Acho que essa sequência aí é a mais OP da história do MMA, sinceramente dificilmente algum ser humano se defenderia kkkk, talvez o Bruce Lee e olhe lá, até o Anderson acho que não segurava.
Master Carlson Gracie is in the back, he was Vitor coach and manager at the time. Such a honorable man, instead of celebrate his pupil victory he was worried about Wanderley health, that is a true master of martial arts. All my respect to him and whole Gracie family.
There's rumors Vitor was in the back warming up but was terrified of fighting Silva. Was allegedly crying to his coaches. Dude still went out and got the KO in 50 seconds. And never gave him the rematch 😂
Sabem o que não tem preço nesta luta?! O Vitor levou o cara a nocaute bem no local onde se encontrava seu Mentor, o Legendário Carlson Gracie que viu o Wand apagado bem debaixo de seus olhos!\0/
Talk about styles making fights. As tough as Silva could be, his style was perfect for Vitor. Fans wanted to see a rematch, but I’m pretty sure the result would have been pretty much the same, it just would have probably lasted longer.
He was one opponent that Wand couldn't overwhelm with his blitzes, and his fighting style made him vulnerable to Vitor's boxing. Agree 100%. I'm a huge Wand fan but this is one matchup he'll lose every time.
Yeah, the way Wand wades in and tries to take your head off played right into Vitor’s hands. Once he got a chance to start letting his fists go full speed it was over. Guys like Randy who can beat him up from the clinch and wrestle him to exhaustion or Liddell who can snipe him from the outside were the ways to beat him.
I used to emulate those punches during practice with a training partner onboard the ship. One of my female shipmates, who is a fan of Vitor, enjoys seeing me practice those on the Muay Thai pads and call me "Vitor" (lol). Funny memories.
@yentamoon1808 How does that not excuse it? That would be foolish to be clean going against killers. Fighting enough is dangerous as it is. And if PEDs weren’t against the rules back then, how is it immoral?
Vitor would have probably been the absolute GOAT. When that stuff happened with his sister and he came back... he wasn't the same man and nobody can blame him for that. But wow.... doing that to Wanderlei Silva. One of the most ferocious and deadly muay thai and Vale tudo champ. Vitor in his prime was untouchable

That just makes it more impressive rather than less.. Wanderlei knew Vitor couldn’t kick at all with them on, so he only had to worry about hands & takedowns (and takedowns likely weren’t happening)- so he knew strikes were coming and couldn’t do a fucking thing about it. Welcome to the UFC.
I know that fighters are on an entirely different level now, but nothing was as fun as the early days of mma. From 1998 to 2006, Pride vs UFC was so fun to imagine and they did do a cross promotion sort of when Liddel fought in pride grand prix 2003, I think
