love that the brothers...are brothers and friends and in a band again...but, hate that steve is not there. steve is 1/3 of the crowes. he is the heart and soul of that band. please guys...the new band you have is great. great dudes. killer players. but steve is missing in so many ways. his pocket and feel IS the backbone of the black crowes.

I am a huge Crowes fan. I saw them open for Aerosmith and Shake your Money Maker was to be released a month later! I have seen them 7 times. One of the best shows I ever seen was at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. Not to sound like sour grapes, but my biggest peeve is guys from bands touring as their band and its not, This is not a Black Crowes reunion or tour Its the Robinson Brothers and hired musicians. to me its false advertisment.
First, the Crowes have always had change over. Always. Whether it is Marc Ford, Audley Freed, or Luther Dickinson, there has not been a set player. I can say the same for bass. Gorman has always been the drummer, and so that one hurts. But, in general, those players changed but the Robinson brothers were the center. The new members in the band? Phenomenal. Isaiah Mitchell is a monster player. Go check out his band Earthless. He may be the closest thing to Hendrix out there right now. A great player. Raj Ohja and Joel Rabinow are from the killer psych band Once and Future Band. I think they found some darn good players, arguably better in my opinion than Hess, Freed, Dickinson, Johnny Colt, you name it. The shows will bear it out.
Jack Thompson I don’t think anybody was ever anything other than hired except for Steve. Steve hates them both and wouldn’t want to be there. So really not much to mourn there. The past is the past and i rather they’re working together than not quite frankly

They are only in name 'the black crowes' now. Nothing in common with that incredible band that last toured in 2005/06. Will never equal the true TBC band.
