌹
Yassss back on the road we goooo 🚙 💨
True, very true, towing a camper trailer is a lot more work and responsibility. I use to own a vintage, tear drop shaped trailer, so be careful. It's a different adventure with a trailer behind you................ Relaxing in my huge colorful hammock swaying, cold day
Thank you for sharing a solo woman doing the darn thing 🙌🏽🎉🙌🏽🎉
Congrats! Enjoy! Stay happy! Be safe! Godspeed.
First thing your want to do is chock those before disconnecting the truck. Steps: first you always want to assess your site to see how close power and water hookup are (if available).
1) Level trailer side to side 2) chock tires front/back of tires 3) remove chains & power adapter 4) level trailer front to back 5) let slide out (if you have them)….then enjoy
Congratulations! The new hitch! Please put Jada away when you’re setting up😮 I was holding my breath the whole time uncranking. Also you probably shouldn’t put your legs under there as well 😬
Congratulations on your new home!! Now you don't have to worry about repairs. I know you're going thru things, I am too. If you ever in Tampa.. I'm here if you want to talk. I wish you and Jada the best!
👍🤩💝Terrific job with the trailer. Excellent job backing in and setting up too. 💝
💡🙏PLEASE DON’T touch your FACE with the GLOVES. 😩
Love to see you so happy, broke my heart to see you cry…have fun
You did fantastic backing into your parking space! I just discovered you the other day the videos are fun, informative and real!!♥️ Safe travels you are protected by God ♥️
You did great backing up! And every time you do it, it will get easier! Good for you!!!
This was fun to watch and the music choice was immaculate!
Thanks fren 🌼💕
I am so excited at you doing the dang thing making the hitch/unhitch look so easy when I KNOW it is not. Kudos!
Great job Britt, make sure to have a check list when you hitch and unhitch, Do the darn thing I love it.
I love the earrings 🤩
I love your little home Brittany and as usual be safe you and Jada baby.
OMG, that was you I saw in Aldi! I kept telling my daughter, “I think that’s Brittany” and she said, “Mom, no one comes to Woodbridge”. 😫
Hahahaha it's a small world 😅
Wedges on both sides of the tires please. It can role either way. You are doing great. I pull my travel trailer by myself too. I am older but still excited to find someone else that is independent. You are like sunshine. Thanks for sharing.
Girl you're quite handy and experienced with this mechanical operation. I'm gonna just watch and learn at this point. And as a matter of fact they have a battery operated dolly that actually allows you to physically move your trailer, I mean literally roll it around like you're moving furniture in your house, and it doesn't cost that much. Look at videos of battery operated Dolly's that move trailers.. It's called Trailer Valet XL dolly.
Also might want to look into a surge protector just be be safe when hooking your power up using the adapter ❤
Former truck driver here. Try to remember to have a good set of gloves handy to put on every time you handle your hitching and unhitching. You don’t want to injure your hands and the gloves give you a good grip. Also, get you a routine you do every time you travel so you’ll never forget anything. Backing up remember the direction you turn your wheel your trailer goes the opposite. Get out as many times as you need to check your trailer. Happy travels!!🙏🏽🤍
I would definitely chalk the wheels first before you replace the ball from your car just so it doesn’t roll away! Other than that great job on backing it up smaller trailers are way harder than bigger ones because they tend to easily get jack knifed
Congratulations Brittany!!!! Im HAPPY for you and Jada Baby. Keep the Lord and Prayer in everything you do. Can't wait to see all your future adventures in the new wip!!! (HUG)
You did that girl, good for you. You are doing really good so proud of you.
Put a cover over the door lock button it’s a must. My dog lock the doors on me while I had the heater running at full blast I was about to break the window and the lock guy finally got there and unlock my car. Dogs and cats lock you out all the time by standing on those buttons. I also get a hide a key as a back up. You got it down already from my point of view.
I have binge watched you all day as I am crocheting my hands off trying to finish an emergency bday present.
Thanks for keeping me company all day. I tried to be sure and like and comment everything.
You did it girl!! I appreciate you showing this. It makes me feel so much better!
Hi Brittney, we are fans! We are Rvr'S as well. Very important note. Always chock your trailer tires before unhooking. I'm sure you noticed the short roll back when you disconnected. Please be safe when connecting and disconnecting. One more thing if you don't mind. Don't lock the hitch in the open position either before you disconnect, because sometimes the ball will not so easily pop out from under the cup and your electric jack will raise your tow vehicle as well. Ok again be safe.
Thanks for the info, i don't know what you mean on the second part 🥺 don't lock the hitch in the open position... can you say that in a easier way for me to understand 😮💨 sorry I'm trying to imagine what you mean but I'm still so new
Its a little tough to explain, but if you noticed the electric jack was lifting you car as well as the trailer; sometimes the hitch ball does not pop out so easily (maybe it did for you because of the grease). Anyhow its a matter of convenience sometimes you'll need to hop back in the car and back up or pull forward inches to be able to disconnect. Thanks again for sharing you travels.
@rollingwithbliss8175 I actually got you lol thanks for responding!!
You got this it's a little more work but you just got it with a little practice you will be fine stay safe and blessed as you continue on your journey
You rock girl! What you do is a amazing. You're a inspiration for every women. I love camping and my husband don't. You show me that is possible for me to do it alone. Thanks for your sharing, it's very helpful.😊❤
That's pretty awesome first time back up by yourself that's good practice make perfect 😉😊😁🌹🌹
Interesting - we had considered the camper route but went with our van instead - just for these reasons - and so far do not regret that decision! Keep making memories & adventure on! ~Karen & Shannon WOY
Outstanding job hooking up the camper, backing in, setting up and paying close attention to sweet little Jada. Well done. Gives me hope that I can do this also😊
Just bought my very own caravan for solo travel throughout Europe. Looking forward to it but also terrified. Did my driving competency today. My first solo trip to France in November. ❤
Your so brave
"Jada, you'gon have to wait child. " I love it! My dogs are my babies too. You did a fantastic job. I can't wait to get out there!!
Wow, that was a lot. It reminds me of this BF RUclipsr I watch, Niesha K that drives 18-wheelers for work. A lot of hitching, etc. Sounds like, from the comments, that it’ll get easier & that’s wonderful! Really good seeing the smile on your face. You got this!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I've always preferred the ability to jump in the seat and go type of vehicle. Trailers have their pros, though. Great job! 🎉
Hello My Lovely Darling Brittany, Perhaps Wally World, or an Auto Parts Store will have these Orange, or Yellow Cones. Get about 6 of them, BEFORE you start to back up to park, Put them in a Straight Line where you want to park, maybe 3, or 4 feet apart. Then it will give you more of a Visual Aide to help you back up more easily. If you can GUESSTIMATE approximately where you want your trailer axle to be, then set a cone out to the outside of your backup cones. Like an L shape. This should make it easier for you to backup, and park. Best of luck to you as always.
Congrats, and you look so well rested. May god continue to bless you and stay safe out there you and jadababy🎉😊
Yes a bumper pull is more work than a motorized rv/van/bus. I finally sold mine as there was too much getting up and down and I'm a lady in my senior years. I liked the minivan camper a lot. I even had an SUV made into camper, but minivan was my fave. I did miss being able to stand inside. Especially when there was a string of bad weather days. Your new little trailer is cute and will give you some new adventures.
You are glowing 🤩 You did that with Tia & Tamara! I’m sooooo happy for you & Jada❤️🐾
So happy for you, keep moving forward, 🙏🙏
Awesome job hitching your bumper pull trailer 👏
Wow, got it in one go. Nice to see the solo trailer hookup process, thanks!
Are you happy? I am happy for you. Dom sever its purpose, here for a season! God is all the way good. You go girl!!!

Hi when you back up try to be as straight as you could to where you’re going to back up at. The steering wheel place one hand at 12 o clock . You are going to stay between 10 to 12 to 3 like on a time clock keep it going in between those numbers only back n forth… next thing you know you’ll be backing her up straight ❤❤❤❤
Looks like a lot more work but what matters is your happiness!!!!! And that you for taking us with you!
🥰🥰 thank you for watching 💖💖
Yes! 🙏🏾💐
What a nice camper, you backed up find. It’s a little more to do as far as settling in, but once that’s done it look comfortable.
I admire you Brittany....enjoy your journey!
Thank you so much!!
Yayyyyy....great job
You are a great backer upper, just keep telling yourself that! I am excited about your new beginning
You should invest in a couple of orange cones (the small ones) and set them up as a guide when you back in!
