  • "'Weather or Not"
For a couple weeks before our trip, my friends and I watched the weather- we were looking at two of the six days to be 100% rain and cold, and the rest- snow, wind, and ice with temps between 20-30 much of the time. We looked for any positive changes- elated one minute when the rain percent improved, down to biting our nails when it looked dismal on other weather channels and radar. We checked so often the long-range weather- analyzing it so much we could graduate in meteorology, that we felt as bipolar as Oregon weather in the spring time. While we had a mixed bag of weather with temps between 20-40f- rain, sleet, wind, snow, and ice with peeks at the sun, it really was fine, we just bundled up and kept moving... it was part of the grand adventure in the mix of being among the mustangs. 'Weather or not', we were determined to go and make the best of it.
Out on the range and on our feet typically from early light to twilight- Went out for the first time this year with friends Alice McCammon and Shannon Phifer. We experienced every weather condition except for drought on this wild spring trip. At times it was so cold and so windy we had to brace against it and steady our lenses- bundled up in layers of cloths & hats, and heavy packs. Day three and four out of six, we logged in and confirmed on our various mileage readers, well over 10 miles a day.
The rest of of the trip on the way home, we spent looking for other critters. Six days of roaming wild with two good galpals, sharing adventures and incredible sights, mustangs, all kinds of wild critters and raptors, high elevations and expansive views.
