@@updated4222 I didn't manage to stop the beeping sounds :( but could easily be fixed with a software update. I found when I change from "Staying" to "Walking" for example, the audio cuts out for a brief second with a single beep.
The beeping sounds can be cut off! Go into the Headphones Connect app, then the System tab.. Go to the Notifications & Voice Guide, then turn that off. That will prevent the beeping whenever a new mode is sensed.

Nice review! If the WF-1000XM3 are like the WH-1000XM3 (the full-size headphones), the random beep comes from the adaptive sound mode changing. It’s annoying that it doesn’t just change silently, but it will stop beeping if you turn all voice guidance off.

Coming from a set of galaxy buds + the sound quality is amazing can't really fault them yet. Also the odd beep is the ambient sound changing mode. You can turn it off in the app settings.

Rocking these for 1 year now, dropped it easily 50 times on concrete and floor tiles but never ever had any issues. About the waterproof thing, well I usually don't hang out in the rain but I know it can also take sweat without any problems.

Do you think by walking or moving around the house they stick well in the ears?
This is what I was looking for. The not suitable for the gym due to sweat was a dealbreaker. Which is too bad because I bought them specifically for that .
I have heard a lot about these and I am currently researching new Bluetooth devices. You gave the best synopsis of these earbuds abilities then any other person thus who tries to compare too many items at 1 time.
You also touched on all of the very in court and pros and cons of this device and help me make a decision with the waterproof portion. You also pointed out to me that they are rather large and I have rather small ears so this is not going to be an option for me. I'm definitely going to subscribe.

Just bought this one, my only main concern was ear fatigue. After 30min couldn't bare having it on my ear but saw a review and bought a memory foam tips which solved the issue.

The beeping is when you have the earbuds set to “automatic” switching depending on room sounds. Set it to manual and you won’t get the beeps.

I have had these and the 4s for years and I have the headphones too. They are perfect in terms of volume and sound quality and the noise cancellation is fantastic especially on the 4s. However in both the earphones the battery life severely declined after 1 year to 2 hours max with noise cancellation off. Also they’re particularly heavy I couldn’t imagine running with them.
Hello sir. as you’ve had these earbuds, may you please tell me if these are good for Exercising? I wouldn’t take them out if it’s raining, but will they stop working If I used them will lifting or doing some exercise?? Thank you
@@josearturobaez hi, I would say they are on the heavy side, the earlier grey 3s certainly. The newer black ones (also 1000xm3) are lighter. I think the very latest 4s are lighter still. My girlfriend thinks they are a better fit for her than me and they come with multiple different sizes of the removable rubber buds. You can buy foam ones from 3rd parties which I understand is better still. I have the headphones 1000xm3 and these would be best for exercise if you could deal with them. They have amazing noise cancellation. Hope that helps 👍🏾

The battery sucks
Perfect review mate, you deserve many more subs! I'm buying them tomorrow and hope they live up to their name. Could have gone for the wh-1000xm3's but need these for the gym (ie smaller). Will be careful tho since they're not waterproof.

Every one complains about lack of 'water-proofing'. However, I left mine in short pants pocket and hand-washed them in a basin after a work out. Immersed in water for about a minute. Dried them in mild sunlight...worked well.
Until, was attacked by a magpie, which knocked the left one out of my ear (as well as drawing blood). Didn't notice it was missing for about 10 min. By the time I walked back, it had been run over by a car. Rather squashed. It didn't survive that. So there is a free right-bud ad charge case for anyone who is interested!

I am currently sitting next to a noisy air conditioner, a noisy PC, and I can't hear either of them through my music. This is amazing. I was looking for a wireless earbud that could do what my Beats wired earbuds could do with noise cancellation. I found them. I'm sold. Thank you Boss!

@@codeinehq Sorry for the delay in the response. The call quality is actually really good. I tried it the first time in an empty, quiet room and it was great. I wanted to see how it would work outdoors on a busy street (I live in New York City), and it actually delivered VERY good quality on both ends. It does everything well.

Based on my experience (6 +/- months later) I would not buy these again. You can read all the reviews and do your own research and I must have bought one of the many defective pairs. They work fine for a while (and the sound is amazing) then days of connection issues, with blue tooth constantly dropping and for perspective it can be 10 or more times in an hour. Reset this, do that blah blah blah - but why should I, why is Sony selling a product with so many poor reviews. Had a really bad run this week of everyday poor performance (after months of them working great) and I am sending them back. I also use a wireless Jabra headset and Skull candy wireless and never dropped once, no issues with these products on the same device. Also, for me they worked well for walking but couldn't use them at the gym as they would literally fall out of my ear - YMMV here.

I've just ordered these to pair up with my Wh-1000XM3s. I'll use the over ears whilst commuting and the need for stronger noise cancelling is needed, and the in ears for exercising, walking etc.

The beeping (as others mention) is just the buds changing between modes.
IP Rating, Sony didn't go to the trouble of being the buds IP certified. However that does not mean that they aren't water resistant. You can safely use them in the gym and there is no need to worry about using them when is raining.

I disagree. My left one stopped working. Case looks fine. Charging nodes & pad look fine. Charging spots on left bud look fine. Thoroughly cleaned them all.
Left and right one have been repeatedly subject to sweat moisture.
Now right one wont shut off when on it's charger.
This is after 3 months of ownership.

The Random Beeps are because of the ANC function where the Sony analyze what are you doing at the Moment, just sitting inside, walking or what ever. Everytime the Situation changes , then it will quit this by a beep from the left side

IM a crane operator and I bought these for the noise canceling. I’ve been using them for two weeks everyday and as far as the sound and ANC it’s really good but as soon as you try to make a phone call in a noisy environment both the person on the other end and I sound like our voices are crackling. This would be a 10 of 10 device but the call quality is very very poor unless there’s no wind and your standing still. Anyone else experience this? I returned a pair thinking it was defective but they both performed the same. Also the ear tips provided are not comfortable and the earbud makes it’s way loose in my ear after 15 min I had to get comply foam ear tips which helps a little. I have an iPhone 11p and I’m not sure if they have compatibility issues but I think I’m gonna see if the iPod pros work better for my situation
Yes, for speaking it is not the best pair of headphones and I also experienced issues with the calls and people not hearing me well.
tyrannydrums I just ordered the comply ear tips for my mine too. They should be coming in the mail today. Hoping they want fall out! And as for the AirPods pro they do stay in your ear a little better but not by much. They loosened up after having them on for about 30 minutes and that was with the biggest ear tips.

Weird question I know, are they comfortable in bed ? Like listening to them with my ear on a pillow ? Are they painful ? Do they stutter ?
Another question, if not running or working out, just casually doing work and daily activities, will they fall off ?
They are comfortable in bed if you stay on your back or stomach. As for me, they are pretty comfortable and I had only one instance when it fell off and it was during a workout.

They are very uncomfortable if you turn your head sideways I. E. Place ear on billow as they are not flush with ear so they get shoved against your head.... I usually just wear one in one ear and then the other ear lies on pillow.... Good if listening to a talk show rather than music

I haven't had any issues with the fit. They haven't fallen off, no matter the activity. They can be a bit uncomfortable when you're lying sideways on a pillow. It kinda pushes into your ear a bit too much. However, when I adjust the angle of my head slightly, it doesn't bother me.

Con: connecting to a different device needs you to pair it again and some connection issue here and there. I wish ypu can just switch to a different device without reconnecting again

Had a lot issues with the connectivity with my iPhone 11 Pro Max and Windows laptop.
On my iPhone 11 Pro Max, it sometimes does not auto connect upon removing it from the case. Not very common but occasionally it just drop connection or restart on its own too. It sometimes stutter too. Ony iOS 14 beta 2, it drops connection very often. It could be the beta that is causing it but let's wait and see.
On my Windows laptop, it stutter a lot. Way more than my iPhone. Maybe a 10+ times in a song. It is not like long pauses of stutter but like a few ms of stutter. It is definitely noticeable though.
Maybe it is better on Android but if you are using an iPhone 11 series device, I won't recommand you get this.

You can try prioritising the connection instead of sound quality on the Connect app. However, I'm not sure whether there's one for PC(there isn't one for Mac yet).
Hmmm...I have an 11 pro but I haven’t had that problem. The only time it stops and restarts is when I move. For example, if I sit and then stand, it pauses to recalibrate it to track my movements. Or if I’m standing and start moving.
I really like the design, especially the case. I'm going to buy either this or Jabra elite. Thanks for inspiration and authentic review!

I just bought these today while at target, which were on sale, and the only problems I’ve come across so far is that u need to use the app to see the charge on the case. I’m new so idk if there’s another way to check it but I also have an iPhone so this might b the problem. The other problem is the beeping which he mentioned in the video. It gets annoying but I think it gets fixed up by taking an earpiece out and putting it back in ur ear. Even tho I don’t regret buying these, I still think AirPods are better. The WF-1000XM3’s just look better. Still tho, the earbuds are still damn good and that noice cancellation is gooood🔥I’ve never had noice canceling before so whenever I put on anything noise canceling, it makes my head hurt tho so hopefully I get used to it. It feels the same as when ur in high altitudes and the pressure makes ur ears get plugged up

Two features I would like: The Volume can be adjusted via the touch sensor. Each earbud can act as an independent blutooth headset for calls in mono.

I wish I can use google assistant and adaptive sound control on/playback control on the same earbud. It's a bit irritating to lose out on quick attention, just so that you can use the assistant.

The left just take so much more longer to charge, what a racket! And lasts for about 3 hours with dsf turned off! After 1 year now. Definitely degrading, but my God the audio is still stunning!

They completely fell apart (glue turned to complete liquid) in 5 months. No water damage, no heat exposure. Just fell apart one day out of the blue, oozing liquid where I assume glue is meant to be.

These are all great, but prices are INSANE (also for airpods pro etc.). For less than 50% of the price you get a proper Beyerdynamic DT770pro headphones for example. 90eur? Sure, but they cost around 230eur and just not worth it.

Random beeping is in adaptive sound on , so if u turn adaptive sound you will not have that problem

It depends on how strong it is but I think that yes!
The Random Peeping sound could be because of the sound cancellation mode being on automatic, so when you are setting and suddenly decide to move, it does a little peep to notify that it changed the settings to walking.

I have the WH-1000xm3's as my daily driver cans. They are great for being out and about. I wonder if you have experience with those VS the buds reviewed here.

@@updated4222 Give em a shot. I ended up buying the WF's as a companion shortly after this comment, and they are fine, but boy howdy the ANC on the WH's is an endless tomb of silence by comparison.
Turn off active ambient noise controls, you shake your head and it will drop sound to switch to a different mode like walking. You can turn it off in the app. Besides you don’t need these tracking you anyway.

Another thing you might know, if you turn on DSCHE and Turn on Equalizer, with noise canc. they will give you only 2 hours on max vol! usually its enough, but if you going to long trip, better remember my words lol

You're running with these??? These fall out even if walk around the house. Regardless of which rubbers I use. Also the beeping sound is when the adaptive noise cancelling is changing based on what it thinks you are doing. The App now has the option to disable this.

1 year later but I just bought them because there are in offer in my country for about 78 USD. I want to ask you, your experience with the foams earbuds after a several months use.
Did them hold up over time or did they fall apart? How do you take care of them so they last?

U can only connect 1 device at a time not up to 8 holding for 7 seconds does not connect multiple devices it disconnects u from the current device and allows u to connect to a new one also I have issues with the left earbud dropping and reconnecting frequently for no reason I looked online and this is a common problem so its not just a bad pair in my opinion they are good but I expected more based on all the amazing reviews I expected them to be a 4.5 out of 5 minimum but I'll give them about a 3.5

@@updated4222 but that number is pointless if u have to disconnect your current device it should actually be unlimited number of devices because u are disconnecting the bluetooth completely from the first device so at that point it's basically a fresh headset again

Had mine couple days... problem is the left side bud looses it's charge, rapidly drops from 50% to 20% and message to recharge... This can be in an hour or hour and half.. the only thing that works is to turn off all the bells and whistles which seems to make battery last bit long.
Very good sound though and the 360° recordings are great!

I'm curious to buy these earphones. I work riding a motorcycle all day, and wear my helmet over my ears. I think they would work extremely well as I can use the phone itself to control the output etc.
Does the "Ambient" setting allow some street noise through without allowing all noise through but not fully cancelling too? Ultimately, that's what I want I think.

Very helpful review. It looks like these earbuds now support Alexa, which is a plus for me. I love my over-ear WH-H900N, so Sony was my obvious first option to check out in looking for earbuds. I was almost put off when I couldn’t find any mention of volume control on the buds, but I see that it’s possible to reassign another function to allow for that. Can someone tell me which other function can be changed to volume control? Thanks.

I purchased these last week. Music quality fantastic noise cancelling excellent. Call quality very very poor for the price. Even had to contact Sony ref this, they told me reset and initialise headset again. Still poor and even worse taking a call with only one earbud in. Crackling noise signal dropout. I prefer my Samsung galaxy plus buds to wear all day. They are small light comfortable with great call quality. Battery is fantastic on Samsung's. Might try Sennheiser buds nx as I want good all-round quality at premium price.

Personally I'm taking mine back today bought them yesterday I can safely say the noise cancelling is week to not even on I have the Sony over hears and they are unbelievable instantly now the sound cancelling is working these its that week I'm unsure its turned on or not my main reason of perches is for cancelling sound not covering it up with load music

Are these worth the bump in price over the the standard cheap, generic $30-$50 amazon ones like purity one, soundpeats etc.?
If you go cheap like 30-40 then try piston earbuds or go with this or Jabra elite 😃
The app doesn’t let me see the battery life for the charger. How’d you get yours to show?
It was shown from the beginning. Maybe try to update to the latest version of the app?

Latest update u can see charger battery life also.This is not latest update, new fully changed interface is current app.

What’s that beeping sound / can it be cancelled? Can you have a telco conversation and can you make calls?
It cannot be cancelled, it is somehow of an adjustment. I am not aware of the device being able to make calls.

I had the opportunity to try both models in the showroom. The 1000XM3 has better noise cancellation, but the SP 800N is pretty good too. And I don't think you have to worry about the IP rating if you're worried about sweat or rain. I've worn these while working out and in the rain, and I haven't had any issues. I've also seen a post on Reddit where others have observed the same. As long as you don't drop it in water, I don't think you'll be having issues.
